I met j Leno at a car show. He pulled up in an Acura nsx 2017, but he was extremely nice to everyone shaking hands, taking pictures and striking conversation.

when you have a few hundred cars and the vast majority of them run or could run without any major things (like maybe just change out the fluids including fuel and all that) and a lot if not all of those are insured then...yea i dont blame him. he's got a bunch of mechanics that work for him and he can make his own parts in house. he's had a 3D scanner and printer for years now then he can get whatever he needs done machined on his CNC and its just amazing. the reason he has that is cause a lot of parts would cost a fortune to have made by someone else and it would take forever while he can just get a new part in hours, try it out, and redesign if it didnt work out

There's loads of 'car guys' and race drivers you couldn't talk cars with because if it's not a Mercedes or if it's not 2 years old, they don't know anything about what you're talking about, or they're too snobby or rude or whatever, where as I think you could walk up to Jay, shake his hand and say 'Hi, Jay, I've got a 73 XB GS Fairmont with a 351 HO 4V and C4, 3:00.1 Locker and HO brakes, he'd have a smile, turn to you and say 'yes, Stig, I am your long lost denim wearing dad, come home with me, and we can play cars forever in my shop' wait... Went off track a bit there....

That is exactly how Leno is, met him in the Malibu canyons and he's such an approachable guy and it's great knowing he's got a passion for automobiles that any enthusiast can find common ground with him.
It's good to hear. I wouldn't say he was a hero, as such, but he's certainly someone I admire, and it would be awful hearing that he was an asshole.

I met Jay in Malibu a month ago. Such a laid back guy...one of the most likable Gents out there!
I would have picked a Miata as well. It's a great little car! I bought a brand new one in 1991 and kept it until 1995 when I traded it for the RX7 in my avatar. I still own it today. The car had 9 miles on it when I drove it off the lot. Speaking of car names, I called my Miata Junior.
An ambiance of performance cars. An interviewer who is really good at his game. And an interviewee who has an immense genuine passion for cars and a great sense of humor. This will easily be one of the best car videos of the year.

Max Tepper i know, but he shouldn't be scrolling down when the person being interviewed is answering the question he was just asked, it seems a bit disrespectful, he can always keep paying attention to the reply and scroll down when he finishes. Its a small detail but some people can get triggered by that.

+A happy Bambi well i have never driven an miata but its slightly bigger, more complicated and weighs more its like his bigger brother i geus. i got mine for a little less than 3k (have to look what miatas go for here) and its completly stock and has 150k on it. i dont really know for what price mx5s go here
Yeah same.. I've considered so many cars to be my sports car over the last year, and it's as they say "Miata is always the answer" It's gonna be a Mx-5 this time, on my budget. S14 / S2k or something next time, but Miata is the answer.

Its really neat how Jay has a passion for any car no matter how expensive or cheap it is, I have even more respect for him now. This video also shows how naturally humorous he is, I don't know why he has a forced approach for humor on TV.

Awesome :D also it's nice to see a video with Jay in it were he's not 'taking over' the video. I do like his video's, but i feel when he has a guest, he tells more about the car himself than the guest who is there to talk about it..
He's spot on regarding the first gen MX5/Miata. It may not be flash but it is light, handles beautifully and is reliable and great fun to drive.: really pure. I'd rather that than a second hand hot hatch any day as you can actually have a great deal of involvment at legal speeds and learn how to slide around in a rwd without killing yourself. It also has the sweetest manual shift ever made imho. Jay is more cerebral in evaluating a car's merits than the macho, boorish Clarkson "down the pub" style. I think he was just messing around at the end though. I hope so as I did not have Leno down as the type who would deflate people or make them feel uncomfortable.
