Thanks for this man. I just finished flushing my clutch fluid and while WAY better, it still wasn't exactly as good as I wanted. Just about 2 turns got it just where I wanted and now 1st and reverse are easier than they've ever been. I also have a thicker ACT clutch and didn't know this could happen. When it was stock the engagement was definitely higher up.
Thank you I totally understand and now I won't have to spend $2,800 on a new clutch I know what's going on you're very clear and concise in your explanation thank you very much
Just had a shop replace my clutch and cylinders. I don't like the way they set the clutch up so thank you very much, I'm going to adjust it when I get home from work.
Oh wow that seems to have worked well on my Kia Sportage. It was getting difficult to get it into reverse, 1st and 2nd. 3rd gear and up not as bad. But they all seem better now. Reverse still a bit notchy, but better. Pumping the clutch pedal was the work around leading up to this. The clutch/brake fluid level is higher than max, making me think air has got into the fluid, maybe reducing the hydraulic force to get the clutch to disengage. Might be worth changing out the fluid and getting the air out. Any who thsnks for making the video it helped alot. we thought it was going to be a new clutch the sportage has done 163,000 km or 100k miles so its getting up there for max life. Anyways greetings from Cornwall UK.
I changed my 2004 LS package Miata(6-speed manual)clutch to a cheap/high performance puck clutch I got from Oreilleys about 3 years ago. About a year after installation, I started to get clutch drag issues with it fully depressed. I don't know if the clutch grew or sort of got mangled and larger, or if my clutch pedal suddenly puts less pressure on the master cylinder. I have never changed fluid and have owned the car for 4 years, and it is still "full" on fluid.. It is 150k miles roughly. No hydraulic fluid leaks detected anywhere. I was just waiting for a mechanical failure the last 2 years so I would be forced to do something. lol However, when I adjusted the clutch as per instruction in this video, I now don't have clutch drag issues. Thanks a lot man
We just replaced the fluid on my buddies. It was pure black and he had a much firmer pedal with the new fluid. you only need to remove the passenger wheel and you reach over the frame to access the bleeder nipple.
The issue I’m having is I’ve bleed the clutch the pedal is firm like normal with car off but when car is running pedal goes soft and won’t go into gear when car is on the ground but when car is in the he air it will
Great video. I adjusted my NA clutch but something just doesn't feel right. The slave cylinder was replaced about 25k miles ago but I still have the original master cylinder. Going to focus on that.
What does it mean if the clutch pedal gets harder and the bite point gets higher as the car warms up? The clutch pedal free play also goes away as the car gets hotter. Forums say it's a clutch pump-up issue and I need to lower the bite point. However, right now the bite point is just perfect
Don’t forget you can also stop the engine and use the starter while in 1st gear to get going should you completely lose pressure in your clutch hydraulics. I’m sure it’s bad for it, but I had to do it quite a bit a few years back and my starter is still fine. Plus if you’re driving the car without a clutch, it’s probably better to wear out the starter than your synchros
Hey guy, My car's feeling kinda jenk in 1st gear... I think its my syncros but I'm absolutely not sure. What would happen if my syncros would be broken?
I wouldnt recommend it honestly to most people, not necessary unless your clutch goes out and too much potential for people to mess it up and cause damage. Not saying its that hard but most people these days cant even get down driving a manual properly.
I have a 350z and the slave is inside the bell housing, you cant see it. also it looks like someone on this car replaced the master cylinder because it doesn't match the OEM pictures online, and it was not adjusted properly. i didnt' see any leaks so I think they did a clutch job, new slave and master cylinder and then they didnt adjust the pedal when they were done.
Yes getting better sound with this new shop is top priority for me now I know it really hurts the overall quality of the videos. Thanks for the suggestion!
I need help, my clutch doesnt fully disengage, and its almost like a slipping transmission if im gear and press the gas all the way down the it will rev up catch and rev up again, the clutch feels a little soft too
Is your clutch pedal adjusted too tight so that it is always putting pressure on the fork? If that is not the case sounds like you need to pull the transmission to find the problem. Its not too bad of a job, I have a video on that as well.
i have an issue where my bite point changes every now and then, most of the time its where its always been but sometimes the car bites even with the clutch pedal all the way down, whats going on?
You have a leak. In this specific case I honestly wouldn't bother with too much testing, I would replace the Slave & Master Cylinders and upgrade to an SS clutch line. I have an old video posted on this channel showing how to do it but it gets the job done! A suction tool to bleed at the slave instead of doing it manually like I did in the video will make your life much easier!
Dog helper and red na in garage is peak adult life. My dog is always there with me when I’m working on my car.
This is to funny the day you upload this is the day I need to adjust my clutch.

Well, you know, can never have too many Miata videos. ;)
Hah, maaannyy more to come still when I am ready to start back on mine!

I don't have a Miata and never will. I just came to see the shop manager from the thumbnail. Good boy!

try replacing the master cylinder, i had the same issue on my rx7 and that was the cause of my problems

Always a pleasure watching the channel. He’s got a nice hot air intake!
Thanks! And hey at least its feeding a supercharger and then going through an intercooler!
Thank you very much.😊 I now know that I have a hydraulic issue. Gonna be the slave cylinder
The issue I’m having is I’ve bleed the clutch the pedal is firm like normal with car off but when car is running pedal goes soft and won’t go into gear when car is on the ground but when car is in the he air it will
good video and explanation, fixed it easy.
Great info!!! LOVE the Dog!!!

Sounds like you have air in the lines either from a leak or improper bleed. Flush and completely bleed your system and it should fix the issue.
So I bought a stage 2 happy meal clutch and the engagement is basically to the floor. Is this what I gotta adjust?

Great video very helpful. The small tech tips are always helpful.
Thank you glad you find it helpful!
Nice explanation. A lot of people ask me about this!
Thanks brother!
Wow nice seeing you here 802, small world lol.

nice video man love you guys! keep wrenching
this is an insanely good video thanks
jsut swapped my trans to a 1.8 trans with a lightweight flywheel and clutch new master and slave, so im pretty sure ill need to do an adjustment
Hey guy,
My car's feeling kinda jenk in 1st gear... I think its my syncros but I'm absolutely not sure. What would happen if my syncros would be broken?
I'm not sure if my nb needs an adjustment but all I know is there is a lot of dead space before my clutch actually bites.
Did you figure out the issue?
shift by synchro, would be a great video, I learned on my VW bug car had great synchros.

Love your videos. Can’t wait until you get a lapel mic so the echo can go away.

If they have to replace the master cylinder or slave cilinder, is that a big job?
No not that big, I have a video on the channel from a long time ago showing how to do it.
Jesse, my man, we need an update on your Miata. How's the brother doing? ^^
Mine started with problems when engaging 2nd gear then i got stuck in reverse, i didn’t know if was a Transmission or clutch problem
Thank you very imperative
One problem with the miata is when the car is heating up, It also changes the clutch bite point. The adjustment is actually annoying to set correctly
the video of the adjustment process is from 3:30 to 5:30
I need help, my clutch doesnt fully disengage, and its almost like a slipping transmission if im gear and press the gas all the way down the it will rev up catch and rev up again, the clutch feels a little soft too

looking for a used 4x4 gas truck for around 14k. What is my best bet for reliability?
For reliability in that range pick between a Tundra, F150 or Chevy 1500. They all have pros and cons.
Thanks!!!!
i have an issue where my bite point changes every now and then, most of the time its where its always been but sometimes the car bites even with the clutch pedal all the way down, whats going on?

I explained that exact thing in the video.

Thanks nan its going well so far! Just working and grinding making it happen!
Idk what the hell is wrong with my clutch it makes a weird noise when I clutch out even in nuetral sometime I hear it when I start the car up
Probably your throw out bearing is making noise, look it up and see if it sounds similar
