If its not a boost pipe, the symposer diaphragm or MAP sensor you could try removing the KAM fuse, no.26 in the engine bay, for 30 seconds to see if the resets your EML and oil temp/boost gauge issues. 👍
Jheez this just shows how much ford/mazda/volvo shared on all their models in that era and ford continues to use volvo designs of that era even today . I did an oil change on a 2020 MKZ and it looked like ford era volvo components turned into a turbo 4 cylinder. Main point here is that the p1/c1 5 cylinder cars and more used whatever terrible grade of steel it was for the shared subframes amongst the models. Although the subframes vary a bit for each model and drivetrain configuration. Intentional poor choice of material so these fall off the road after a set amount of time I guess. Great work keeping this one going. My Quebec salted v50 is almost identically shaped subframes and in rust crust condition. Still keep it going just like u guys! Keep it going!
Keep at it Benji, it's great watching your video's seeing all the local sites and places i usually go . Might bump into you one day and shake your hand for keeping us all entertained.
From a fellow Fix Or Repair Daily owner,it's just a Ford doing Ford things, keep on keeping on,they're like the Severn bridge maintenance schedule, you think you've done but it all starts again,Elton John "it's the circle of life" 🤦♂️🤣
Please be gentle with my new car 😂 I've got myself a chunk of change to throw at Anton for tickets when you decide to palm this off 😂 Keep it up, I know it must be tricky without Leeroy, but your smashing it as a sole trader!
MAP sensor guys. Fun story. MAP means Manifold Absolute Pressure. The sensor is pre throttle so it's actually named incorrectly 🤭 this is why people add boost gauges. Believe it or not there are no oil sensors (only a low pressure sensor which is useless) so all 3 of those gauges are not accurate, 2 being "guesstimates" 🤣 that's why the oil temp has gone too, it uses the map sensor 🤣🤣🤣
Wonder if it could be plenum related if not boost pipe? Had an RS back in 2014 and fitting one of those swanky plenums both looked good and for sure improved pick up a little bit too... Sure there may be a nice manufacturer out there who could supply you a freebie 😁🤞🏼
Ford cars are a endless project mate I do not like to be driven hard. It will just show up their weaknesses time after time but it is looking sweet now.
split pipe on the boost controller, or the boost feed to the gauge gas blown off......or the turbo is hanging off the back of the head and all the manifold nuts have come loose. but these volvo engines are bullet proof or so i keep hearing but i’m having my doubts
Honestly, I wasn’t sure on how I felt about this channel at first when I seemed like all the builds were “look what someone else did for us” but your honestly so likeable and now I don’t miss a video 🤣 I love seeing people get stuck in and having a go so I’m loving the content please keep it coming!!
Wasn't sure if the channel would be as good without the banter between Lee and yourself Ben, but it's still brilliant just in a different way. I have really enjoyed watching you learn about the car and mechanical repairs in general, genuinely fantastic content. And you picked the perfect car for this, a shitheap, rotbox, Focus, exactly the thing you needed for continued problems and fixes.
Symposer diaphragm sounds like it’s torn down a delete on it as all they do is make noise too the cab but I’m loving the rs can’t wait too see it finished ❤
Benji did you fix the boost issue? My boost pipe that goes into the plenum always pops out and causes no boost and extra flutters thats how i know mines come out. Tiny black pipe on the left side of the plenum
@@EVILGT you could be right about that Ben 😂. Either way it's a fantastic channel with plenty of banter and knowledge and it deserves to keep growing 👍
I think anyone thats ever bought a 2nd hand car especially a modified one will utter the words "some wanker" at least once a week when working on it
🤣🤣🤣

Good luck , clutch is a consumable so expected , a lovely car now and when finished will be fully sorted , good luck. Great video 👍👍

Awww noooo gutted for you mate ! but Ash and you will sort it no probs 👍
You have way more patience that i would. I would get the wheels aligned and then take the steering wheel of and and put in on center
Great effort benji, it’s been saved from the scrap heap now, done a good job
Thanks 👍
It’s looking great with the work you done. With these older cars you will always find more work to do
You should buy a facelift S3 and make it better than an Rs3
👀👀👀
Love the sound of these and the st's i know its a volvo engine but what a noise i'd love one ❤❤

Looking so good, another step forward mate and of course one to the side. I like to call it the dance of life.
Get a smoke tester - saves loads of time chasing boost leaks

😵😵😵 thanks for this 👌🏼
@@EVILGT the MAP sensor is near the drivers headlight on the boost pipe, the sensor wouldn't cause a boost leak though....
Looks great. Good work Ben and Ash.
With torque figures on a stage 2 better end up with a single mass flywheel kit. Standard dual mass isn’t gonna last long, especially with track days
awww I feel your pain Ben, so frustrating, I'm sure you will sort it, great episode again mate❤️💪👌🤘🤟
Keep going Benji what a transformation on the Rs mate big well done 👍🏻
Thanks mate 👍🏼
Keep the content coming Benji 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
youve done a brilliant job here no matter the struggles, you should be proud of youself

Same thing happened to mine years ago, map sensor sorted it

Just fallen in love with the wife all over again she heard you say no boost she said I bet he’s blown a boost pipe off 😂😂 proud moment 😂😂
😵😵😵 I’d say marry her but you already have!

Had mine 8 years, gets driven properly hard even with trips to Nurburgring never had any problems
Very enjoyable as always 👍
Well done Benji. Hope you are making money to keep the channel going.
😅😅😅 thanks mate 🍻
Admire your tenacity Benji and your (wife’s patience Im guessing) still worrying for you about the £ numbers making sense
Same 😅👍🏼
Might be worth putting a Volvo S60R clutch on it. They handle the power better
MAP sensors are prone to failing on these which then give the symptoms u have
Just when u think sorted the car doesn't agree does look mint thoe.
Typical! Thanks mate 👍🏼
When doing the tracking you have to keep the steering wheel heald with a clamp

The gauges work via can , there are no pipes to the boost gauge.
Fancy taking my car for a bit of content and following awesome building it from 240bhp to ~400bhp?
At least you can get a milkshake I got to maccy d and every time I go there is non
🤣👆🏼 usually the case
Whats this track day I am near Donnington it says private event who do I get ticket off please
Speak to @officiallygassed mate 👍🏼
If you didn't have bad luck you would have no luck at all. I know that feeling ☹☹
How have you not spilt that milkshake?
Professional 🤣
Keep at it❤
Scrap it 😂
You should Ford this car off, it’s a money pit and get an Audi S3 8v / 8p or the MK 3 Astra GSI N or M reg and convert that
Did u centralise the rack
This is in the video 👍🏼
Maf sensor
Take steering wheel off and put it straight 😂
Came here to say MAP sensor, I’ll see myself out 😁

My dad had no boost on his st same symptoms check the boost solenoid under the drivers wheel arch area

I had a similar fault with the gauges not working and it turned out to be an esp fault with a faulty wheel sensor and pick up ring/bearing.
