    You are the one who has operated both machines so we expect you to tell us the difference...but what I can say is you've been very lucky to have had the opportunity to run both machines and that is because of your ability to film and tell a story that keeps us all entertained...plus you have the kind of personality that makes your audience think of you as a ''friend" which in turn makes the manufactures want you to feature their equipment on your channel...And that makes it a win for all of us!

    Is this attempt number 2 ? Because I seem to remember a video, where a storm wiped out that crossover and pipe. Like I said in the comments of the other video, the Pipe needs to be on the "Upstream" side, not the Downstream side, and there needs to be 2 additional pipes in the event of any storms that produce excessive amounts of water, ie., floods.

    I've built alot of these Matt , you've got to put a control valve on the other side of the crossing So when it rains you can open the water flow more to prevent washing out the crossing.
    We use electric valves but for this simple design you would have to come down and manually open the valve. But it's only for duck season so won't be alot of effort only when expecting bigger rains.

    Mike, the speed of the 200 is unreal! In saying that I believe that you will be able to get the 210 just as fast when you make the necessary adjustments?? The 200 is a fine machine but I think that you have a good bit more of strength and adjustability in your 210. DP, this is coming from a guy who has not been in one but just watch your videos!! As always I appreciate you bringing us along on these awesome adventures, thank you very much Mike!!!!

    With some quick and easy math. My guess is that with approximately 3 ft of water above the bottom of the pipe, that fitting will receive around 470lb of force. It might just stay on there. I really want it to stay on there because I think this is a cool idea and I love to see people try new things. I'm team Matt on this one.

    This should work just fine. Water doesn’t really care what end the stand pipe is on. The good part is the beavers won’t be able to mess with it.
    I think you should take a scrap couple sections of logs and put them across the ditch tight to the bottom of the stand pipe then backfill some dirt to keep it on the culvert.
    I have seen this done before and it can work.

    • @Jdizzlemynizzle
      @Jdizzlemynizzle ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Why not just put it on the upstream side and avoid having to put logs and dirt in the way to keep it on the culvert?

    I gotta give Matt one thing, Perseverance and he has tons of it, I still think his Duck killing field will fail,that's a lot of water to hold back. I have been so surprised on the smoothness of the 200 your comments on the slight lack of power would explain why it is so smooth. Good on Volvo asking you to evaluate it knowing your not in the market for it. Keep up the good work Mike!! as long as you make content I will continue to watch.

    Nice review of this Volvo. What I like is the almost silent moving of the tracks. The sound these tracks make is very "solid", so perfect aligned, no (what other machiens have) standard "from factory" play and corresponding noise.
    And yes, a thumb would be handy on this machine also.

    Good idea, however, the standpipe needs to be upstream in the water though, NOT on the downstream end of the culvert pipe.

    • @BRUSHYSURFING
      @BRUSHYSURFING ปีที่แล้ว +11

      thats right its going wash the downstream side of the crossing bank as it bubbles up and over the end of the stand pipe.still a problem on the upstream side and it would need a spillway or outwash there or risk washing away the crossing.

      It will work just fine. Best part is the pipe will be in a dry area when it comes time to remove it in winter.

    • @IceMonkey82
      @IceMonkey82 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I agree that it really should be on the upstream side. Doing so would even sort-of create its own spillway because the falling water will hit the inside of the pipe and lose velocity. I imagine the reason for putting it on the downstream side is that they don't have a control valve and they want to be able to remove it when duck season is over. By being on the downstream side, it won't be under water when they try to remove it.

    • @KevinCoop1
      @KevinCoop1 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      If it were upstream, Matt would have no way to let the water out after duck season is over.

    Hasn't rained more than 5" inches in 100 years, 😂🤣😂 Can't wait until it snows and that thaws and then of course there's the soil erosion around Matt's flat end. I'm with you Mike, waiting for another failure film to come through. At this stage it would have been better to leave the Beaver dams in. 🤗 As for the 200, I think it definitely needs a thumb and it's a little bit on the light side when it comes to lifting. Your 210 relatively, isn't much bigger, but boy it's lifting power is nearly equal to a 220. I would expect a 200 to be not far of a 210 when it comes to lifting loads. Just my thoughts though and I only a viewer not an operator.

    Put two earth anchors in the wall (one on each side) and tight upp the stand pipe against the horizontal one with those , the pipe may wander of despite screws due to water pressure and this the may also cause damage to the seals if they "rip out " with the stand pipe , if this happens you may not be able to get the connection water tight again.

    Going to have to see the video if that pipe works or not. I think you should get the machine, providing you have use for it and finances allow you to.

    I think you gave the Volvo a fair shake within your given timeframe. You stated it didn't quite have the oomph for its size. Was that in comparison to the 210? Could you see a 'need' in the future where having two 200 series machines in the fleet makes sense?

    My thought is if you hadn’t already bought the 210, I could see you buying the 200 (with a thumb). The speed and creature comforts are the big pluses. I am assuming the price is similar.

    Nice machine, the speed really shows in the videos. As an operator you know best what is the nicest, and also the speed vs strenght is basicly what you need. Reliability is also a point, cannot test that in 20 hours and the service is very important, a machine costs the most when it is not working.

    Matt needs one of those giant rocks that you used at the river to hold that fitting on. Funny video.

    This would be the ideal place for a water control structure that made to control the water level for ponds. Agri drain makes them but u can make ur own for less money. The water level come in at the same level of ur outlet pipe. It have removable boards to to put inside the box to control the height of the water.

    Mike, I think that Volvo is the fastest, smoothest and gets more work done in the same amount of time than any machine that I have seen you operate. I don't know about the cost per hour, including deprecation would be compared to others but it looks a machine that fits your needs better than any of the others.

    My thoughts on the 200... add it to the fleet and get a thumb attachment to it. 👍
