Especially when you've caught a significant other cheating. This song has always held a place in my heart, along with Sometimes She Cries. It's hard to believe that Jani has been gone so long. I still cry every time I see a post to do with him or the original Warrant lineup. ❤️😥
I think a lot of people dislike Warrant. That's your opinion. However Jani himself was an amazing talent. Singer and songwriter. Very underrated IMO. Listen to some of these lyrics. Heartbreaking.
An-Original-Walking-Trubie-Castles-Whovian-Anatomy-Fan The song is based on a true story is why it's heartbreaking. Jani came home to find his girlfriend in bed with his best friend. It hurt Jani so bad he had a nervous break down. It was a double betrayal.
An-Original-Walking-Trubie-Castles-Whovian-Anatomy-Fan I wish I could like your comment more than once..very very very few people could touch his talent and voice and song writing..to me he's right there with Steve Perry and that's about the only other singer that was in Jani's realm
I met Jani when I was a kid, when they first came out. I have the picture somwhere back home in Florida. Really nice guy and very underrated talented singer. Too bad his light went out so soon. R.I.P. Jani Lane.

The fact that this sounds like a love song, but has such a deeper and darker meaning for his heartbreak makes it stand out so much. As the song progresses, the life in it starts to change. Usually songs are straight forward with one particular theme or idea, Jani tells a story. This track really, really grew on me. The video itself of him in the cemetery singing alone just does it for me. Rest In Peace Jani Lane, thank you for helping me along my journey and being a light to the world even when yours was mostly enveloped in darkness. I'd have to think you're somewhere wonderful now.
This song and "Heaven" are my absolute favorite Warrant songs❣️ Janie just put so much into the song that you could literally see his heartbreaking and knowing that it is true makes it even more devastating but beautiful at the same time❣️ -Heaven is my ringtone..... 🌹Jani🥀

Today is Friday ,March ,12 2021 maybe someone out there loves this song as much as i still do Jani Lane Thank you so much for your talents you are sadly missed 80's was the best time to be a teenager...
I am twenty two years old and have been listening to a lot of other bands from this time, like Cinderella, Tesla, Poison, Ratt, Whitesnake, Whitelion, Extreme, Great White, LA Guns, Motley Crue, etc. and Jani Lane and Warrant for some reason is my favorite from this time. I can feel his soul and their music deeply and they just had a better tone and clarity in their music, message, and god his words flow so well like beautiful poetry. I feel warrant out of most bands in the glam hair metal times of the 1980s 1990s Warrant were true and real musicians and people. I would have loved to see them and meet Mr.Lane. Beautiful talent.
I had the pleasure of meeting Jani back in the early 90’s a few times when they were touring with Poison once and before touring playing smaller venues. Such an awesome guy. Down to earth, kind, friendly! This whole situation breaks my heart knowing how tortured he was. Wishing back then I had been able to maybe help him in some way. RIP Jani. Such an underrated talent gone way too soon.
When Jani passed, my heart just spilled on to the floor. You can dislike Cherry Pie all you want, but it’s criminal to dismiss Jani (and Warrant as a whole) because of it. This song - especially this version - shows what a talented songwriter and vocalist Jani was.

I have come back to see this video and listen to this song for years now. Its always been one of my favorite 80s songs. Beautiful man and beautiful voice. You are missed, Jani.❤

I saw Warrant in concert back in the 1990s at Universal Amphitheatre, along withe Scorpions and Alice Cooper. Is was a great show, and a great night. This version of this song especially has significance for me as Im sure it does for others and I usually , silently keep it close to my heart. So corny to say but the cherry pie guy is such a beautiful human, rip brother, your legacy lives on! Warrant is and will always be one of my favorites, if not favorite band ever! Much love, RIP
I'm not the biggest Warrant fan but this is a beautiful acoustic ballad for sure. The video director was wise to shoot this video at Sunset,it adds to the mood of the song.I love the shot of Jami sitting on the railroad tracks.
Man, this dude was a great story teller, this album was f'n huge. Glad I got to see them opening for Paul Stanley, before they broke out. God bless the 80's.............
Every time I pick up my guitar and play this song...I feel you man.... an inspiration and will always be missed... keep rockin up there, the angels must be lovin it! RIP
I’ve always liked this version, almost as much as the electric version. It’s haunting. The video just adds to that. Amazing vocal. I remember buying the cassette of I Saw Red, just to have this version, as it was a bonus track only on that cassette. Great singer/songwriter. He is missed.
Remember these days Guys & Girls .. it's gone and never coming back... the world is falling deeper in to Crap... Jani your echoing your sounds in our Souls and Heaven✌
We met Jani in August 2009. He was super on stage and super nice backstage. He was probably one of the most underrated artists out there. What superb lyrics and music. RIP Jani.
I agree. It just registers. I remember MTV first airing it, and I just couldn’t wait for it to air again so I could record it on VHS….so I could watch it whenever I wanted. He was a prolific singer/songwriter who I believe, would still be making amazing music today.
5 years August and I still cry when I hear certain songs/performances from Jani. No one in my life (I never met) has ever affected me like Jani's death.
It was Jani's vocal's and song writting that made Warrant a hit. Without Jani they would not have come as far as they did.. Jani was a beautiful person inside and out. Yes, he fought his battles all through his career and it is so sad that he lost at the age of 47. Gone too soon. Jani,my friend. R.I.P.
Either people doesn't understand beautiful melody, shut their emotions and stay away from this genre, maybe as to be counted as cool, heavy, metal, whatev. Music is music. No need to trash each others' taste. It's subjective. But this, this song has it. The melody, the lyrics, the feeling, the voice. It doesn't need 'cool' people to appreciate it. The fact that it is relatable and enjoyed by so many and reached top charts during its time speaks for itself. Rest In Heaven Jani❤. Your music brought joy to the world. So lost without you in it 😢.
And how he passed was so freaking sad. The hotel staff wouldn't even go into the room to check on him. I do realize he had already passed and nothing could be done but that 911 call broke my freaking heart. RIP Jani Lane
I can't believe I never talked to this guy around the Cleveland/Akron music scene. Always admired his music, and knew he had some depression, and promissed myself that when I met him that I would remind him how lucky and how good he really is. Wish somebody else would have gotten there before me. You were a tallented guy....rip
Warrant (greatest hits) was my first ever cassette which I bought about 15 years ago. Have been in love with Jani's songs from the first time I heard and will always be.
Thankfully Jani left us with this beautiful music. I have yet to hear a bad Warrant song, nor heard Jani sound bad live. RIP Jani, you'll be remembered.
Just back for a taste of the BEST decade ever. Jani, You are missed. Your name is forever etched in the hearts and minds of many fans forever. Godspeed........Rest

Oo it must be magic
how inside your eyes i see my destiny
every time we kiss
i feel you breathe your love so deep inside of me
and if the moon and stars should fall

i would lift you up to heaven
and you would take their place
then i saw red
when i opened up the door
i saw red
heart just spilled on to the floor
and i didn't need to see his face
i saw yours
i saw red then i closed the door
i don't think i'm gonna love you anymore
everyday i wake up
i thank god that you are
still a part of me
opened up the door to which
so many people never find the key
and if the sun
should ever fail to send his light
we will burn a thousand candles
and make everything alright
then i saw red
when i opened up the door
i saw red
heart just spilled on to the floor
and i didn't need to see his face
i saw yours
i saw red then i closed the door
i don't think i'm gonna love you anymore
i've been hurt
and i've been blind
i'm not sure that i'll be fine
i never thought it would
end this way
oo it must be magic

I'm not the biggest Warrant fan but this is a beautiful acoustic ballad for sure. The video director was wise to shoot this video at Sunset,it adds to the mood of the song.I love the shot of Jami sitting on the railroad tracks.
Jani、you got an exceptional songwriting and singing ability from God, so why did you go to heaven? I still miss you.
Man, this dude was a great story teller, this album was f'n huge. Glad I got to see them opening for Paul Stanley, before they broke out. God bless the 80's.............
Those first two albums EPIC
Saw that tour also in Cleveland.
@@thunderdeed1 , was a great show bro, wasn't it🤘😎
Every time I pick up my guitar and play this song...I feel you man.... an inspiration and will always be missed... keep rockin up there, the angels must be lovin it! RIP
cool song but,WHATEVER
So true
I’ve always liked this version, almost as much as the electric version. It’s haunting. The video just adds to that. Amazing vocal. I remember buying the cassette of I Saw Red, just to have this version, as it was a bonus track only on that cassette. Great singer/songwriter. He is missed.
Magnifique artiste qui nous manques,il a bercer mon adolescence
was a senior in high school. remember driving around NE Ohio with this song in the tape deck. Where did the time go?
love this song. one of my fav Warrant song of all time. RIP Jani Lane. the best power ballad...
Those were the good ol days...
Jani the songs you wrote will never be replaced wonderful lyrics and magical voice ,i still can hear you sing my dear friend RIP.
RIP Jani.
This song has always hit a nerve, beautiful, so sad and true for so many. Your voice was one of a kind baby. Miss you Jani.
I agree. It just registers. I remember MTV first airing it, and I just couldn’t wait for it to air again so I could record it on VHS….so I could watch it whenever I wanted. He was a prolific singer/songwriter who I believe, would still be making amazing music today.
Love ❤️ this beautiful song, 💿🎸🎵🤗❤️😎Jani Lane’s beautiful voice ❤️ Taken too early in life 😞 Rip Jani great song ✍️ writer 🎤 singing ❤️
R.i.P one of the greatest song writers ever :(
My fav of I saw Red. he is just beautiful. This is the jani I will remember .
5 years August and I still cry when I hear certain songs/performances from Jani. No one in my life (I never met) has ever affected me like Jani's death.
Filmed in Nashville. Freaked when i saw it as a kid. Used to walk those same railroad tracks. Almost 30 years ago. Time doesn't march. It sprints
What location is it? And do you know what cemetery parts of this video are filmed at also?
I was an 80s teen so I was definitely a warrent fan still liston to the hair bands and this guy is such a great singer really sucks he passed😢 🤘👍🙂❤
Same here class of 1989!!😁
And how he passed was so freaking sad. The hotel staff wouldn't even go into the room to check on him. I do realize he had already passed and nothing could be done but that 911 call broke my freaking heart. RIP Jani Lane
Whatever your demons were you gave us some great and beautiful music. Sleep well man...
This is my forever alltime favorite song - still unbeaten. The amazing Jani Lani. I miss him sooo much. RIP - I'm sure you're still rockin' in heaven
I can't believe I never talked to this guy around the Cleveland/Akron music scene. Always admired his music, and knew he had some depression, and promissed myself that when I met him that I would remind him how lucky and how good he really is. Wish somebody else would have gotten there before me. You were a tallented guy....rip
RIP Jani. Thank you for sharing your music and talent with us. Love you always

Warrant (greatest hits) was my first ever cassette which I bought about 15 years ago. Have been in love with Jani's songs from the first time I heard and will always be.
Jani, gone from us four years today. Love and miss you as much today.
Thankfully Jani left us with this beautiful music. I have yet to hear a bad Warrant song, nor heard Jani sound bad live. RIP Jani, you'll be remembered.
I really was born in the wrong era…I wish I could’ve lived in the 80’s, and experienced these songs for the first time back then.
It was awesome
