I feel like the Ceadeus is one of the prime examples of how destructive Elder Dragons are. Mainly because it doesn't seem to be trying to cause harm like Alatreon or Lao-Shan Lung. It seems blissfully unaware that it causes earthquakes when trying to reach it's sanctum. Compared to most Elder Dragons it seems quite peaceful. When you enter it's lair, it is curled up as if it's taking a rest. The only reason it attacks is because you're intruding on it's territory.
alatreon isn't actually trying to cause harm, it's scales constantly generate energy, wich comes out as fire, dragon, thunder or ice element, and he has to release that energy. he just passively causes destruction. lao also doesn't try to destroy anything, it's just trying to get through, but there happens to be a village in it's path.
There’s a few elders that honestly don’t try to cause harm but are just elders so are powerful. Vaal hazak is a prime example seeing as you can just follow it around but due to it being intimidating it gets a bad rep.
Almost all Elders are relatively peaceful creatures. The exception to this is Nakarkos. Nakarkos destroys ecosystems much like Deviljho. It's not malicious, but it is incredibly destructive and it's part of its nature to be destructive. For reference, Nakarkos' primary prey is Ceadeus pups and its only known natural predator is a fully grown Ceadeus (aka Goldbeard) or a Ceadeus near full maturity. The Fatalis trio are also ultra destructive and are harbingers of doom as they destroy everything in their path. Kirin (evidenced in Monster Hunter World) is a relatively peaceful creature. It sees the Handler and Hunter and it intentionally splits its lightning bolts so as to not harm them when it tries to ward off the Rajang that is trying to hurt it. Lao is simply a fearful creature and is on the run from Fatalis. Chameleos is someone what benign but has a tendency to cause trouble because it's a curious creature. Kushala, like Lunastra and Teostra, is an ambivalent creature that only hurts you if you come near it. The same can be said for Yama Tsukami. Yama Tsukami has no concept of your retarded human problems, bro, he's just tryna vibe and do his thing. Amatsu is a natural harbinger of once of the forces of nature and as such is ambivalent. Dire Miralis could be considered malicious. It destroys everything in its path like the Fatalis siblings. Jhen Mohran is just a gigantic sand whale that's just trying to live, just like Dah'ren. Dalamadur can be considered much the same. Gogmazios, however, cannot. Same for Shagaru and Valstrax. I don't know much about the World elder dragons, really, because I hate the game.

Thanks +NingyoHimeDoll Ningyo! And as for your question: I can't really speak for others, but the reason I don't use the ballistas, is because of the time it takes to get there, firing them all, gather more ballistas when you've run out and then shoot them all again. There's a limited supply of them too, so you can't rely on them all the time. I personally don't think it's worth going for them. They're useful for breaking the horns off, because of the fixed amount damage they inflict on Ceadeus, but you're pretty much open to his attacks since you're stuck in place. I found bombs to be a fine substitute, aswell as Slime. All in all, I think it's up to personal preference whether you want to use them or not. I hope this helps! I went into this thinking it would be even tougher than regular Caedeus, turns out it was MUCH easier. lol You don't have to chase this one around 2 other areas and you don't have a 30 minute time limit. I kinda overprepared, with bombs/Bombardier and stuff like in this video, but just using a regular build would've been fine, I didn't even end up using more than 2 LBB+.
It’s a real shame we’ll most likely never get to see Ceadeus again in an hd render since people didn’t like the underwater stuff too much for some reason
I managed to solo this last night with the nargacuga sword and shield and the armor. Because of that I almost failed the quest due to my inability to figure out that its water cannon auto locks on to me.
+Boshwa Yeah, that attack is pretty difficult to dodge. One could either use a farcaster once he starts going to the top or bottom of the cave to prepare his water blast and avoid it that way, or just make sure you're at full health before he fires it off. Of course, if you have a negative resistance to water, being at full health might not be enough.
i still remember how I was always close to the 50 min time limit when i was 13. and now (started again after 5 years) it took me only 30 min on my first try

If you're talking about the differences between regular and Goldbeard Ceadeus, it's mostly the visuals, some new move and attack patterns, more health and the fact that you can fight it in online mode with other players. And it's also done in an arena format, so there's no long hit and chase sequence like there is for the regular Ceadeus. In the end, it's still a Ceadeus though. So nothing really too exciting about it :P
+Gus Wisnu Sure you can, although you should look out for any rushing attacks, since those deal out Dragon damage, which you will be very vulnerable to with Deviljho armour. Also, if you're looking to use a weapon with elemental damage, most of the Deviljho weapons need the Awaken skill before they actually get the Dragon element. Otherwise they're just good for raw damage. You could also opt to use Zinogre or Lagiacrus weapons, if you want to have elemental damage as well.
Armor was the high rank Ivory Lagiacrus set, with the high rank Brachydios Long Sword. I gemmed in the Bombardier and Attack Up L skills for more power. Items were: Barrel Bombs+, Small Barrel Bombs+, Bounce bombs+, Tanzia Chips, Mega Potions, Max Potions, Mega Dash Juices, Mega Air Philters and of course whetstones.
The armour is the full set of Lagiacrus U and the gems are from top to bottom: Helm slot - Bombardier jwl 1 Mail slot - Attack jwl 2 Braces slot - Bombardier jwl 1 Faulds slot - Attack jwl 1 Greaves slot - Attack jwl 2 The talisman has zero slots and gives 6 points towards Bomb boost.
Either use Rapid or Pierce type Bows, with either Thunder or Dragon element. The two bows that would be great to use, would be the high rank Zinogre (for Rapid) or Alatreon (for Pierce) Bows. You can get the high rank Alatreon Bow by fighting him in the village. They also have Power Coatings, which is always a must-have. If you can use Rapid arrows against his head or Pierce arrows to shoot from the head, down the length of its body, that should be pretty effective. As for sets to use, either the Dober or Aelucanth/Rhopessa for Dragon attack up, or the Damascus or Zinogre set for Thunder attack up.
What about the Arko Du? I don't have the Alatreon Bow (because Mark of a Hero is kicking my ass) and comparing the two, Arko Du (Y) seems the stronger. And my current, trainwreck of a mixed set does let me manage to have Thunder Attack +1.
Because you need to be really close for the Spread type arrows of the Arko Du (Y) to be effective, because of the shorter critical distance of arrows underwater. Pierce or Rapid type arrows can be used from a longer range and still be effective. And overall, it's better to have higher raw damage first, elemental damage second. Plus, Power coatings give a good boost to your damage output, which the Arko Du doesn't have naturally and the Alatreon (or Zinogre) bow does and it'll last you longer than (just) having Close range coatings. But, Arko Du is more flexible with slots, so if you feel like doing something creative with adding skills to your set, go for it :)

Name of Armor and which gems please?
The armour is the full set of Lagiacrus U and the gems are from top to bottom:
Helm slot - Bombardier jwl 1
Mail slot - Attack jwl 2
Braces slot - Bombardier jwl 1
Faulds slot - Attack jwl 1
Greaves slot - Attack jwl 2
The talisman has zero slots and gives 6 points towards Bomb boost.

Thanks :)
Wolflord1995 No problem :)
As someone who's been using a bow, any advice?
Would this technically count as a final boss?
I think it is that game’s final boss.
Where is this on the map?
Under Moga Village.
