Frank Hannon
As a founding member of Tesla, guitarist Frank Hannon sold millions of albums with rock-radio hits “Modern Day Cowboy,” “Little Suzi,” “Love Song,” “Signs” and “Heaven’s Trail (No Way Out).” He also reintroduced acoustic guitars to a new generation of hard-rock fans (although he’s far too humble to take credit). He joins us to discuss the 1987 Texxas Jam, Def Leppard’s Steve Clark, Ronnie Montrose, Dicky Betts, Mick Mars and David Lee Roth's powdery pinky scoop.

Frank has so much class. Love this podcast.
Texas Jam 1987. The first groups was called Farrenheit. Drove from Oklahoma that morning was on the front row until Boston and had to go sit down as I was warn out. They sprayed us with water and it felt so good until it got to your waste then it was like you where getting pissed on. Drove back 3 hours to Oklahoma after the show.
Another great chat.I saw Tesla open for Motley Crue back on the Dr Feelgood Tour (Winnipeg Canada). Tesla opened up there set with "Cover Queen". Saw them a few times after. They always bring it live/studio.
Seen Tesla many times and they seemed to play everywhere. This guy brought it and never seemed to ever miss a note. Didn’t know about the Ronnie Montrose connection. Awesome!
Frankie is the VERY BEST on earth literally. If you haven’t seen TESLA live, go see them. Frankie is my guitar God now and forever. ♥️🥰🎼🎤🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Tesla is like DT... always superb live, never a let down
Just seen them in Shipshewana Indiana a couple weeks ago . The band was outstanding like every other time i've seen them thru the decades . Cool podcast !
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed (we did, too). Please spread the word.
Found this by accident. Glad I did!
@@guyinpajamapants6892 Thanks for finding us! Frank was a great guest. Subscribe and share if you don’t mind.
Steve Clark was a first-class human being: kind and humble and Frank is right about Steve's smile. Definitely mutual respect for life between Tesla and Lep.
I knew about Dickey Betts connection, then again I'm a big Tesla fan. I saw a frisbee hit his hand at the Texxas Jam while he was playing keyboards. You could hear it.
If you can’t find a Porch Board, check out the Ortega Horse Kick Pro. More for flamenco I believe, but similar idea.
Wait. That’s the singer from Dangerous Toys! I just realized! Damn I suck. Miss the Toys.
@@guyinpajamapants6892 Yup. They’re still active. They play fly-out dates quite often.
