The drone flying into the tree reminded me of how I golf! One tree anywhere near me, and can drill it with a golf ball!

YLRC S135 is obviously a nice deal for the price!
Less than 190 dollars with The drone, 3 batteries, rechargable controller, Laser Obstacle Avoider range finder and accessories!
The 8K photo advertisements or something 'high resolution' video ads may attract beginners to buy some low cost drone and think that they will get results like that of Mavic 3 or Autel Evo II, but in reality, we professionals know that it is just converted into 8K and is not 'soo clear' as Prosumer or Professional drones, but is ofcourse satisfactory and pretty good for such budget fun drone!
This drone's app just got me very nicely...lol
The spellings and grammar right there is hilarious and the 'firmwareerr' also gets me every time, *lol*
It must have been developed by some Chinese programmers, I think.
Anyway, the drone flies nicely and the basic features are good too like follow me, VR mode and...
Never mind, it does not have many features than also it is a great deal, not gonna lie.
The secondary camera down there is also pretty funny as it viewed and showed the grass of the ground like it was something hellish dried hay kind of thing, again lol.
But to be honest, it looks nice with that colourful lights and that Mavic Air 2S+ Mini 3 Pro, inspired body (It looks like their chimera/mixed budget beginner drone to me though)
The obstacle avoider did a good job detecting those obstacles and it also looks cool as it reacts with the movement of the drone pretty immediately.
But the most important thing of all is the moment when the Laser rangefinder was unable to avoid the thin branch of the tree, and hence the drone got smashed into it, but then also, it stabilized itself and stayed in the air like a boss!
That was something I haven't seen in a while!
Overall, what else can you expect to be in a drone at a price of 190 dollars!!
So, definitely, it seems to be a reliable and durable drone for beginners, to me!
Now, I am looking forward for a Mini 3 Pro review video soon!

This actually looks like a better version of the k-911. The drawing looks extremely similar uses the same app and a very similar battery. The controls are different not much. I have the k-911 and I to tested that obstacle avoidance going into a tree and had the same result except I crashed. Very durable I must say after falling from about 50 ft. No damage other than the battery popped out. Great video and they are always great keep going!
I've got the s132 and it's really a good drone. My KS 11 has a lot of these features and they work really well but it has no gps.

For the $ that looks like a winner! With brushless motors, EIS, and a 3axis gimbal for that price it would be a way better start than my first gps camera drone a couple years ago. Video actually looked usable.
it actually does....even just for a cheap back up to have something to shoot with in the air in...or use to get your main drone out of a tree...

Looks a lot like my Temu S132 drone. Mine doesn't have near that functionality or a gimbal and only records about 6 frames per second. But it was also $73. Still fun to fly. Excellent video by the way. Pleasure to watch.

Well Captain !what can I say!; its arguably clear that in this techno age its cheaper to produce a 3 Axis Gimble versus a true high quality video Camera !!!!; regardless, love the improvisation regards the Jeep "Landing" mat (I have used my Sunshade in desperation!!) and if all else fails; the Drone is a very effective tree trimmer!!!😅

I just picked up one of these and I actually really like it. I'm making videos for a fishing business and wanted something inexpensive for shooting over water. I have my Part 107 so I'm going to use this with the follow me mode and circle me (if I can get that to work. Thanks for the vid.

I think that's the best video I've ever seen you do, when you ran the drone into the tree, that was excellent. I can't believe it survived and kept flying. I'd like to see more videos like that where you challenge the drones and actually make them crash. That way I know what not to buy or what I'm buying and what it's limitations are. I bought this model, I am not a beginner. With less than a month I lost it. It was flying without problems on a soccer field when changing batteries and it started to fly, everything was fine. After 10 minutes, it started to fly very unstable, then it started to accelerate at a lot of speed in increasingly larger circles. It flew very wildly, I tried to control it but because of the speed. Since it continues to increase, I raise it so that it doesn't crash, I lose the signal and I never saw it again. It was very strange how quickly the speed was increasing. Positive side I will buy the same model since I have more batteries, from Chile
This exact same thing happened with me but I had a different drone called the k911 it started going around in circles quickly increased the speed until it fell far away. Did you end up finding the reason that caused this?

It probably doesn't have the same flight characteristics as my mini 2 but for < 200 bucks you can beat that!!!!

The lights are backward. If you are using them for orientation the red should be on the front (red you're dead) green on the back (green good to go)
Hi again Doc, can I get your opinion about these two drones please? Since you've done reviews on both of these in the past, which one performs better? The YLRC S135 with GPS, 3-Axis gimbal, and Obstacle Avoidance or the SG908 GPS FPV and a (self-described ad) 3 axis self stabilizing gimbal. I honestly don't know if that's a better gimbal than the 3 axis gimbal on the S135 or the exact same thing but with fancy wording. So I added it here for you just in case. I'd really appreciate your take on these two drones, so I can make a sound decision based on fact and experience rather than the hype that manufacturers sometimes offer. Thanks bud. Cheers to Ottawa!

Small drones like this are not designed to carry additional weight. It will cause them to fly poorly, and for a very short time.
I wish you could have done a another test review on this Drone

Have you tried touching the phone screen for what to follow & where on map to circle?
Obviously the tree is " Under " the laser , So it's doubtful it would see the tree untill the branches are seen by the laser and that's side on .

Appreciated the video as I had quite a struggle with the LYZRC L800 Pro2 which I believe shares 80% of the genes with this one - and I only got a Chinese manual with it. So it helped me as a beginner to get things going. Does anybody by any chance can provide a scan copy of photo of the S135 manual?

a little proposal: would you add to your tests a camera lift test?
To see if you are able to attach something like a Insta360 GO 2 or even a GoPro and fly (for better footage).
GPS Camera Drones are not designed to lift anything other than themself. The only drones that can lift something are those specifically designed for it.
Is there a drone simulator you can recommend for a rank beginner? Also, do you happen to know of one that works with a DJI DJ6 controller? Thanks for the great videos!
I honestly don’t use flight sims so I’m out of touch there. Sims are for people like yourself to practice on. In the old days I would use a sim called FREERIDER. DJI controllers are not really made for consumer sims, but rather DJI sims.

Capt. sounded like you were going to rewrite a Blood Sweat & Tears song - to spinning blades go round and round. Looks like this would be a good starter drone. I wonder if the slow response in the controls is due to no antennas? Currently in grey with 3 batteries is $182.99 USD.
