@@PhenomRom Shroud should know of all people that climbing means more than aim. Aim can take you pretty far, probably ascendant, but understanding all of the agents and the utility usage and counter-utility, stalling pushes, countering ults, overall game sense and map awareness etc. etc. is the knowledge that's needed to become a great player, not just a good player.

@@josephBo idk i got diamond in my 1st season trying valorant, didnt even know any basics or what most abilities do, just had same mouse sens from earlier FPS games and little bit of gamesense.
@@tankata2 I feel that. My friends called me "all aim no brain" when I started. And I owned that lol. I was proud of my mechanical ability to outaim people, but when it came to positioning myself for clutches, stalling pushes, not ego peeking, I couldn't make the right decisions ever. So I felt like I was better than everyone just because I could win duels, but it wasn't until I really started playing agents from different roles that I could climb to ascendant from being stuck plat for a while
Shrouds Phantom aim is really satisfying. Lots of double dinks from long distance and spray control. Just a Pro.
There is no way someone tried telling shroud that characters matter the higher elo you are when he's radiant
well they kinda do (especially in solo queue), bc for example duelists can find more impact compared to a controller. if u ever watched curry you see hes struggling to carry on controller even tho hes top 1 multiple times.

It definitely does matter u can't be completely lost on an agent cuz it makes you less focused on actual gunplay.
Of course how much it matters is gonna vary, especially in comp - depending if you have insane mechanics and game sense like shroud, but come on... it helps.
if you suck at the shooting you,re gonna suck no matter what agent you play, so a team full of dueslists that can click heads consistently will win 90% of their games

A team full of duelists can win vs a meta comp but what if 'skill' is about equal, it doesnt change the fact knowing how to play your agent is helpful to the outcome of the game.also not having at least one controller is pretty detrimental. Saying "it doesn't matter" is wrong.
Watched a lot of shroud clips, and he doesn't pick duelist as much.

The real secret is to 5 man. No matter how good you are, solo queuing will get you hard stuck because you're gambling on the fact that your teammates can shoot back.

10:22, I totally agree with this. Do people think just because the game has abilities It's important who you play?( pro teams, sure, exception)
It's not something like League of Legends. This is a FPS game, you need to know how to move and shoot, everything else is secondary.
There's definitely characters more compatible for climbing solo, however if you're bad it won't make a difference. E.g if you're a good player and your playing sage , it's definitely harder to make plays than it is with jett/reyna to really try solo carry a team, nonetheless, if you can't click a head, it doesn't matter anyways. Also it's still important to maintain a team comp so if your entire team locks in and you don't have a smoker, you should be able to fill that role otherwise your chances of victory are far less assured without a smoker/duelist in a team.
