Watched it last night and though there were some funny parts, the story was very predictable. Also some parts looked super fake (yes I know a lot of cgi is used but still...)
Saw the movie on Wednesday and I gotta say, Idris Elba was freaking awesome, Vanessa Kirby killed it too! A balanced mixture of comedy and action, family-friendly, some signature moments as well, though the story lacked a bit of depth imo, its still a watchable flick to say the least, at least for me.

This is one of the best movies of this year and from Fast and Furious franchise. It has great chemistry between the leads, great performance from all the 4 lead characters, over the head action (which is ofcourse expected), good humour as a banter. Whoever says that this movie illogical are actually expecting an elephant to give a lion roar. This is not Nolan or Eastwood kinda movie where you put your brains while watching. This is just an entertainer and it delivers in loads. Have the movie and enjoy those two hours
This movie is worth more than a watch if you're an action movie purist. We're not asking for Macbeth here! One of the best things about great action movies of old, especially James Bond, were classic villains and it definitely delivers here with a maniacal Brixton Lore in a Thanos mission! I'm going to watch it again!

It’s not a serious story like the rest of the Fast & Furious franchise, except 2 Fast 2 Furious, but it’s funny, great action, and might I add a few unsuspecting moments in the movie that’ll you find both funny and pleasing. Action, humor, cameos (not from F&F franchise), and a story that shows that even two enemies can grow to like each other, or at least a little.

Hobbs and Shaw is a great addition to the Fast and Furious franchise! It fully embraces the fantastical, over the top car chases and grudge matches, while effortlessly weaving ridiculous humor in. The chemistry between Johnson and Statham is electric and infuses a frenetic energy to their on-screen pairing. It was fantastically funny with great cameos. There were times I was giggling so hard I couldn't hear the dialogue. Elba was an awesome villian and Kirby, as the prodigal sister, was a certified badass!
Completey over the top but it works well. The banter and action definitely makes the film move fast and personally I thought it was hilarious. The US Marshal scene is great. 🤣

The only thing we thought was stupid was the part on the plane with hobbs bringing up race and old school bigotry when Shaw isn't even from the US and probably doesn't even have that view point. I used to be a movie snob, (are house, foreign, etc.) and then I saw Die Hard. There is room for movies like Moonlight and Precious, that take you through multiple deep and draining emotions. A good actor movie also gives you catharsis, but it's easier on the "feels" as my friend says. Both are valid, enjoyable movie going experiences.
It's the best entertaining film of 2019. In the end we all watch movies for entertainment and it delivers tons of it. Sarcastic critics take a chill pill.
Mokhushin Zedan Wrong again...that line wasn’t about Owen. Deckard didn’t even know Brixton was alive for 8 yrs and this movie isn’t too far from when fate took place. Owen was fine in fate.

It was good fun. It didn't take itself seriously. I loved the cameos. The banter were funny, great chemistry between the two actors. My only complaint was what happened to Shaws other brother played by Luke Evans? How come they completely ignored him? That was my only gripe..
If you want deep plot and storylines, or themes you should know better than to walk into anything labeled Fast and Furious. They work because they know what kind of movies they make and they're not pretending to be anything else.

I knew I was going to love this movie but in all honesty I didn't know I was going to love it that much. It was so great, every scene kept my attention. My only problem with it was its lack of references to the previous films. No mention of Dom and not a single mention of Owen Shaw. It felt like Owen wasn't even a part of the Shaw family anymore. Which hurts cause he was the Shaw that started it all in this franchise. So that was my only disappointment. Besides that, it was amazing
No one is going in to this movie expecting it to be a genre-defining Academy Award winner; it’s just silly fun. A popcorn film to see and enjoy for how crazy it is. It’s not high art, it’s just entertainment.

I have raised a few eye brows (Pun Intended) with my description that Hobbs & Shaw is a 21st century version of a Hope and Crosby "On the Road" movie. ON STEROIDS, ADRENALINE... pick your upper. Then mix in team building 101 (storming forming norming performing model) . Two guys who you know want to like to like each other battling a heavy and each other for a girl (for different reasons). It's a fun romp. On the Road to Somoa.

Saw it yesterday and if you accept it as a cliche action film and turn off your brain it's pretty great, it doesn't make much sense or have any major twists but it's still an enjoyable thrill ride.
I seen it , It’s alright for a day out. Comedy mixed with action and Idris nailed it.

I have raised a few eye brows (Pun Intended) with my description that Hobbs & Shaw is a 21st century version of a Hope and Crosby "On the Road" movie. ON STEROIDS, ADRENALINE... pick your upper. Then mix in team building 101 (storming forming norming performing model) . Two guys who you know want to like to like each other battling a heavy and each other for a girl (for different reasons). It's a fun romp. On the Road to Somoa.

Probably because it’s a spin off. It’s the same with the mcu. The solo hero movies don’t exactly follow the same path of the avengers movie

My favourite part is when the invincible rock curls an Apache helicopter with with one arm 💪
A truly entertaining movie. Better than, the getting long in the tooth, MCU and DC world movies. Worth going to the cinema for it!
