Very nice, it's coming together nicely. The standard size enclosure is a very nice thing, I also have a whole stack of equipment I built over the years. The little brass boxes make it very easy to solder stuff to, I like to use the commercially made ones from silver sheet metal.
At frequencies above 1 GHz, the inside of the metal (copper, bronze or brass) case must also be coated with a thin layer of silver. Also, PCB tracks and conductors operating at frequencies above 1 GHz need to be coated with silver. To reduce conduction losses.
Thanks man! For FR4 the main losses are from the roughness of the copper to clad contact, so plating does not help much.. I don't remember who tested it, I think was Matjaz S53MV
@@AllElectronicsChannel The point here is not that it does not have a very strong effect, but the fact is that over time, oxide forms on the surface of the case and conductors made of copper and its alloys and it conducts microwave signals much worse, which pass only over the surface. But silver and silver oxide conduct microwave currents almost as well and allow you to get more stable parameters for a long time.
@@AllElectronicsChannel uhmmmm at 10ghz, water is an good absorber. isn't it? ;) no, Im just kidding. Some plastics, polymers and ceramics are very lossy at 10GHz. May be an interesting subject to investigate the tangent loss of materials with vna and cavity resonator

Great work! Good to see it all coming together
Thanks man!!

😛😛
Its nicely coming together!
Thanks mann
Looks neat!
Thanks!!

Thanks! The tracks are actually silver plated, hehehe. I used a silver plating solution. I did not silver plate the brass
Qual material e onde encontrar essas blindagens?
It is 0.3mm brass sheet hand soldered around the pcb
May I ask where did you get SRD?
Aliexpress!
It would be great to take a full course of rf microwave
Hi Greg, may be you'll need to put an absortive material such as ferrite sponge in the 10GHz box to avoid sharp waveguide resonances
Yep!! We need to discover a cheap absorber

Do you have AliExpress, Amazon, etc. affiliate links? We can support the channel that way too. Curious about that coax!
Good ideia!! I will create an affiliate link from aliexpress with the sellers I buy! The coax is rg402, also from aliexpress.
@@AllElectronicsChannel sadly India banned aliexpress.. many components are hard to source now.
Like here.. taxes so high that is equivalent to ban companies. No Mouser, Arrow, Digikey.. 🤦♂️
@@AllElectronicsChannel thanks, I see rg402 is much less lossy than e.g., rg178. Will order some once the link is up 👍
@@SandeepKumar-jj7zi sorry to hear that, there are so many good educational channels from your country
Skaisti :) Tālāk jau var domāt par 10GHz SSB uztvērēju.
Nice, Is that 0dbm output at 10GHz?
Yes! Currently the trippler delivery something near -10dBm
I think the numbers on the diagram dont match...107.2/16=6.7GHz therefore the output of VCO will be 31 X 107.2+6.7=3329.9GHz
I rounded a bit! Try 10000 * 16 / (3 * (1 + 31 * 16))
