Wow Lads you have both done an amazing job to rescue this amazing car from the brink of it falling even more in value and being sold on to many other owners who would have possibly given it less and less amounts of care and attention that it would have been needing as time went on till it had got to the point that it got broken for spares or even parked up and left to slowly die just like so many other amazing cars have succumbed to over the years making them almost impossible to get hold of a good example that will be looked after but also used and enjoyed by the owner, just as the car was designed to be in the first place, so well done to have saved this RS from becoming another story of a great car that is sitting rotting away on somebody’s driveway like so many of the iconic HotHatch’s from the 80’s like the Nova’s, Astra MK2 GTE’s escort S1&S2 RS turbos Lancia Delta integral etc etc I tried for a good 4 or 5 years to get my hands on a delta Evo 2 that was just sitting on a guys driveway becoming more rusty and green with moss and turning pink, it was crazy as it had BF Goodrich brake lines, magnex exhaust, TSW Imola alloys fitted to it so it had be loved and cared for at some point in its recent past but I was given the same line every time about the car was going to be given the TLC and be back on the road to get used and enjoyed, but the last time I went to enquire about the car it was gone and the owner told me that he was sick of being asked if it was for sale etc so he had it taken away and Scrapped and few months prior and did bother to give me a call and let me know and I was ready to pay a fair price for it even though it was in a bad way, this was about 9 years ago now and it still annoys me how many people have been the same as me only to be shot down in the end, but anyways loving the new update and keep up the great work you lads do and I’m looking forward to your next video on this or any of the other EvilGT fleet. “Saving a awesome car from a destiny of rotting on a driveway” badge well and truly earned buddy 👍

It's always better to replace those studs rather than reuse the old as they can stretch/weaken when being removed and retightened and also the old ones will be even harder to deal with next time......

Had a little chuckle to myself, with the ST in the workshop I would have been tempted to “borrow” the studs and nuts. Then again in “true evil GT fashion” you would have had more of a headache with more rounded nuts

Soak the bolts in Jif lemon juice overnight
Them bolts. Next time clean them up with a wire brush after you've soaked them in wd.
If you've reused the shocks after it had been lowered the fluid inside would be too used to the added compression so returning back to normal probably caused added strain to top mount??
Been a truck driver myself bet them truckers were cursing you on that estate disturbing there rest 😅
I miss my mk2 RS lux2, I had to sell it because fitting 2 kids in the back was a nightmare. Awesome car and I got to take in on the Autobahn and stretch its legs properly when I lived in Germany for a while. 2 speeding fines as not all of the Autobahn is derestricted. Kept it for 4years and made loads of money when I sold it

@evilgt That undertray is not correct for the rs, it's missing the front extensions. That's a tray for a focus st. At high speed that will fly off and shatter into pieces behind you. If you need some extensions hit me up

Cupra is Perfect example of my tt hahaa, people pull a face when I say what I’ve spent but when you do brakes, refurb all suspension subframes etc it adds up🤣🤣

I bought a secondhand Ultimate green RS with 3800 miles from Newcastle it was really rusty underneath, It sat on my driveway and the front mesh grilles rusted, the rear spoiler has foam pads under it to stop it rattling on the back window, the rear bumpers rub on the arches and cause rust. I sold mine with 6000miles on the clock. Loved it but they are shockingly bad build quality. Mate bought his from new and said his was the same. Mine was a dry days only car. Put me off Fords.

Top work lads👌quick top anything that's a none moving part like your carrier bolts etc copper grease life out of them makes it easier for you anyone else in future I believe
Caliper carrier bolts should be thread locked not greased. The sliders should be greased
@@clifton1989 never used threadlock on carrier bolts before also copper grease and never had issue,yes if moving part such as flywheel bolts then threadlock but each to there own buddy
May be the passenger side fender needing adjustment rather than the bumper taking into account the bumper lines up on the drivers side so theoretically it's at the correct angle.

Stop really well you replace them with new disc and pads years later and you have to bed them in properly mad. So what do I do when the car is New to make the brakes work better straight away
