This is really helpful thank you! I've been struggling with finding the right background and how to create the right visual mood for my shop overall. I'll be looking at more of the resources you offer.

Without training that professional photographers get, lighting and light modifiers along with high-quality cameras and lenses you never can achieve a level of quality that pros can deliver.

Photography is a skill that can be developed over time and we all have to start somewhere. I’ve seen many professional ladies deliver stunning photos with minimal gear. It’s the knowledge that’s important, but that doesn’t have to come from training. Many professional photographers learn from experience.

@@robynsacademy I am certainly glad that you defund for me what photography is and how one learns the skill. My short experience with photography could not possibly provide me with such insight. I got my first camera in 1965 and started basics of learning black and white photography, film development and printing, all that under the watchful eye of a very strict European teacher. Yes I could have learns all that by reading the books and making tons of mistakes. It would have taken me much longer to learn what a professional photographer / instructor was able to teach me in relatively short time. That was just basics. I counted and took college classes many seminars, owned several studios and I am learning even now. Now if you look at the title it was talking about 123 photography on cheap and no real experience. If you want to make lots of sales it is all about presentation. To present product in a most appealing way you need experience of the pro, good lighting equipment and quality camera and lease.

@@mikeabc5355 The title is how to "better" product photos for people who can't afford to have a professional photoshoot for every handcrafted product and have no interest in becoming a professional photographer but embrace their skills in crafting. As a professional photographer with many years of experience and a wealth of knowledge (from various sources), I was simply sharing my knowledge , as you so kindly pointed out. Learning from another photographer can shorten this process for many who want to master the basics of product photography. Thanks for commenting.

@@robynsacademy What you did is good and I understand somebody selling a handful of items can afford professional photography. My comment was simply that without training, experience, and good equipment, it is not possible to obtain truly outstanding results. Yes, you can get a record shot and try to sell your product but if you want to increase sales or start with a bang then you need to get a professional I have on a number of occasions dropped my rate in order to help a promising startup with the understanding that price will be higher later.:)
