The car they were killed in, known as the “Warren car”, was stolen about a month before they were ambushed from the driveway of Ruth Warren in Topeka, Ks. Just a few miles from where I live. Mrs. Warren had to go to Gibsland, La.and had to sue Henderson Jorden, the sherif and one of the lawmen in the ambush team, to get her car back. He wanted to keep it knowing it’s potential value. Not sure which was worse, Bonnie and Clyde or the lawmen that gunned them down in cold blood. All lawmen at the time were scared to death of Clyde Barrow and with good reason. Clyde was the real deal and 9 lawmen died trying to capture him.
It is understandable, given the circumstances and the point in history, why authorities ambushed Bonnie and Clyde. Today, it might be considered a crime to just shoot the two, even though they were criminals. (At least in some states.)
I know they were bad people killed innocent people I understand but deep down they are criminal legends of the 1930s I don't give them respect what they did but they were people too but made wrong choices in there lives that ended in heartache and bloodshed

Frank Hamer wasn't going to let him live to kill again. Clyde vowed many times that he'd never be taken alive so they had to do it the way they did. The funny thing is, if they were just caught and put in prison and not ambushed, Bonnie and Clyde wouldn't be anywhere near as famous as they are today.

The original paint was cobra grey, however Bonnie and Clyde painted it over with a desert sand color, the reason people know that is because partly due to the evidence of the car itself, and because of personal belongings of Clyde himself, the car is currently either in Gunter or Nevada, you can pick, but I side with it being in Gunter
