- Welcome to brand new installment of From Pixels to Plastic! In the 34th episode, Pixel Dan takes a look at the brand new Mega Man model kit action figure from Kotobukiya! IS this the best Mega Man figure to date? Join Pixel Dan and find out!
Omg the good days I remember watching this when I was 6
Same here, and this time around I got the kit itself after looking for it since the first grade
Totally man same here
@@Retrospector04backup indeed
Bro same I was like 7
Its crazy people here in the replies watched this video when they were 7 (including me)
I forgot how much I love the Mega Man franchise
There's a saying that goes: use the right tool for the right job.
Use side cutters and a hobby knife to remove those "trees" bro. He is perfect for those who want to recolor him (painting by parts), but I guess not for people who are not into model kits and just want figures.
Watching you snap the parts off the runners like that made me cry a little. Get a pair of plastic nippers and a hobby knife. Savage :-(
Oooh, look at those _frosted tips._
He should use a file to sand down the extra plastic off the parts, I started to use it on my gundam kits when I actually bought a tool kit. It works really well, you can add a little paint to the empty space afterwards
Early Pixel Dan just radiates so much 2000s energy
I have never seen any of your other videos This is my first. Nice Vid man thanks for the energy thats not too over the top and not being annoying. You seem to share the same love for Mega Man as I have growing up I really like this vid.
same for me, and i both the figure right after, but the arm broke up, so i fixed, and i have the d arts ones
That is so cool the biggest down fall are the tabs that left over! I love that you get the face plates. Maybe if you heat up a exacto knife with a flame you could cut/melt those tabs off. Anyway nice review.
Great in-depth review of this figure! HATE that there is flashing (the blemishes) from detaching the pieces. That's REALLY not cool since the price is so high for him. Passing on this MegaMan. Thanks for the review!
Great review Dan! Personally I prefer static figures cause I'm always afraid that they might break if I switch poses too much. Still loved this figure. I want a Megaman in my shelf!
Thank you Pixel Dan that was very helpful since i am thinking about getting him
Anyone else noticed the cat? No? Maybe its just me!
Dude, Rock has an arm cannon that can shoot giant blue lazers! !YOU CAN'T TOP THAT!
Lol love it PixelDan! Megaman is a c-l-a-s-s-i-c. You're right about the price, for $39.99 I might expect a 12 inch heavy plastic super articulated Mega Man, with no work required thank you! thumbs up
This never gets old
Can you buy me it because my dad don't want to buy it
I feel you man
Have you never built a plastic model before? You can't say the plastic connectors are a con because MOST models will have those. You're supposed to carefully trim the pieces with a sharp blade.
nice reviews and as for your negatives... use sidecutters to remove the parts and trim off the flash with an X-Actoblade BEFORE assembly. and pieces that aren`t joints CAN be glued for extra strength in construction.... and as for statues... yeah, Koto does those too but they ALSO make the highly praised and fiddly HMM Zoids models that are a LOT more complicated... they know what they are doing.
YES FINALLY I GOTTEN MY PROTOMAN KOTOBUKIYA MODEL KIT!! My tools (finger nail cliper, scissors, cat nail clipers, nail filer
Dan I thank you I had 100 hundred bucks I was going to save But I would rather spend 80 of it for this and since Im in a class for shaping modeling and painting plastic like substances my new project for this semester is to recreate at least all of the levels from MM3
try sanding the knotches down and then try buffing them out with a dremmel tool because it has a buffing attachment but you may have to buy some buffing material
Are you planning to review the Megaman D-Art figure?
3:45 epic retro derpface
the building makes it fun!
You can get plan decal sheets that you just use your printer with, so you can get some practice.
i personally love model buiding and i love figures so win-win!
Dan, if you ever want to fix that Decal on the E Tank, just replace it with Auto Pin Striping.
Normal mode in Mega Man 2? I'm not impressed.
These are aimed towards the modeling fans, not so much the toy fans. Really he's meant to be posed once and put on display. :O
are you really complaining about gate marks?
it's like a kid complaining about crayons being too colorful
they aren't model figures, they are model kits
The blemishes on the kit is normal, it's a model kits not a action figure. If you want some thing nice you can always get a figurine, as for model kits, involves sanding, spray paint and after some labor you will have a finished model kit that'll be amazing.
5:49 STOP MOVIN ME
yea you are supposed to cut the blemishes off before you put the figure together while taking the pieces off
toe nail clippers help with the blemishes someone probably mentioned by now since the video is old lol
the blue bomber has bin my favorite video game since when I was a kid
Pixel Dan, I would just use a nail filer to sand of the blemishes. Trying to cut them of makes it a million times harder and less efficient
Ok. i know this video is from 2010 but i just bought these and here is how you fix these "problems" guys. first off you use a scalpel to cut the sprews off. secondly you use sandpaper on the blemishes (if you have any) next you glue the figure together with ZAP A GAP (the parts you dont want coming apart) its simple as that. as for the decals you can always paint the E back on with Cel-Vinyl paint, SEAL IT with GORILLA GLUE. NO OTHER GLUE. it will BOND THE PAINT TO THE PLASTIC. Trust me.
I can't wait to buy one. But rq question are the eye decals?
you have BUCKY O HARE in the PACKAGE!!!!! SWEET
totally getting this and photonman!
Whoooooo! I just ordered mine like yesterday and it already got shipped!
You know, a knife isn´t going to cut those things. You could´ve used a nail cutter. I cuts them perfectly.
MW Luigi if you build anymore model kits after that you should consider getting an angled cutter made specifically for plamo, they're pretty much the cleanest cuts you can get and with a bit of really fine sandpaper you can almost make the nub marks invisible
tip: take a exacto knife and remove the extra plastic to make it look better :)
Nice review. I kinda wish the elbows, knees, shoulders, ad hip joints were black like on the box art. It adds a certain robot flare. You should definitely check out the Mega Man X figure from Bandai's D-Arts line. It looks sweet. In addition, it is in scale with the older model kits at approximately 5 inches tall with just as much articulation as the one you reviewed here. Its due out in April in Japan, and May in the U.S. It retails for roughly $39.99. The pictures are very promising.
your one of my inspiration on creating videos. And I'm going to make a rockman review too
so thanks.
Dan, you've done an error: the "arm cannon" is named Mega Buster and the blue shot is the Charged Shot, not the mega buster!
I have a question: will you review the Kotobukiya Zero model? THX and please answer!
I'll be honest Dan, the way the "E" came out on the energy tank kind of gives it a little more character and I like the way it looks, so don't beat yourself up about it.
Shoulda trimmed the flashing. Figure looks great though!
beast mode!
5:50
Megaman's like "UMAD BRO?!"
Wow its much bigger than I tought!
those white nub marks can be fixed if you sand them down with a file or sand paper (I suggest a file).
ever heard about the mythical "Sanding Down the Nub Marks"?
i would like to know is the kotobukiya good for stop motion
@critic2o5 I'm not saying they are bad because they are 8-bit. But there isn't a lot you can do with 8-bit graphics. For example, some of the characters sprites are colored differently from their artwork because of sprite limitations.
@SuperGoldenGlory2001 Actually they have Megaman battle network model kits. One of the model kits is a gutsman.
I might get this since I have protoman but I might get the d- arts one
Did you try using a nail file to grind down the blemishes, Dan? That's what I used to do with my old Gundam kits. I need to pick this guy, I've been hyped for him since the line was first announced. But man, those import figures destroy your wallet.
@Mandalorian30 are you going to get megaman battle network model kits, like gutsman and protoman?
Did you know that there is mega man action figures from the old tv show? Yes, it has mega man, protoman, cut man, guts man, Rush and more! These are toy/action figures. And the bomb and the cut blade can be put in to mega man's buster and can be fired..
Oh i am Getting it
I have that mega man and I love it
I just got mine on amazon. I'm pretty intimated by this.
this is coming from someone who isn't very artistic with my hands, never built a model kit before. I might be in a little over my head
the arm canon is called a mega buster
I remember you from the video game years
I want it for Christmas
I want a Roll figure! :D she looks so cool! :3
cool video i think i will buy it
haha I was so gonna recommend the exacto knife thing.......
I’m a big fan of mega man
very cool looking figure but why don't they just put it together before they sell it? I just don't get it.
haha you better get protoman, i wanna see a review on that.
but i had a quick question, if i had to get 1 mega man and 1 protoman figure, which would you suggest?
Omg i have a figure that looks like that but its about 5 years old...but OMG i want one of those
The best Mega Man is the Atelier Sai resin model....amazing and rare/expensive
do any of the stores have them still
Augh the nub marks are ducking terrible.
Thanks for the review, I really want to pic this guy up.
I had that action figure when I was 11 but I lost it sadly 😢
I've been looking for a figure to put in my super smash bros display case, did you figure out a way to remove those ugly plastic pieces? Or have you found a better figure?
i want protoman! that will be cool
I have in my stuff a Metabee figure of the same style and that guy is always falling to peices, too!
Im getting one today
I think the highly posable options really sell him. As the video ran, I just let my imagination run with possible photo comic strip ideas...had there been some equally posable boss forms for him to oppose, that is.
I found on eBay it almost cost 30.00$ this fergering look Epic!
0:48 cat was like fuck off ._.
my fav megaman game is megaman maverick hunter x for my psp
OMG I WANT THIS FREAKIN TOY!!
But i live somewhere that u cant get this toy :[
***** woah, could you tell me where in the hell did you get that price?!
Dan has TALL money that he can buy all those toys.
I prefer my D-Arts Rock. He is so awesome and comes with Rush!
i loved mega man..where can i buy it?i meant link
2:15 Only $39.99? I would gladly pay that for some of the Mega Man X Model Kits instead of $50+.
i really want a Forte version
I want to get one in September the 2
you should go get an "E" at your local craft store!
Hay Dan use sand paper 2 smooth out the bumps
I wish For Kotobukiya Protoman
not in my opinion....well...i love the fact he comes with rush but u cant make ur own set of eyes.
i use to play mega man 1.2 and 3
its not an arm cannon, its called the mega buster.
Its a model kit. Sand down the nubs(blemishes)
