@@thejohn6614 I know! The car looks to be a '90s Toyota, long before electric power steering, can the hydraulic system screw up that bad too?
@@nthgth I don't see how. I'm not an expert on steering systems but I would think the worm drive wouldn't work that way.
So between the rack and pinion which the pinion was stripped out most likely. There is a hydraulic control valve. When you turn the steering wheel it engages the power steering. Then when the rack runs out the hydraulic pump hits a pressure relief valve which sounds like moaning. Without this the steering wheel and power steering pump enters a positive loop feedback like in the video. Also destroys you clock spring in the steering wheel as well.

Same. It’s always funny to have incredible stupid custom complaints. Had two complaints about the windows didn’t go up or down. And they had to cover the windows with duct tape so water didn’t leak in. The problem was the button on the drivers door had been pushed down so windows gets disabled.
I’m so glad that:
1. I don’t live in the north where all metals turn to dust over time
2. I work at a diesel shop where we maintain our own fleet, meaning we fix our own mistakes and 9 out of 10 we know what we are working with and we don’t get unpleasant surprises with people not maintaining their cars properly.

THE CRAZY STUFF I'VE SEEN! Rich Infiniti owners and what they think constitutes warranty work. I almost got fired for telling a guy his 22+ year old rotted I30 wasn't worth fixing cuz the repairs would be around 6k and the car was worth about 500.00 dollars. The subframe was swiss cheese, the engine had 290K on it, the frame was rotted as in I dunno how the control arms and other parts were still attached to the car and they weren't in some places. Ugh, the stupidity...

Agreed. It's probably harder to do bolt the exhaust in place than it is to weld it. Plus, it looked fairly clean. 8/10

No, not really impressive. Your cars like the Buick have big ass engines. In Europe where I live we tow our house trailers with normal cars like a VW Golf, something you need to buy a truck for in the US. The most impressive I've ever seen was in the 1990's a small Suzuki offroad car - a Suzuki Samurai - towing a big ass semi truck with trailer. Couldn't see if the trailer was loaded, I guess not. That model existed only with 45, 64 or 80hp engines with 1-1.3 liter. I believe it was only possible because of the 4WD the Samurai has. And the Semi could not help. I was able to see a broken driveshaft secured under the truck with ratchet straps.

it’s a funny convoy but sadly it’s just the lead car with the SUV doing the actual hauling of the trailers…unless i missed something and the SUV really is just there for traction and not actually pulling anything
@@seanthiarno. You’re not towing anything of any significance with a Golf. That Buick does not have a big engine; even if it did, towing capability is more due to the frame than the engine. If that was Roadmaster you might have something. Looked like a Park Avenue with the corporate 3800 V6. Very reliable engine with mostly acceptable power. It’s not any kind of super capable towing package.
@@jamesjarrait2231 Newsflash - just because US-American do it different doesn't mean it's the only way. I've towed big ass camping trailers and even a horse trailer with two cold blood horses in it with a VW Golf here in Germany. It comes down to traction and gear ratio. I've seen a small Suzuki 4wd pulling a semi out of a snow bank, because it had traction and the semi did not. Only US-American believe you need a big ass car like an SUV or a small truck to tow.

Had a new 2012 Escape make farting sounds from the front passenger seat. They never found the source, even swapped out the entire seat and I traded it in after 6 months. Believe it or not, I got an even bigger lemon, dumped it after 6 months too.

Lithium batteries can explode. Lead acid does not have a thermal runaway potential. The chemistry doesn't have an exothermic mode.

Ok, on the "customer states noise when turning left" thing, I had a similar issue in my brand new 1987 Ford Ranger when I was stationed at Ft. Bragg.
I had put my Soldier's Common Tasks Manual on the dashboard of the truck. As I was driving, my left speaker would "cut out". Took me almost a week to figure out that my SCTM was sliding on and off of the speaker as I would make turns.
