We lost a whole mare and both of her foals one time- everyone kept telling me she looked huge and it had to be twins, and I ignored all of them in favor of a really early ultrasound that only picked up on one foal... She ended up having dystocia with twins and we lost all 3 of them in one night and I've been kicking myself about it for so long. I'm glad to see other people don't get it perfect every time-I know that sounds awful!!- but I'm glad to see others are open about making mistakes and sometimes...breeding can be very isolating. Sometimes I felt like I had no one to talk to about making mistakes and thus, I fell prey to ignoring my own gut instincts and ended up making more mistakes and following bad advice. Thank you so much Sandi for sharing your barn with us and letting us into your world, all the parts of it.
Happy sandi is open and honest even when its Heartbreaking.. Truly believe she is a Blessing to many . Hate to hear of your loss , at least you know more now..
That's tragic all the way around. It's been so hard on you, too. I hope you have given yourself a chance to grieve and grow - you are so heartbreakingly hard on yourself. I've never walked in your shoes. I just believe you deserve some kindness. Be well.
Having farmed most my life, I must say to you ,as much as you would like to take blame upon your self, STOP. All farmers get the best and the worst of life and ,Yes death. We get to see the beauty of this creation ,and the worst of its disaster. Every one I know, has a back pocket horse expert on call. Quick to pass judgement. And condemnation. Do Not do it to yourself, Move on to a new day of joy. Our family lost twin horses, don't feel alone, as it is unusual if the live at all. It can happen to anyone. Beating yourself up doesn't change anything. Be well. C.
When we have goat kids with fluid on the lungs we swing them upside down a few times. They normally get most of it out really quickly. Saves them every time and they bounce back a lot quicker.
Put the head in your hand and align the body up your arm. Swing your hand from 90 degrees to your body down to your knee. Do this a couple of times, this will empty the lungs. Do it fast and with force.
Please don't get discouraged! You are one hell of a great farmer! Yes a lamb was lost but you get up, dust off and grow from it. I think we all had hopes your downed ewe would be able to mother her lambs.

As you said a few days ago, you didn't expect her to live. How to deal with lambs born to a collapaing Milk Fever ewe wasn't in your experience bank... Sadly now it is and you will have learned from this and won't leave lambs with such a potential in the future.
Sandi, I'm down with COVID, and I found your channel a few months ago. And Miss Sandy, your lambs make me so happy. They are so adorable!!! I'm a city girl, but I absolutely love your farm and vlogs. Thank you for making my isolated days so much better. You are my medicine! A dose of Sandi keeps the depression away!!!
Thank you for sharing all or your triumphs, failures, and bumps in the road with us! I've been watching for a few weeks now, and I can't believe how much I care about a lovely lady in Canada and her amazing sheep, that I've never met!! These babies always make me laugh and coo at their cuteness, and you inspire me with your resilience and bravery every day! When you got back to the pens to check the down ewe, I knew instantly what had happened to the lamb before you said anything. You are so loving towards your animals, and you take everything personal when things go wrong. Your little internet family loves you, and we will always be here...especially on the bad days.
Never knew I could get so excited for videos about sheep, can't click fast enough on these when they go up. I love that you have favorite sheep and give them cute names.
Sandi. You are hard on yourself. Grab a coffee and sit by the fire and relax. There are bad days. I can relate. But there are more good days then bad. Who ever said farming is easy has never done it. I had a cow go down on me once. I tried for the longest time to get her up and i did. All on my own. I was so upset, i watched her and watched her. She calved and i was so happy and proud. Then she passed. I cried for days. Being upset means you care. Take a deep breath. Uou are doing fantastic. Hugs
We had a cow lay on top of her calf hours after giving birth... dead 🙁 No matter how big u make the pens, the lambs will try to be close to mama... You start second-guessing yourself & questioning your judgement calls... 🤔 Stuff happens Sandi... onwards & upwards 😎👍☘️🍺
Thank you Sandi for the extra time (that you could spend sleeping!) that you take to share this journey with us. You already do so much for your flock, to see that you add us to your workload, well.. I appreciate it. ps: it's ok to take a day off from us here and there. We'll be here when you get back, knowing you took a wee bit of time for yourself. :) #CaVaBienAller
The lambs are all so gorgeous. I love the way you treat your animals. And do not be sad it is not your fault. Everyone has some things s/he should have known better about. So don't blame yourself so often. . Keep👌up👌the👍good👍work👍👍👍
@Sandi Brock You are doing a wonderful job! As far as the downed ewe, She's been down long enough to consider the possibility that she may have damaged nerves or vascular issues. Do not beat yourself up. I know it's hard. There are so many things that happen, all you can do is what you're doing. You're wonderful and inspiring. Never get down on yourself.
This is an insane line of work. Everything can go wayside up in a moment. Yet you manage to get right up immediately after. Man, you're so inspirational Sandi. Thank you for these videos!
The way the newest quad mom looked at you was priceless! It's like she was saying, it's been a long day Sandi!! I admire and respect your daily grind!!
i was waiting for what Rex told you to do about the down Ewe you have! I'm sure you'll update us in the next video. I really liked this vlog. It really showed the ups and downs of what you deal with on a daily basis. At least when you're lambing. You're a rockstar and a role model to all girls out there!
Never give up Sandi! You're doing great ! At 14:10 is why I love watching, cute bouncy lambs and mamas. Maybe carry a suction for the lambs noses/mouth as well as hanging upside down.
Omg love seeing these baby lambs jumping and playing around its been one hell of a busy day for you sandi but you do an amazing job with your sheep and the bond you have with them is great cant wait to see if theirs any mimi billy baby lambs cant wait to the next video god bless take care stay safe
You are a loving, kind soul. You wanted was best for the the babies and that was being with their mom. A heartbreaking accident happened that you didn't know would happen. You love your sheep. Sandi, your videos clam me, that is why I am leaving a message you will never read, lol. I am all caught up on new videos so am watching your old videos because you are my calm place. Keep your head up Sandi.
I watch this video so much because it's probably my favorite . You're a real trooper Sandy. You're the last of your breed. When you see something that needs to be done you get it done no matter where it is or what it is. I love that because I'm the same way. Don't ever be down on yourself cuz you're a great lady. Greatness and Beauty don't come along easily together.
Well Sandi...the sky didn't fall on your head...so today is a good day...you have won more than you lost...also...every day is a school day...and tomorrow is a new day...I can't wait to see more of your flock...Love from Scotland💞🐑🐏😁
It's not your fault. Yes, things could have happened differently but some things happen. We take the time that we need to process what happens and get back up and fight the next battle. Don't beat yourself up Sandi!
Sandi, you have done your best for the down ewe. Please don't get discouraged about the one baby. You were able to save the other one. You are doing awesome and I will continue to keep you, your family and the sheep in my prayers. Love U and thanks for sharing your life with us❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Oh Sandy don’t feel discouraged you did your best your such a hard worker and clearly have so much passion for your flock, with the hard times there’s always a rainbow 🌈 like the wee black lamb so gorgeous, be kind to yourself your doing great 👍 hugs from Southland New Zealand 🥝🥝
You are such a great farmer Sandi and you show so much compassion for your animals. I notice you second guess yourself sometimes....heck we all do it. But what our initial gut is telling us is almost always right. I’ve learned over the years to start trusting that initial gut reaction more and to stop talking myself out of what it’s telling me.
So sorry Sandi for the loss of lambies. 😢 The rest though look feisty and well fed & Omgoodness , A jet black Billy babe. 🙌🙌 A few suffocks and spotted. Really awesome ! Virtual hugggggs
Sandi, I look forward to your posts every day. I'm sorry for the loss of the lamb twin and the ewe. You did get some beautiful quads and triplets. I know you feel every loss. Thanks for sharing. I love watching the lambs when they start jumping all around. Looking forward to the next "Lampede." Be well. Be safe. God bless you, your helpers, your family, and flock. ❤ Alaska Mom.
It breaks my heart when you lose a lamb, I can feel how much it hurts you, so sorry beautiful. You are doing a great great job, these things happen, all those lambs are so lucky to have you. Keep going and thanks so much for your videos 🤗🤗
Ash the Outdoors Professor did you see the correct post? Was it the one about Sandi and her lambs? I reread it and didn’t see anything negative there. I’m always positive on Sandis posts, always. I always watch her videos - and like every one of hers.
Before I even watch this video, I want to say how wonderful it is when I see the videos are up and that the joy I get and it’s such a wonderful escape from what’s going on. Thank you, I know it’s got to be a lot of work and I’ll bet more than I enjoy them. Thank you soo much.
That solid black when is so cute and his ears are so big. We just have to count our blessings when things don't happen the way we wished it would. One lamb died, but another lamb lived. I pray that you sleep well every night. Blessing to you
I only found you within the last few weeks and you cannot possibly know the joy you have given during this time. I am so grateful. I am just amazed at the amount of knowledge that you have and how you work so very hard. But most of all, I am thankful for the love you have for your family, your farm and your lambs. Blessings to you and yours.
😍 love these posts! Your doing an excellent job. So sorry for the lost lamb😔keep up the great work and that great smile! In these days as a nurse, your videos give me a few minutes of joy. God bless and stay safe
I love seeing the babies frolicking . So beautiful. Life and death is a part of life . You can’t be everywhere all the time. We love you Sandi don’t lose hope xoxo
So sorry that happened with the lamb but you got a replacement with that unsuspected triplet, then quads. God closed a door but opened a window. Boy, you’re having a lot of triplets. Yay! Love seeing the little lambs dancing around. So exciting to see the little black lamb up and moving around so cute.
Man such emotional roller coaster. I feel for you and the lambs and ewe so much I could never do it . That black lamb is amazing.....thank you Jesus. I love seeing the joy and frisky lambs so beautiful! Thank you Sandy
I look forward to your Vlogs makes my day. You are the Best! You treat your Ewes and Lambs so good. Your kind and Caring need more farmers like you. There's nothing cuter than a pile of Lambs or Lambs frolicking. Good for the Mind Body and Soul. Tomorrow will be a better day. Stay Safe and Peace Be With You All ☮️
Don't blame yourself. A great friend of mine always says "Everything happens for a reason". Took me quite a while to believe it. But I realized she's right. We may never figure out what the reason is but there is one. Keep up what you do, I think you are Amazing!!!!
I love your videos - thank-you for juggling lambs, ewes, breakfast and a camera. The moment I click on the video and the lights go on in the barn and the lambs start making a sound - my cat races in and stares at the screen, so we sit together and watch our daily dose whats happening on the farm.
You give 100% to your livestock. Nothing is a sure thing. You told us from day one not to expect the down ewe to make it, let alone her lambs. I’m surprised she is even up. To see her walking at all is a miracle. The black lamb looks so much stronger now. It would have died if you had not tubed it and kept at feeding it. I love how you show just how much HARD WORK goes into farming and keeping them alive. Thank you! Even your bad days bring most of us together. Your giving us something to care about other than this awful virus of death. Thank you
You are such an amazing and caring sheep farmer! Please stop getting down on yourself so much. Like you even said yourself, that kind of stuff can happen anywhere, anytime, with someone who has been doing it for 30 yrs!!! I know no being hard on yourself is soooo much easier said than done, that it’s not that easy! But try and remember that you do an amazing job, we all follow you because we love you and believe in what you do and how you do it!! But also thank you for showing us so much of the raw and real side of real life of your farm! Your love and dedication comes through all the time and in every video!!!
I love the way you care so much about your sheep, but you can't be in the right spot all of the time. You do a great job. People should see how much you and Mark care about what you do. They may look at farmers differently. Keep your chin up. You are just starting this lambing cycle...:)
We lost a whole mare and both of her foals one time- everyone kept telling me she looked huge and it had to be twins, and I ignored all of them in favor of a really early ultrasound that only picked up on one foal... I was thinking the same thing and im not a sheep farmer. And carry a sucking bulb with you.
That's what I waa going to suggest ro her. That how I was taught by my papa.
Had to do that to baby puppies.
Yes, swing or even suspend by the hocks and tap the newborn lambs rib cage, you'd be amazed how much fluid comes out.
Put the head in your hand and align the body up your arm. Swing your hand from 90 degrees to your body down to your knee. Do this a couple of times, this will empty the lungs. Do it fast and with force.

TALK TO YOUR VET ABOUT SELENIUM DEFICIENCY!
Up up up you go!
Guys, hit the like and comment!
Bump
I think she would already know. Ontario soil at least where I'm from lacks selenium and farmers inject!
I can agree with the selenium thoughts. We have issues with cattle being deficient.
Kristina Dunphy you can never be too sure. It may not have crossed her mind or it may not be something she doesn’t knows

Cute & adorable little lambs.

When mama calls for her baby I feel like they all sound very similar, but towards the end when mama called baby went right to her, melted my heart.
We had a cow lay on top of her calf hours after giving birth... dead 🙁
No matter how big u make the pens, the lambs will try to be close to mama...
You start second-guessing yourself & questioning your judgement calls... 🤔

@@RedMoonsEcho hey ! Meghan didn't say anything to merit your ire... give it a break, no need to attack people for NO reason 🙄😒

Awwwwww at the end to see you smile again after all the anguish was awesome!! Keep smiling Sandi, chin up tomorrow will be a better day. 🤗🤗🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thank you for sharing your beautiful babies.
That spotted black and white 3 is my absolute favorite!
Have you ever tried swinging the babies from the back legs when born with fluids on the lungs it may help to get it to drain.
We usually do that as a matter of course... 😎👍☘️🍺
Love seeing the lambs. Sorry for the lost of one. Hang in there you are a staff of one most of the time. You are great at what you do. Stay healthy.

Those things happen Sandi. Don’t focus on the loss. I miss the frolicking of baby lambs in our barn. Hang in there!
Sooo happy to see the babies thriving! Sometimes things happen please don't beat yourself up!
So sorry for the loss of your lamb. But so thankful for the black one. All we can do is try our best. God Bless you Sandi.
I’m sorry for your bad day sandi and poor lady really hope she pulls thru
Keep up the great work👍 you are amazing❤️I love your videos!
That little black lamb is a fighter! Can’t wait to see what it looks like all grown up
Aw I love how when something bad happens there is a little blessing to counteract it! Thank you for all the life lessons we can learn from you!!
Aw Sandy pleaseeee don’t be down on your self. You can’t be everywhere! And you were The faith , Hope needed to keep living. 🙏🙏🙏
Don't blame yourself. A great friend of mine always says "Everything happens for a reason". Took me quite a while to believe it. But I realized she's right. We may never figure out what the reason is but there is one. Keep up what you do, I think you are Amazing!!!!
So happy for your little black one! Thankful for the small wins is right!
Sandy licorice is a perfect name for the little black lamb. I hope that's what you name it. I hope you have a fabulous day.
Im so sorry Sandi, It is hard to be everywhere all the time. We do what , we can. You are a wonderful at caring for your sheep and lambs.
So sorry about the lamb. Black one is adorable. Prayers for you and your family and your flock.
I love the way you care so much about your sheep, but you can't be in the right spot all of the time. You do a great job. People should see how much you and Mark care about what you do. They may look at farmers differently. Keep your chin up. You are just starting this lambing cycle...:)
There was the bad o but here comes the good those wigglly hopping playing baby lambs proud of you Sandi
You are a Great Shepherd! Don't be so Hard on yourself!!!!!!! When things look the worst!! God always give us a Light Of Hope!!!!!!♥️🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗👍

Sandi Brock , Just goes to show you persistent pays off !!
Sorry for the downed momma, but your dedication and love for all really shines. Hope the good times grow for you.
