Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves | Full Guided Tour | Bhubaneswar | Odisha Budget Travel

In this travel video, I will be visiting the rock-cut caves, located just about 2.5 KM from Bhubaneswar ISBT bus-stand. These caves takes us back in time, somewhere around the 1st and 2nd centuries BC, where King Kharavela of the Meghavahana dynasty, widely regarded as the most powerful king in the history of Odisha, built beautiful rock cut spaces on the twin hills of Udaygiri and Khandagiri, for the Jain monks and offered them a place to stay and meditate.
Those ancient rock cut caves were first discovered by a young British officer Andrew Sterling in the 19th century AD. Out of the 117 caves that were built originally only 33 survive till this day, 18 caves are located in the Udayagiri hill and 15 in the Khandagiri hill.

Aapko Bhubaneshwar ISBT bus-stand utarna parega. Uhase hi aapko auto mill jayega. Bus stand se max 3-4 km hoga, autowala se bargain kar lena.
