    Yes! Toy rotation has saved my sanity! When my son even has a birthday, we put some of the new ones away to get out later so it's as if he just got another new toy every time! It's life-changing!

    I’m sure I’m not your target demographic, over 50 and no kids. That being said... I want to thank you for your videos! They are informative and fun and I can see all the hard work you put into each one. I am always so happy when I get a notification of a new video from you, I know I’m going to have a few minutes of happiness in store for me. I am a organizer and labeler from way back and I love learning new tips! So thank you, thank you for being a light in a very troubled time, the joy you provide is very much appreciated!!

    As I was watching your video you talked about stuff animals. I wanted to tell about another hack I did. I bought a bag thing off Amazon that you can stuff with stuffed animals and it turns into something like a bean bag chair when you are done. I like it cause it works for a reading spot for my toddler and her friends

    I have been a long time follower of yours. Like, “battle of the drugstore mascaras” fan! I’d love to see you revamp that series in to motherhood. Like “battle of the sippycups”. Test on price, how well liquid comes out, ease of cleaning, etc! Stuff like that would be so fun!

    • @issabee7743
      @issabee7743 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ooh, I second this! Sippy cup battles are a thing in my house. Like "This one is for water only, because it drips." Even some cups of the same brand but different designs (looking at you, Munchkin brand).

    Super helpful. I have 3 kids who are spaced out in age, 9, 5, and 2 so I’m over overwhelmed with toys and saving older kids toys for younger kids etc, I’m going to do some storing and rotating today. This gave me some good ideas to start. Thanks

  • @ckee8437
    @ckee8437 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I just started getting my son involved in the rotation, he gets to pick the toy to keep out for each category for the rotation and he can ask to swap when he wants to. We did 1 item (not a single toy but the set) for the categories he loves - building toys - pretend play - vehicles - character toys - active play and he also gets to pick a puzzle, coloring or activity book, and play doh is always available on request (that gets supervised).
    This time he picked his play food, train set, building set, paw patrol characters, a sling shot nerf toy.
    He played with his trains for 90 minutes straight last night. Yay!

    Totally believe in this-I just did this yesterday!! 😂 Our grands lived with us for a bit, and now they just visit, so I paired down, made bins rather “invisible” under furniture in the living room, put some in storage to rotate, and donated a huge box. It looks so much better! Masking tape and a sharpie work great for labels too! 😋 Great work on your channel and in your home! Blessings! 😻

    We started rotating toys about a month ago and it’s made cleanup and organization so. much. easier. I couldn’t get a handle on how to store all of his toys together so once I pulled some of them out, I’m so much less stressed and he has discovered some new favorites that he never cared about before!

    Awesome! We adopted my grandson so I’m parenting for the second time. He’s 5, I’m 45. It’s so different this time, I had three littles pretty close in age first round. But he is an only child. Toys and books are a major issue, as well as boredom with those things. I’m going to create a space in the garage so we can start rotating. Thank you!

    I get a weekly visit with my almost 2 year old great grand daughter. I have a ton of things for her at my house. I need a good way to store toys.
    Love the spice rack idea. Weed out baby items. Shelf instead of toy box. I like the puzzle rack.

  • @stacey738
    @stacey738 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I do toy rotation too, I have a two year old, and I usually rotate weekly, but if I see a toy isn't being played with at all I'll switch it out mid-week. It really surprises me how few toys my daughter actually needs in rotation at once. Like literally 4 activities is plenty. I currently have a doll family, crayons, tea set and xylophone and that was enough for her for like the whole week. If she gets bored mid week I will also add something else if she's grumpy/teething and I need some peace lol.

    Great tips. Love how I can relate having very similar house to yours, imperfect yet cozy and homey, unfinished basement, has some unique style and you personally worked on it to look like that, not following too many trends. Often I look at other people houses and compare... like why doesn’t my house look like a mansion... fancy kitchens, bathrooms, beautiful basements. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home. :)

    Great ideas! Going to try the laundry zipper and scarf holder idea. I've semi done toy rotation. My version is throw half in a basket and put of reach! I've gotten lazy with it now, having two kids, it's harder with needing different age toys and making sure the toys for my son are safe for my daughter. Love the content 😊

    I just moved into a new house. There's not a lot of storage space for extra toys. We downsized but I love the basket idea, and I had already bought some. I was un sure how to organize them for easy play, I found that part of the video must helpful. I always love your content.

  • @issabee7743

    Oh I love the painters tape measuring trick! That's super clever. We need to Marie Kondo my toddlers toys (some have moved to her baby brother). We were gifted some cloth cube kid storage, and I have come to the conclusion that I loathe them. They're not well made, constantly crumpling, and you can't see into them! We just pulled down a bunch of dollhouse toys to rotate for my kiddo, so she still has her doll house but now she has "new" critters for it.

      @@ivonafiri9269 that's very true! I recently did a huge declutter of my kids toys and got rid of several bags. They have actually been playing with their toys again. I think it was overwhelming for them to have so many things.. the same as I was when my clothes were out of hand

    Those locker bins are awesome. Our daughter has those in her closet for clothes. Her room is getting redone including her closet. Their is no sense in having a dresser she doesn't like or use. When my husband can build her a closet system to fit those bins. Toy cleanup is a must as well. I always made it into a game. Who can put the (color) toys away or how many (number) blocks can we put away. Who can put the heart (shape) away. It taught colors, numbers, shapes and fine motor skills.

    When Your kids are very good behaviour all the time and always taking good care of their things, keeping their rooms very clean, loving their favorite things and want to make nice childhood collections of their things: books, clothes, toys, video games, clothes, DVDs and etc, then donataing is very wrong thing to do. If You have few space then storage boxes and shelves will help You out and Your kids will be very happy and thankful then, if they can keep their favourite things. Childhood things are very valuable and it is very sad, if they won’t see them anymore in their life. Every child should have the right to keep their things, if they can take good care of them all the time!!!

    There was one idea I saw it’s the unit with different baskets and you leave one empty. Each day they put the toys they want to play with in that basket and that’s their toys for the day so they know what toys that’s there and they’ve the choice but I think the toy unit should be in another room so they don’t get tempted to grab other toys but it means less mess and easier to clean up but I know one person every so often she’ll take a toy they’re not playing with or don’t seem interested in and hide it for awhile normally they kid won’t even notice then rather then buying a new toy you give them the toy you hid so it’s like a new toy and they’re more likely to play with it

    I love this setup and completely agree but we are the exact opposite🤦🏻‍♀️. My son is 5 so I’m not even sure how to change that and he’s constantly into everything even the stuff I try to put up in the basement🙄. So essentially I’ve tried this and failed miserably🤦🏻‍♀️. We have way too much and it’s totally my fault

    I would very much like to rotate toys but I live in a small house with nowhere to put the ones that are currently in use.
