Oh, I see what I've been doing wrong all that time: NOTHING!
It just glitched and walked around with a full orange bar, completely impervious to all damage.
Full Orange bar trigger the rocket sequence. Make sure he will hit himself.
However, it did not.
Attack the boss until the orange bar is full. Then he will jump back and start shooting rockets. Try to stand right under him and he will hit himself and goes down so you can punch his head. Repeat 2 times and he is gone.
Why do I have to repeat myself?
The first time I fought this thing, it _actually_ glitched and just kept swinging with its normal attack, even after the bar was full. It did not fall down, nor did it shoot the homing rockets even after five full minutes of me surviving against it attacks. I only managed to last for so long because I had an implant that allowed me to trade combo meter for health.
On my second try the boss worked as intended and shot itself with rockets four or five times. By the end of the fight it walked around with empty health bar and I thought it glitched again, but I just had to hit it two more times.
It went down eventually.
This game is crawling with glitches.
Yep, 5 times i've fought this boss and each time his orange bar fills but he never uses his rockets. GG
There are literally 325 comments about the same issue...if the whole class gets the question wrong its a bad flipping question
The boss in this fight is the camera. Why would they zoom in on his freaking legs. That's just bad design.

I used the lockon and its part of the reason why i won it, the vid is off by a lot of factors, including that not using the lockon is better
you are just bad because you use a fucking lock on... you dumb shit.
Take the aiming away
Maybe they are giving you a hint.... like hey work on his legs as much as possible to make it easier. (Knock off the leg armor itll help)
I beat this boss second try on the PC version, but now I'm playing it on PS4 (free this month) and I can't seem to do anything. The fact you have to figure out what the orange bar means is just bad UI design. It doesn't make the game challenging, it just means you have to look stuff up online and that is stupid.

yeah this game is pants. Breezed through every enemy before this without anything resembling a challenge and then ROADBLOCK BOSS. That is infinitely stronger than what i've fought since and with awkward hit detection. Might just give up this game can't be well designed to have a difficulty spike like that. made by the team who did lords of the fallen and that was a pile of wank too
When the bar fills up he will go into phase 2. Each leg has a piece of metal you can break off which will bring him to a vulnerable state. Repeat this until he is dead.
If you are having trouble learning his patterns, just block. Your best bet is to dodge attack towards him and go through his legs- be careful for his attack where he spins around and drops an arm on your forehead- its fast. He only does this attack when you are behind him though.
If you find a tactic that works, exploit and abuse it.
If youre having too much trouble with this boss then youre fucked- it only gets harder.

The nest advice for getting past the first boss.. after a month of frustration I finally did it! Now the second level is kicking my butt!
It isnt glitched as many people say. On one of the walls above him, where you can climb through that dark basement says on a wall graffiti - DEFEAT HIM WITH HIS OWN WEAPON.
When he starts with the rockets run underneath him and he will hit himself and go into a short freeze. Rince and repeate

@@sgm7650 Me too. It's really fiddly. I always at least get knocked down by something (I still don't know what), which cuts into my time to damage the boss. I finally got him, but it must have taken me 30-40 tries.
Sadly you cant do that if you want his special weapon

He just keeps spamming attacks and 3 hitting me
This boss is glitched for me. Every time he goes to rocket phase, i run under him and I still get shot by rockets. The boss then starts running around the map endlessly throwing rockets everywhere until I die.
I initially quit the game because of the difficulty but once I came back to try and beat the game (I saw the recent patch notes and thought to give it another try), the game is now more glitchy than ever before.
The different strategies I had to beat him was 1) I actually always stayed in close because that limited the boss' attacks to try stomping or doing short swings, which was much more manageable than dealing with his lunging swing attacks; 2) I used lock on so that my attacks would track after sliding in, and that I would always face the boss so that I can see what he was doing, but I would unlock when he jumped back to launch rockets; 3) I actually waited underneath the boss while blocking while he shot rockets so he could shoot himself (it wasn't a surefire strategy, as I would sometimes get hit by the explosions). I'm surprised that the boss would just blow himself up with rockets at a distance. That never worked for me. He would complete launching his rockets and go back to his regular attack pattern. I played this two years after you released this video. Sounds like the devs patched the game since then.
level up your armour and weapons etc before trying this.. seriously lol. i wizzed through the game pretty sharpish to this point and coming up against this boss without any farming done before, he totally did me and its near impossible to take down. i feel the game doesnt give you enough clues as to wether you're ready for the boss fight. because the game is plain sailing up until that point

I have 158 health, 6 heals, 74 damage and 66 defence and he still IMPOSSIBLE!
Um, not gonna lie I actually just beat this boss but I finished with literally 4 health and no heals but I still stand by the fact that, that was completely random
Kind of a horseshit boss to start off with, i even say some paint on the wall that said use his weapons against him. But if I wasnt directly under his taint i would still get hit by the missles, so i just assumed i was doing it wrong. Dont start the game off with a gimmick boss.
It took me and a friend about 3 hours too get this right and beat him thank you

Thank you for this. This battle was frustrating. I didnt wanna give up on this one because i finally started to understand the gameplay. I had bought this game on sale about a year and a half ago and put it down because it was pretty complex and hard for me. But then i got bored playing MMOs. I started playing this again this weekend and started to pick up on how it should be played and started having fun with it. Then i ran into this boss... lol.
Toughest enemy in this game is the camera!
For the guys that cant beat it, if the orange bar is full and the robot does a leap backweards stay close to him, if he does the missile attack stay under him and he will hit him self

If u go in the toxic than go to the left go to the end of the hall way go to the right than u get the thing on the ground than u pick it up it’s in the bunker
This was the most useful tips here I could not win with the normal weapon but once I picked this one up I won on the first try with plenty of health to spare

Just started this 7 ye old game on ps5, absolutely amazing. Ngl.
There are incredibly skilled gamers out there and then there are kids that go on forums and comment sections about a boss they already beat to say "I really don't see why anyone is struggling you just learn his attacks and dodge and repeat, it's a really easy boss I didn't even get hit once". And those kids are obviously the most skilled in this world.

Dont try to make the rockets hit him. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt- but its not the only way- nor do i think its the intended way.

this guy is no joke with twin rigs you run out of stamina so fast ... I was locking on every attempt and he would hit me with his melee or step on me so hopefully with your strategy I can defeat him. I was bout to give up since I was pretty pissed after 4 attempts I couldn't get anywhere since he caught me with his claws every time I would come in to attack. Thanks again!

Did anyone else walk in the area before and was like “this is a boss fight area isn’t it”
I got like 7000 scrap with no potion left when I enter this area what a disaster,and when I try to retrieve my scrap later,I dont know where the location actually is and they got time limited to picked up the scrap,what q shitty rule to play.
This was the moat helpful game play tips ive seen so far ive been stuck on this boss for awhile now and thanks to this i figured out how to beat him and finally have passed the first level
He doesnt even fire the rockets at you, he instantly goes down. That is not the case when I try to fight him.
I was having a hell of a time with this guy. I used your tactics and three tries later, down he went. If you don't get the rockets to hit him, you're probably going to eat that shot because they're really hard to avoid. You can slam on him for a while after the rockets and he will drop for the red damage, but having the rockets drop him is WAY easier. Thanks!
At 1:56 his missiles just randomly hit himself? You weren't even under him. That does NOT happen in the game when I play. His rockets home in hit you for like 70 damage. I think you just got lucky. EDIT: The sliding attack advice was actually very helpful.

So not only did this boss not spawn the first time I ran through this area, I was completely dumbfounded when I couldn't progress anymore and had to look up a walkthrough to see that I missed the boss from a glitch, then have it proceed to glitch out and never shoot its missiles. Great game.
Mine was bugged. I walked into this area and nothing happened. Died in the dark area behind and wanted to get my stuff back. When I entered this arena again, the boss fight started, lol.

vhayne91777 if you can run towards him they'll also hit him and take them out. Once they're destroyed it's a matter of dodging and sliding in for attacks.
Awesome, thanks! I did some more exploring and realized there is a lot more to the first level. So I'm going to attempt to clear it all out first. :) How about the construction robot in the acid/gas area? I had him down to a sliver before he killed me, last time I tried.
vhayne91777 yeah I probably spent 3 hours in the First area farming scrap. I probably ran past that bot honestly. Can't remember the exact one.

believe me its worth to take out the smelter bot - there are 5 of them in total in this game and every one of them drops you a coin which you later can spend at a vending machine for a real cool reward. they're pretty easy once you get a hang of them - like 2 beeping means roundhous 1 beeping frontal attack etc pp - also you need to hit them at the right spot

I did what u told us to do when he shot his rockets but I literally get 2 cm away from him but I still get damaged and the robot is still fully functioning...maybe 10 mins after I posted this comment I beat him

I just beat this boss first try.
Here’s what I did-
I chose Lynx as my kit and grinded the starting area. I’d run the factory floor 5-7 times and every enemy I killed I’d target and slice off a specific body part because a) to craft the full set and b) for parts to level them all to mark 2. I chose my weapon to be the one handed chain saw sword thing and leveled that. I raised my cp to 26 also and my set up for implants goes - from 0-26 I used sustaining array, vital boost, plasmic generator, vanadium e-cell and when I got my 5th unlock I used the mech counterweight.
When I got to cp 26 and leveled everything I could I took a few runs on the upper catwalk in the first facility to get rino blueprints and crafted/leveled those up and went for the boss. Now with my implant set up which I switched pre-final run/boss fight I went to 2 vital injections 2 vital boosts and 2 plasmic generators. For the fight I just stayed directly under the boss but swiftly slid away when I knew it was using leg attacks. You can get 1/3 of your orange bar filled if you don’t get hit after boss slides or flies to a new spot and attack the legs from behind. When you fill orange bar up you attack it directly wherever you want and can get 1/3 of its health down. Repeat this and you’ll have plenty health and speed and decent power to beat first boss. I stayed locked on till it moved then I run with free cam to it so I have the freedom to move and smash l1/block at the right time. Don’t forget to explore every nook and cranny post boss to get every implant and blueprint from enemies before the next level
You cannot get the armour up to MK II unless you have the Mk II parts. You can’t get those before this boss
You know you can hotkey weapons right?
Have the fast weapon for his legs then quickswap to a heavy
If you don't hit him with his missiles you get a better weapon, you attack the leg he stands on when he lifts his leg up to stomp

Its not the orange bar, when he does the stomp attack hit the leg thats down while the other is up. After you do this he falls over no matter what his orange bar is at.
After 6 try, I beat it, thank you a lot

Got this guy after my third attempt thanks to your tips. First two tries I used the Angel VI body armor and Engelhart but I was so slow I literally couldn't evade his attacks. I hit for less but the battle was way, way easier with the upgraded Lynx set and vibro-cutter

Do any of the 4 weapons you can obtain be used or should the astr blade be used only. I personally like the twin claw weapon. Forgot its name but I'm just getting started so is it possible to use that weapon to against him?
Edit: took me 20 try's but I finally beat him. It seems the astr spectrebite is the only plausible weapon to use against him

This boss is down right inbred, even when Im under it when it launches the missle the missles still hit me, and 3 out of the 8 times ive faced this thing it gets glitched on the orange bar and becomes invincible

Well idk wtf you did because mine NEVER GOES DOWN, i do exsctly what you do and he just shoots endless missles at me, games bullshit
Just beat this boss after accidentally running into his boss fight and dropping my 6k scrap lol.
Use a heavy weapon and use mainly the dash attack. Just dodge and attack his legs over and over. Stay behind him as he has no attacks that hit behind him. Use the implant that changes energy into Health. If you don't have it, you can look for it, or just get good at dodging behind him. Don't need to heal if you don't get hit lol. Keep doing this until his orange bar builds up. Once it does he'll do 1: fall to the ground or 2: shoot off missiles. If 2, run up to his front and unload damage, this will decrease the red bar. Rinse and repeat until dead. He doesn't add any new moves. If 2: dodge towards him to get the missiles to miss you/ hit him instead. Then he should fall down, though sometimes he just runs around for a bit with a full orange bar and it's annoying. Give him a few seconds and he'll fall.

I do not understand if it is the missiles or the character to be glitched, if they catch me the character gets up so slowly that the robot has plenty of time to take me and while also drinking a cup of coffee

Skippy Dinglechalk don’t worry it’s the fun in these games to repeat and retry 🙄🙄 nah I’m jk smash your controller. This first boss is easy so try to know that charging towards a boss isn’t a bad thing and behind them, that’s what I got wrong when I first played these games. If the trick doesn’t work try side stepping, if that doesn’t work diagonal sidestepping 😂

Skippy Dinglechalk you can lock onto the boss if you know what your doing and you don’t have to kill him like this. I just locked on and kept attacking the leg from behind him when he lifts his leg up just walk away and keep hitting him. Till his orange meter is full

Quite late, but you have two ways to make him go down.
1. Make himself hit with a rocket/missile (He starts doing that attack after orange bar is filled)
2. When he is lifting his leg to stomp, hit the other one to make him fall down.
Depends on the way you kill him, you can get diffrent weapons.
