    Hello Dave and Dawn,
We still have quite a few videos from our holiday in Indonesia in June and July. Thank you for the message. Best wishes,
    Fina and Tim.

An interesting video. I've never seen a Buddhist temple before - except on TV. How long are you staying in Indonesia?

      @@torstenb6940 hello Torsten,
Indonesia has a lot of religious sites which predate Islam, which is now the overwhelmingly predominant religion in the country. Not far away from Borobudur Is Prambanan which is an equally impressive Hindu temple. We stayed in Indonesia for one month, from the 12th of June to the 10th of July.

It's certainly an imposing building! Also, all that work that was put in to enable its construction - work that must have been so difficult given, as you said, the lack of modern technology.
And, therefore, I am reminded - almost inevitably, I suppose - of the pyramids of Egypt: all that back-breaking work involved there! Okay, we've seen the documentaries: mathematics no doubt played its part, too... but, nevertheless...
Just an interesting - but totally understandable(!) - coincidence: given the story of Buddha and the origin of the religion... I note that you spent some time sitting under the shade of a tree; I notice such things - whether intended, or not!

      @@philfoster8789 hello Phil,
Your comment about the tree is interesting. Neither Fina nor I recognised the significance of sitting beneath a tree but now you mention it it does seem rather curious. According to Wikipedia, part of Buddha’s enlightenment involved in sitting beneath a Bo tree for 49 days.
