I bought my first pair of Grados thanks to a quick recommendation from Patrick in an older mail video. I did my research, and couldn't believe the hype. I TRIED to find bad reviews, and everyone just shined about them. So I got my 60i's and holy COW, IMMEDIATELY I was blown away from how they sounded... they lived up to every expectation I had!

I followed your advice Patrick and bought a Grado SR60e. I'm very happy with it. This gives a new dimension to my classical mp3 (320 or Flac) collection! Great value for money. I hear details in the music I never heard before. Pitty I don't live in the US (in Belgium I payd 119 € for it). You give great info in a now snobbish way about good audio-experience. I love it. Thanks! Marc

+marc schuyesmans you might also consider replacing the earpads with the G-Cushion or L-Cushion. Both gives a slight difference to the sound. I used the G-Cushion with my SR60e, and it makes the sounstage even wider and also much more comfortable to wear.

Which pair of headphones, from the Grado range, would have the most enhanced bass? For a budget price preferably (

The mentioned Wirecutter review says the best are the Sony MDR-7506. So, open or closed headphone preference set aside, which one wins then between the SR60e and the MDR-7506?

So, these or the SR80e's? Which one is better, if so, then is the difference significant enough to choose one over the other?

I've owned a pair of the SR60 Prestige Series since the 80's only had to replace the rubber ear covers (amazon). Great for quality listening. You men have a great web site but is there any site (on you tube) that informs us about recalls for faulty technical equipment (av receivers, tablets, computers, projectors etc?

i have these and everyone around me can hear it and think i have the sound all the way up when in reality ive got it at half. i dont really have a problem with the fact that i can hear other people with these on, its that they can hear my music... and its really loud.

These or the Philips SHP9500 for comfort + sound?

Love my grados. I the left ear kind of fell apart though which stinks. Also the lettering rubbed off super easy and these headphones barely leave my desk. The sound is impeccable and that's why I got them.

Huhu, finally a proper review that even someone who is not an audiophile person like me can understand. Though admittedly, had to google what is low end.

Posting from the SR80e's :) I have nothing bad to say about them. It's incredible. I've always ran Koss open backs and these Grado's are amazing. I wear IEM's in public so I have no need for closed back cans. I don't care about "extra" bass. These Grado's give the amount of bass that was intended by the sound engineer and that is all that matters to me. I actually heard subtle kick drums that I've never heard before, it was that kind of WOOF WOOF WOOF sound. If you like anything that is rock, alt, singer songwriter type artists you will love them. Honestly I listened to old Micheal Jackson and was amazed by all the shit you couldn't hear before.

you forgot to mention because of the open back design they don't dampen outside noise at all

He also forgot to mention the plus of being able to hear someone without taking them off and not sounding like it was recorded in a porta potty. Although the huge nonmuffled sound stage kinda pays for itself.

Very accurate review, sound is fantastic for the money. The sr80e are my go to headphones. I also own Sennheiser hd600 which I love but need Amplification. Sennheiser probably more accurate but Grado great sound Third of the price

This may be a very good review, but I couldn't take the exaggerated, hey-how-ya-doin' delivery. It doesn't feel like you're getting unbiased product advice when someone's working this hard to sound like they're doing a commercial.

A friend of mine has a pair of Grado's(don't remember the model #),and yeah I don't like being able to hear everything around me when I tried them out, plus I need a Mic with my cans, and usually use my cans when I'm at my PC at home so it's nice being able to block other people out, and my $13 Plantronics .Audio 355 Multimedia Headset does that that just fine with a boom mic, plus they have good highs, mids, and lows that have a good punch when pair with a good sound card that has a headphone amp like my ASUS Xonar DG, but I could use some recommendations on a good pair of IEM's aka Earbuds in the $50 and under range that have a build in mic for use with my Android phone.
