Good to know that we're playing Sonic games in slo-mo Bonus: Sonic has to process things his actions, AND what he'll do running like THIS. He may run at the speed of light but so does his reaction time, god DAMN.
The issue with playing a game with Sonic running faster (especially games with speed boosts) is that we perceive it as an outside force would, which makes it more difficult to control. A better way of doing it would be like they do it in the Flash show, where we see it from his perspective, where he's running at a normal speed, but everything around him is slowed down, because technically we're playing as Sonic, so we should perceive them as he does, so enemies, obstacles, and the time itself should all slow down as he 'speeds up', while the character still moves and controls the same way.
that would be lame to look at though unless it was done in like an interesting way like maybe a scripted segment or like a power up of some kind bc i feel like if i were to be playing sonic and then everytime i get a good speed everything around me is just cheesy slow motion I'd get annoyed with it
Sonic can time travel break the light barrier and the fact he had infinite speed if they give him he's cannon speed every game would be over in like a second

You can stop going nutty, Graham--Princess Sally is a squirrel! As for how fast Sonic is, let's put it this way--in the time it takes to read this, Sonic can visit all the planets in the universe (even the ones we don't know about yet) and still be home in time for dinner! - The Sonic Archie Comics

as a mario guy i am too slow for this video, i looked away for a second and sonic had already burned up in the atmosphere but he lived becoz he had rings
Personally, I've always liked the theory that he usually doesn't do supersonic speeds in-game because it would cause serious collateral damage. His *whole thing* is having fun by fighting to protect nature and freedom, and exploring the planet. He has to limit himself to protect the things he cares about. At minimum, the constant sonic boom (Sonic Boom, SONIC BOOM) would shatter countless windows, give everyone hearing damage, and terrify non-sapient animals into near-permanent hiding. _Everyone would hate him._ In-game, he already exerts enough force on his environment to break some rock walls, and can generate hurricane force winds. Ramp that up by even a little more, and he'd be a constant natural disaster. The only times we really see him reach or exceed supersonic speeds naturally is when he's well clear of any nature and non-Eggman civilization that could be damaged, (Running up the giant chain in Sonic CD, or down the space elevator in Colors) And then there are the cases when the normal laws of physics don't apply, like Super Sonic, which is when we see light speed movement with no negative repercussions, like he's The Flash or something. But those are limited-time events, and he otherwise has to limit himself. Because while trouble keeps him running faster, let us not forget that it's to save the planet from disaster.

This feels more like Chaos Control than a boost
Sonic only says "I'm Sonic" when he's subsonic
The issue with playing a game with Sonic running faster (especially games with speed boosts) is that we perceive it as an outside force would, which makes it more difficult to control. A better way of doing it would be like they do it in the Flash show, where we see it from his perspective, where he's running at a normal speed, but everything around him is slowed down, because technically we're playing as Sonic, so we should perceive them as he does, so enemies, obstacles, and the time itself should all slow down as he 'speeds up', while the character still moves and controls the same way.
that would be lame to look at though unless it was done in like an interesting way like maybe a scripted segment or like a power up of some kind bc i feel like if i were to be playing sonic and then everytime i get a good speed everything around me is just cheesy slow motion I'd get annoyed with it
Wow, bro got really fast over the years, thats crazy.
Sonic can time travel break the light barrier and the fact he had infinite speed if they give him he's cannon speed every game would be over in like a second
6:15 is what everyone needs to see in their life
You really know the layout of the levels. Like how you broke the bridge to use another path. I won't be able to play as smoothly as you and you're going at a much faster pace.
The ending section was exhilarating.
3:28 That's just an amazing and beautiful celebration.
uhh
I think he watches cobi cause like he always did that
and also
name a sonic fan who didn’t watch cobi
6:15
Thank you
*6:16
I barely saw him
@@yordansicNo it should be 6:15 so we could have an second before sonic boost
@@T3ddybear99 Nope. Wrong.
I'm impressed that the physics engine can keep up and it doesn't result in clipping through walls.
I think sound boom at the start gives more speed than usally..
Imagine doing a TAS of this so Sonic just completes the level no problem
Would actually recreate the unleashed opening
Classic sonic ain't slow, it's just that his Green Hill zone is as big as the universe×10^69
and he's also a giant Boi
0:56
Why Classic Sonic hella slow?
Damn. Modern Sonic got that speed fs
Imagine this whole time....sonic games have been in slow-motion just so it was playable.
If this was sonic forces the video would be less than a minute long
1:25 OK at that point that’s not Sonic running, that’s just him using chaos control XD
I always thought of it as if Sonic goes by his canon speed in the games, we'd be unable to control him or keep up at all.
4:08
A metal gate stopped Sonic right in his tracks. A _metal gate_ did that.
How sturdy is this thing!?
Sonic once said he can run around the world before you can say: "Surprise."
The only time we see Sonic break the sound barrier in the games is in the opening cutscene of Sonic CD
2:38 I randomly paused it at this point to go do something, but why the heck did someone’s voice come in randomly? Also my OCD cannot get over the fact that he never does the “final trick” when he jumps through those rainbow hoops. Just never feels complete.
i recently realized you can finish the final tricks so until now i didnt know about it
Wow this is more glitched then sonic 06 thank god tehy reduced his speed for the normal one
I like to think Sonic has no limits, he just runs as fast as he wants/is necessary but doesn't overdo it so he doesn't hurt anyone.
My theory at this rate is Sonic CAN go this fast but it's like playing it like this.
He just literally can't comprehend this speed either unless he's running across the ocean or something
You can stop going nutty, Graham--Princess Sally is a squirrel! As for how fast Sonic is, let's put it this way--in the time it takes to read this, Sonic can visit all the planets in the universe (even the ones we don't know about yet) and still be home
in time for dinner!
- The Sonic Archie Comics
The classic sections actually look a lot more playable now compared to the modern with that speed looks like a mess to control
Idk classic sonic seems about the same
@Sonic44885 if you play generations classic sonics spin dash is insanely strong in this video it actually looks like the normal speed we see in older games.
it was a total mess making me die alot
as a mario guy i am too slow for this video, i looked away for a second and sonic had already burned up in the atmosphere but he lived becoz he had rings
_Everyone would hate him._
In-game, he already exerts enough force on his environment to break some rock walls, and can generate hurricane force winds. Ramp that up by even a little more, and he'd be a constant natural disaster.
The only times we really see him reach or exceed supersonic speeds naturally is when he's well clear of any nature and non-Eggman civilization that could be damaged, (Running up the giant chain in Sonic CD, or down the space elevator in Colors)
And then there are the cases when the normal laws of physics don't apply, like Super Sonic, which is when we see light speed movement with no negative repercussions, like he's The Flash or something.
But those are limited-time events, and he otherwise has to limit himself. Because while trouble keeps him running faster, let us not forget that it's to save the planet from disaster.
fun fact: if you boost mid air with this mod on sonic will fucking fly
this is truly a fact
5:48 "WoOoAoaohH!"
RIP Sonic
Sonic can out run a litteral black hole dude
5:43 he doesn't even go right through, the shockwave made by his boost destroyed them
First I saw Classic Sonic and said "Uhhh... I don't see anything wrong?"
But then Modern Sonic appeared and- GOD.
wtf why does this have so many views
Because it's quality content
Good content
looks like a mod from so long ago but it seems the title has got traction from a lot of people
Oops
3:45 that's why 😂
Starting to understand the rumors of the “blue blur”
Reminds me of the time warp in Shadow the Hedgehog!
Naw we be being Archie Sonic with this one
definitely Archie sonic game
@DarknesTheTrailblazer Fr👌
The game is literally breaking as you play
Classic Sonic is just the slightest bit faster and Modern Sonic is outpacing the cameraman
**OPPS**
how it feels to play gauss
Ohh crap 💀 That's insane
4:33 My guy discovered a new hidden path. Cool!
Why classic sonic so slow
i dunno i was confused too
Shorter legs
@@sonicmufflonmodern sonic can gain and maintain momentum far better than classic
Tails trying to catch up with sonic 💀
