thanks for this information, I really love your videos. I have a question, as a hata yogui we hold every asana 30 or 60 seconds, many of them feels like stretching, do you think that we can consider this as a passive stretching? in which stretching category would the asanas be?
Hi Estela! I find many of the Yoga poses are quite active, for example, if the pose is done standing, single leg, or in a lunge position with the back leg extended. So while they may seem static, they are quite active - I actually love using them to develop tension in a stretched position. Yoga is amazing for that, in my opinion!
Stretching is abolutely fine as part of a naintenance routine! As far as time, it very much depends on your goals! If you are looking to increase flexibility, you will have to put in more time. Just make sure to strengthen as well ;)
I always put my passive stretching at the end of my session, stretching the muscles that I have trained during the session. My mobility is pretty good after much work to improve it,so I tend to hold my static stretches for about 30 seconds each.Do you think this is sufficient?

Thanks for this! If train 4x a week, can i stretch the muscle after i worked it out in the day or will it damaged my recovery?
You can definitely stretch and it won't damage anything ;)

Hi Mark, this is certainly OK if it feels good and allows you to maintain the work you have done to improve your mobility :) Good job!
