Oh Carol I use E 6000 glue and it will glue an elephant to another elephant. But whatever. I think it's a grand idea to glue the elastic. I'm so so so happy right now. I wanted to know of a journal with no hardcover that would hold up and still look like a book not a pamphlet on some insurance or some business thing.. and I didnt want to sew anything in by hand or have to buy an awl to poke holes in the spine. I'm 70 and do NOT have hand strength any longer so this envelope journal idea is simply superb...superb I say. I love it. And you. Ya make it smile and laugh and it's so so pretty
Wow 😲Carol , you lucky lady having your craft table next to your window ,,,,, and I also noticed in your part one of this tutorial you were nipping out to hobby craft , I have to travel about an hour away to my nearest hobby craft... it’s so so nice to have found you , a tutorial crafter here in the U,K . You are just the kind of person/ crafter to be in lockdown with ,,, so Hello from Wiltshire
Carol I thoroughly enjoyed this tutorial. Your easy manner, precise instructions and demonstrations make for clear understanding. I also liked how you broke the tutorial into part so as to not overload beginners like myself. Great job, i know what I'll be doing tomorrow in the heat and smoke filled Melbourne air (legacy from the devastating bushfires that Australia is currently experiencing. Air is too bad to venture outside unless wearing a p2 mask). So thank you, I found you and look forward to many more tutorials. Cheers!
Thanks Judith for your lovely comment - its very much appreciated. Australia is in all our thoughts at the moment because of the bush fires and the devastation so hope you stay safe and in the meantime you have lots of crafting time xx
I love watching you! Not only are you creating something beautiful but you do it in such an easy to follow way. You are an amazing teacher, so easy to understand, so calm & your humour is just brilliant!
Late to the party. Saw #1 watched #2 and heading to #3. I am not a journalist, but am truly getting inspired by some of the ladies I have subscribed to. Subscribed to your channel cuz love your tutorials, and your lite hearted personality. Tfs cheers
LoL!! Exactly 1yr after you make this video, I come across your TH-cam channel and you have me in stitches (I've: "go put the kettle on!")!! Thank you for sharing your talents!! Peace and Blessings!! Happy New Year!!
Love the idea of using the elastic wrapped around the envelopes for placing journal pages! SO clever! Never seen that before. Great start! TFS the inspiration, Carol!
Oh my this is just genius at work in the craft studio. I was into making bracelets so i just happen to own some elastic for the pages. Im so happy to meet and you and your lovelies
Thank you so much for This video. Again you've taught me so much as I'm getting ready to put the signatures into a journal I'm making for my great granddaughters birthday. I bought black elezric cord to use here, but now see that clear elastic is so much better. I'm making it a hidden spine as I got in a hurry and decorated the spine both on the outside and inside.
I have just discovered your channel and immediately went to the Facebook group. Your instructions are so clear, concise and through. The addition of the beading elastic to add journal pages is brilliant! My current plan is to binge your channel for the rest of the night. Thank you!
Happy I found you on TH-cam. I'm new at this making journals, as I write this the glue is drying waiting for the papers to be added next. I would like to thank you for taking your time to show us how to do this. Can't wait to get into the next steps.
The clear beading elastic - BRILLIANT! I have a number of uses for this new technique. Thank you! I keep you on in the background now even when I am not actually watching, because I find you so entertaining! New subbie, too!
Hi new subbie here. Would there be any problem in me using more envelopes to make a larger journal? I wanted another 4 or 5 pages. Thank you for all this lovely fun work
Marlene Jones you would need to make your spine deep enough to slow for the extra envelopes. Or you can increase the added pages by a few or add extra pages to the note books
Did you know stretch cord has a very short life span? This is Kaye im writing under my hubby s id. Within two years all those stretch cords will be broken. My hubby made me loads of jewelry with stretch cord they are all broken. I think your work is heirloom quality I would hate to see it fall apart.
You are the best teacher... calm and patient, clear and concise! Love that your directions make so much sense! 💕
Awwww Tanks Ruthie - much appreciated :) xx

Can you use more envelopes and make it bigger or would is be over the top?
It would probably be too bulky xx
