I actually think yes. Pop said it himself, the more minutes he gets the better he'll be. Barnes can be used as a vet off the bench, CP3 the vet for the starters. Paul, Vassell, Castle, Sochan and Wemby is a very good defensive unit Jones, Branahm, Keldon, Barnes, Collins is a deep bench that has offensive versatility and Wesley, Bassey, Cissoko can come in for defense when needed.
I think castle will come off the bench to start the season at least, but by the trade deadline, especially if theyre fighting for a play in spot, i fully expect them to push castle into that starting role and have cp3 lead the bench squad. Having his experience and game management abilities to keep the team from hemorrhaging points while wemby is off the floor will be invaluable by that point in the season

Castle should start. Since they brought in CP3, he can do what he did at UCONN and stand in the corner and cut. Great slasher and cutter with solid defensive upside. Not a primary ball handler. That's why he was the Fourth primary option in college behind Newton, Cam and Hassan. He is talented but he is NOT that guy.
Really curious how the Spurs will handle Tre Jones considering it seems that Castle is going to get plenty of run and CP is going to be fully entrenched in the lineup. Has to be a bit awkward for Tre especially after playing so well 2nd half of the season. Curious how he will be utilized.
I think he’ll play less next season, learn under CP3, have more heavy minutes when CP or Steph rest. And then go back to being a stellar back-up PG for hopefully the long-term.

Tre to me is the PERFECT number 2 point. i think by demanding a starting role or dying on thatt hill would do him a disservice to his career. think he can play a lot of years in the league as a high level rotation guy

I can see Castle stating the season backing up Devin too get some playing time, maybe even some time at the SF.
