    Oh Carol I use E 6000 glue and it will glue an elephant to another elephant. But whatever. I think it's a grand idea to glue the elastic. I'm so so so happy right now. I wanted to know of a journal with no hardcover that would hold up and still look like a book not a pamphlet on some insurance or some business thing.. and I didnt want to sew anything in by hand or have to buy an awl to poke holes in the spine. I'm 70 and do NOT have hand strength any longer so this envelope journal idea is simply superb...superb I say. I love it. And you. Ya make it smile and laugh and it's so so pretty

    Carol I thoroughly enjoyed this tutorial. Your easy manner, precise instructions and demonstrations make for clear understanding. I also liked how you broke the tutorial into part so as to not overload beginners like myself. Great job, i know what I'll be doing tomorrow in the heat and smoke filled Melbourne air (legacy from the devastating bushfires that Australia is currently experiencing. Air is too bad to venture outside unless wearing a p2 mask). So thank you, I found you and look forward to many more tutorials. Cheers!

      Thanks Judith for your lovely comment - its very much appreciated. Australia is in all our thoughts at the moment because of the bush fires and the devastation so hope you stay safe and in the meantime you have lots of crafting time xx

    Thank you so much for This video. Again you've taught me so much as I'm getting ready to put the signatures into a journal I'm making for my great granddaughters birthday. I bought black elezric cord to use here, but now see that clear elastic is so much better. I'm making it a hidden spine as I got in a hurry and decorated the spine both on the outside and inside.

    Happy I found you on TH-cam.
    I'm new at this making journals, as I write this the glue is drying waiting for the papers to be added next.
    I would like to thank you for taking your time to show us how to do this. Can't wait to get into the next steps.

    Hi new subbie here. Would there be any problem in me using more envelopes to make a larger journal? I wanted another 4 or 5 pages. Thank you for all this lovely fun work

    • @carol.tinson-paper.crafts
      @carol.tinson-paper.crafts  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Marlene Jones you would need to make your spine deep enough to slow for the extra envelopes. Or you can increase the added pages by a few or add extra pages to the note books

    Did you know stretch cord has a very short life span? This is Kaye im writing under my hubby s id. Within two years all those stretch cords will be broken. My hubby made me loads of jewelry with stretch cord they are all broken. I think your work is heirloom quality I would hate to see it fall apart.
