okay, not throwing any shade or anything here. I'm a 5 year plumber, currently about to starting my schooling, gunning for my masters license and working on my business plan to start my own company. I heard you suggest to put pipe dope on both male and female end and then put thread tape on the male thread. this can cause leaks as the thread tape may bunch up and not allow the seal to form correctly. I always suggest using bot tape and dope. tape your male fitting, then dope it and tighten, that's should never leak unless there is a problem with a fitting or you under or over tightened it.
Sir, I’m living off-grid and wondering where do I connect the water heater system to cistern system? My setup: 5000 gallon tank to pump to filters to house. Would you recommend connecting solar water heater after the filter system? Thank you Juan
Hi Juan, many of our customers are off-grid. Yes, we would recommend installing the Sunbank downstream of the filter, so that you can provide better water quality to the Sunbank. Any other questions just let us know. Thanks
Absolutely. You can pre-heat a tankless or a tanked water heater with this system. The only difference is that tankless water heaters typically have a high end temperature for pre-heated water they accept, so the tempering valve is installed upstream of the tankless water heater, whereas it would be installed downstream of a tanked water heater.
East or west is also fine, with a small hit to your overall production. You do not want to point a system to the north (in the northern hemisphere). If on a north facing roof, you would want to reverse mount the system facing to the south.
There are bolts that are inset and part of the tank and they fit into a slot of what we call the "saddle" part of the rack. So it mechanically attaches to the rack and the rack is attached to the roof.

Cody - you're absolutely right. Teflon then dope. Thanks for catching that!

Could this work with a tankless water heater?
Absolutely. You can pre-heat a tankless or a tanked water heater with this system. Do you have to mount it only facing south ? Do it work facing any other direction?

How does the tank physically attach to the rack?
There are bolts that are inset and part of the tank and they fit into a slot of what we call the "saddle" part of the rack. So it mechanically attaches to the rack and the rack is attached to the roof.
