    As a Scat Pack owner, I don't look down at any SXT or GT's out there. 3.6 is a good engine and enough power for most. Still a Charger... which is cooler than a lot of others out there! I do have to recommend, spring for the plus group option for $2895 more...gets rid of that dash and add SO much to the interior.

      @@undulantlemur43 That is the same for most cars out there, the daytime running lights turn off when you signal so others can see the turn signal more clearly.

    Between 1973 and 2000 there were very few cars that broke 300hp, even in big block offerings. Apart from cars like the corvette, viper, and special edition mustangs, most engines were under 260hp. Also, consider that the bulk of cars sold, even ones known now for performance, were sold with either 6cyl or small block v8s that weren't geared towards performance, even in the peak of the muscle car days. I think the v6 charger is a cool option for someone who wants a classic rwd car they can daily and enjoy a bit of nostalgia for what cars feel like as opposed to the flood of suv's and crossovers we deal with today.

  • @xechs88
    @xechs88 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    These are actually nice as company cars or daily drivers. I had one for a company car and enjoyed the highways, fairly smooth ride. Also You have to factor in buying one of these used is absolute steal. Buy the car a couple years old save 12k and throw in a 4-6k supercharger in and boom you got 430HP. Also gets rid of the garbage can look in engine lol. Also this is one of the few cars where the kits play nice with the OEM, it just feels like SXT but faster, a lot of times when you tune a vehicles it affects your daily driving and tiny inputs you have to adjust to. A lot of the 392 boys and purest get upset with this but hey as a company/family car getting it supercharged is peanuts in price per performance that you get. A lot of private security does this, you can buy one of their cars like 3 years old high mileage for cheap because it was used as company car. Say your a teenager and only spend 10k and need 430HP these chargers are great value. Also 13 seconds on the quarter is not bad consider how little work goes into this. I think some of the fastest challengers V6 supercharged can get to 12 seconds ie without doing any mods to weight reduction or suspension, just from straight supercharging. Like you can't find that value in other cars for messily 4-6k upgrade.

    I picked up this exact one 3 weeks ago as a gas saver for work. (Coming from a lifted F-150 getting 11MPG) I drive upwards of 750 miles a week and it is such a smooth enjoyable ride while still being fun and definitely a head turner. I’m Averaging 32MPG on Highway. Apple CarPlay is a huge plus as I do most of my business phone calls on the road, so it allows me to be completely hands free. I used to be of the mind set of why would I want a charger that’s not a V8 but I got over that real quick once I drove it. Love it!

    4:47 this has a little less power than the Avalon, but slightly bigger and RWD. So you sacrifice a little bit of power for more space and a lot more fun. In my opinion, it's worth it. If you want a manual transmission with this engine setup, you're stuck with the challenger, the charger is automatic only.

    I recently purchased a 2019 Charger Sxt Blacktop plus with the 20" wheels and nexen performance tires for $30,000 cash. Im satisfied with my purchase because that's what I wanted! I didn't want the big V8's! I wanted a daily driver that looks good but good on gas!!! I've already lived the fast and furious years long ago when Big V8's like the 350 chevy to the 351 Cleveland and the 396 & 454 Chevys! Nowadays my main concern is to save a dollar at the gas pump. Not continuously have to make a pit stop or endanger people's lives not to mention your own. I made a great choice. Of course I made some upgrades to suit my character and needs such as an mrt version 1 catback exhaust coupled with a single flowmeter original 40 for an aggressive tone and some extra ponies! I slapped a k&n filter in it, some ngk laser iridium glow plugs, custom diamond stitching luxury mats front & rear and a 3600 Watt kicker solo baric l7's subwoofer sound system in it with smoked windows sitting on steel metallic destroyer gray paint! Nasty.

Think the gauges look absolutely amazing in the chargers compared to its competitors. Great daily driver and good power and sound with a Cold air intake. Although I supercharged mine after 2 years, love it even more with the 450HP. Now more than an R/T. Only thing is it will just never have that V8 sound but the supercharger whine and blowoff suffices.

    The 3.6 Pentastar is no joke. It's a powerful engine. Better than most cars that people salivate over from the 70's. Base car is better than ever. I love all variants of the newer Charger. The Hellcat is ridiculous. It will kill you if you let it. The R/T is as high as I would go. But the SXT or GT is pretty great. I own a 2008 Charger SXT with a 3.5L. I also own a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT with a 3.6L. And through a co signer... A 2012 Ram With a 5.7L Hemi. I love them all. These cars are amazing in all trim levels. And Dodge has come a long way from the early 70's. They are reliable and not always in the shop.

      My 1969 Mustang 1 put out 250 hp. My Charger GT puts out 300 hp. I've also owned a Charger Scat Pack and that much power was wasted on me. The chassis for this car was designed for 400 hp, so I wouldn't consider anything higher than the R/T either. I opted for the GT because it has enough power, looks almost exactly the same, and saved me some money.

    Tried to shop for this vehicle a few years ago. I went to New York City's flagship Chrysler / Dodge / Jeep dealer on Manhattan's west side. They never had any of these in the showroom or any in the lot. Not one. In any version. The salesman said "Hey, its the city, I wish we had more space. I have one off site in a holding lot 3 miles away for you." I pointed out that their on site lot had 27 Jeep cherokees and 19 Pacificas. But couldn't bother to have one Charger. It's not that they're selling out of them. It's that no one wants them. They are very dated and I guess there is no incentive to try to sell them. This car was nice 7 years ago. Time to redesign it.

    The fastest I've ever gone in a car was in a charger. It was a police charger and it was 158mph.. let me tell you, that was the scariest thing I've ever been involved in. At 120 the spotlight flips up, at 135 bumps in the road disappear, at 140 the car starts to float similarly to driving an old car on bias ply tires at freeway speeds, at 155 you just accept that if anything goes wrong, you die. Police chargers don't have body kits to help aerodynamic, they are overloaded with a divider in the interior, lights, computers, guns, gear, and everything needed for duty. They run on tires that are rated for the speed but aren't any special tread or compound like a racing tire, and they just have the standard 5.7 hemi. Everyone thinks police cars are specially built, but they really aren't. They are an sxt with an rt engine and the weight of a Durango filled with fat kids.
