    Don't understand the criticisms. That you live in a place w/o safe biking opportunities is not the bike's fault. You will have that issue with any bike.Why even mention it in this review? The bike and battery is UL certified. Why criticize they don't advertise that? The important point is it is UL certified. Don't get this review.

    I have a 1s which has 7 gears along with the 4 levels of pedal assist and I like it quite a bit. I love the looks (and others have commented on its design) as I replaced my old road bike and wanted something similar with an electric assist. The seat has been an ongoing issue and I just received a supplemental insert piece for the seat post tube and will see if that works- if not the bike becomes worthless to me. The seat issue caused me to really hurt my knee on a long ride which has sidelined me for some time. All the other features work well however even with the technology capabilities I'm not really using its full potential. The bike for me, all street or bike path riding, has been top-notch regarding comfort.

    i feel like non-bike people will think this bike is attractive, but the lack of a real seat tube and the high top tube really limit the functionality of the bike

    Although 90% of my biking is done on roads or cycle paths I´m a bit worried about the effects of no suspension? Especially on longer trips...

  • @andypeiffer5
    @andypeiffer5 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    I like the alarm feature. However...
    1) No suspension
    2) No handlebar adjustment
    3) No power throttle
    4) A Fingerprint reader (which all struggle when conditions aren't perfect)
    5) Low power battery
    6) Gimmicky ChatGPT which needs internet
    How the fuck is this a $2500 bike?
    Is it the carbon fiber that break on a hot day?

    It's not the bike's fault that americans don't respect cyclists or that the government doesn't build safe bike lanes in inner cities

  • @krbtube

    Interesting there’s not a UL logo on the bike anywhere. My guess is the bike you have is from old stock assembled before the UL testing was done. It may be the exact same design that passed lab testing after it was assembled but how do you prove that to a landlord or others who require your bike to be UL?

    HI Josh, thanks for your review. I too am in NC but in a location where i can hop on my bike and take off. I have had my Urtopia Carbon 1S since December so have not done a lot of riding but i expect that to change now. My biggest concern is the inability to adjust my seat. With the new Pro bike, which can do a seat adjustment i was wondering if Urtopia will add a feature to the 1S so it can be modified for seat adjustment. any thoughts?

    You will not die if you bike on roads that cars also drive on. I've been doing it for 20 years, I do it all the time in east TN that has zero bike-friendly infrastructure, just use common sense and be aware of your surroundings. You really don't have to drive to a bike path just to use a bike...

    • @silverdlr
      @silverdlr ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I couldn't agree more with this comment. I used to ride through Brooklyn to downtown Manhattan, and even though NYC introduced some painted bike lanes, as long as you are observant you can navigate safely. Just get out there and enjoy it (safely).

    • @bobcloughjr
      @bobcloughjr 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Contrary to your "opinion" people do in fact die riding bikes on roads and much more frequently thanks to distracted driving 70 percent of drivers are doing nowadays.

    • @nathandavidhall
      @nathandavidhall 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bobcloughjr no shit that it's possible, people also die in cars on roads everyday. My comment obviously meant that you're not guaranteed to get hit if you bike on actual roads, but of course you need to stay hyper aware of your surroundings (esp cars making left turns into your direction, and cars making right turns going your same direction) and wear a helmet

    • @MiketheNerdRanger
      @MiketheNerdRanger 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Get out of here with that comment. There's nothing wrong with wanting more bicycle infrastructure.

    • @nathandavidhall
      @nathandavidhall 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MiketheNerdRanger no shit, pretty dumb conclusion to make from saying it’s possible and safe to bike without perfect separate bike paths. Obviously I use bike lanes and paths every chance I get, but I’m not going to wait til the US turns into the Netherlands to use biking as a viable replacement for driving, and this country would be better off with more people doing it on the roads as is so we’d get better infrastructure faster

    Question- do you feel 350 motor give enough power and speed? I have a 750 motor retrospect electric bike, but been looking at this bike for a while and just need some input. Thanks

    • @deansmits006
      @deansmits006 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my experience non a 65lb ebike, 350w should be fine for lower speeds, riding in the city. 15-18mph tops. On a 35-40lb bike? Even better. Not adequate for 20-28mph class 3, but this is a class 2 I think

    The bike looks nice, but I am a bit hesitant to jump on board for various reasons; the first being the price tag. I can, however, understand your drive to a bike safe area situation despite it not being the bike company’s fault. I now live in an area where I must drive to a bike trail to safely ride my bike. So, me owning an e-bike is pointless. However, I recently lived in a large city and cycled a LOT. But seeing this 33lb bike makes me cringe when I think of the many times I had to pickup my bike to climb or run down subway stairs.😬! That would be a tough haul especially if you have your groceries in your backpack, which was a norm for me. Nice review though.
