    This is traditional sport originally from Nusantara Archipelago, especially, Melayu Kingdom. Thais called this takraw, Malays called this sepakraga/sepaktakraw, and people of philipines called this sipa. To Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, Philipines, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and all ASEAN countries this sport is "a must" sport along with pencaksilat in South East Asian games.....

    • @jp0678
      @jp0678 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Philippines' _Sipa_ is distinct from _Sepak Takraw_ in terms of origin and rules. It's a common misconception about the two being the same. _Sipa_ is usually played with a washer with a candy wrapper or cloth. Although rarely, it can also be played with a rattan ball, which might be where the misconception came from. In my local area at least, I don't think we had that misconception. I don't hear people call the game _sipa_ when I was in school, it was just simply called "takraw".

    • @senpaispoilme
      @senpaispoilme 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      This not sipa. Sipa is a different sport. Its still called sepak takraw in the Philippines.

      Sorry. My mistake.
      You right. In terms of sport, sipa is different,
      My conclusion came from word "sepak" and "sipa" that has the same root,
      Sepak = sipa = to kick

    all southeast asian nations play sepak takraw because in their culture there is a very nimble, agile, strong and rugged martial arts background, but politeness is still practiced. korean people are fast learners because in their culture there is also a martial arts background.

      Because this sport will be dominated by Asians/Asian countries. It will take a millennium to be that competitive in this sports by countries other than Asia. Moreover, I don't think the top bosses of the Olympics will include this. Olympic politics. It will be like table tennis of today, Asian domination. They can't do anything about it now for TT. This sport was already presented as an exhibition game for the Olympics way before. Did they (olympic committee), give a "second look"? Probably not. I will be thrilled if they (Olympics), will include it in my lifetime as an olympic sport since I played this in the Philippines before, (sigh).

      The problem is that most Malaysian players cannot spinkick. It takes them generations to learn to spinkick like Thais; they only started to do it only recently. All they did in the past was to rely on the less effective moonsault technique. Thais always have a new talent to replace the old guards. But it remain to be seen if Malaysian would continue to have players who can perform the world class spinkick technique like Zaid.

      khairul zaman might jump and strike faster than anuwat. but when Thailand and Malaysia find a good striker, they look for strikes that are kicked in and blocks that they get. also they look for strikes that aren't getting blocked. so basically anuwat is a way more smarter player than khairul zaman.
