Guys i know this is a Zelda 2 theme but when i hear it i instantly think of the Temple stage from Melee and the event where you fight Dark Link. Also this remix is amazing.
I'd imagine that's probably where the track is better known from nowadays, or at least where it WAS better known from from Melee's release through to Zelda II's being made so widely available via Nintendo's various Virtual Console services over the years. While it is indeed not where the song originated from, I don't think it's at all unusual for there to be where you KNOW it from, for whatever that's worth!

Excellent remix of a track that's honestly hard to forget. I played Zelda II as a kid and sadly never finished it due to it being a rental from Blockbuster at the time, but the Palace Theme is one I never forgot from the NES days. Next up, Solar Man is coming to show us his Solar Workout program and make us praise the sun! : D

You mentioning this is the 4th time you've covered this... it kinda reminds me of a mundane personal story of mine... Every so often, i visit my local Arboretum, and my favorite area in it is this big waterfall. Every time i visit, i make a point to draw that same waterfall, even though it hasn't changed since i was a kid, and every time, i draw it a little differently, with a little more detail, and a better idea of scale and composition I bet that's how Jonny feels after covering this song four times. It's the same song, sure, but it's gonna be different each time because he grows as an artist in between! And it if sounds similar to the last time, that's because there were good freakin' musical ideas in it! Why scrap them? They're only improved by new equipment, better audio and mixing quality, and a more fine-tuned ear for even better musical ideas! Anyways, this cover rules, the bass especially got really punched up and I love it a lot!!!!

Ooo OOOOOOOOO Now granted, like many, I know this song more so for Smash than Zelda, so I won't exactly have the same nostalgic feeling others might that actually heard this song in the source game, but you cannot deny that the song still slaps regardless, especially in this remix form. I used to hate Zelda II but after watching speedruns I've come to have an appreciation for it.
Zelda II was a game ahead of its time, and not in a good way exactly. Even still, it's not a bad game, and I'd love to see its ideas perfected.
