I love the Halcyon wing and backplate with a Santi drysuit and a Santi BZ400 undergrament. Totally keeps me warm when paired with the Waterproof brand hood.

i recommend a decent water cooler that keep water warm for extended periods of time. This allows you to "prime" your wetsuits before plunging in and allows you warm your suit back up after that windy surface interval.

You forgot an environmentally sealed regulator or similar prepared for cold waters.
In my country, in the central area the waters are between 11 to 14 degrees celcius (51 to 57 fahrenheit) and in the southern zone the waters are colder. The three things you must wear are: a hood (7mm or more), a wetsuit 7mm to 12mm (or a drysuit) and a cold water regulator.

A good warm hood with smoothskin on both the inside and outside around the face opening.
This way the hood seals against your face and a full face mask seals against the hood without constantly bubbling out air.

Wow, that finished quick. What about specialist cold water regulators and stage 1s. Non heated thermal undersuits and how to layer for example forth element clothing for example.

Diving in Lake Mead in Feb. Water was 56.7F/13.7C, air was around 42/5.5. What caught me was the wind chill out of the water. I think just one of those cheap blue tarps would have made a huge difference. Two days later I added a 5mm hooded vest and was quite comfortable in a 3mm full, 5mm vest, and 7mm full. Oh, and another 7mm hood on top of the vest hood.

I don't like cold water & weather, even though winter in egypt is higher the +5 degrees celcius. A year is 12 months; one can skip at least 3 months of it (Dec, Jan, Feb) if they don't have to go (not professional divers, underwater researchers, navy / marine soldiers, etc.)

Define cold water. For me cold water dives start at 12 degrees Celsius or lower. Since the waters here hardly get above 15 degree Celsius

I'm picturing a warm water diver with drygloves attached to their 5mm wetsuit and wearing a FFM,... Ready for cold water!
This list is so wrong... Where's the drysuit and undersuit? these need to be way above the FFM.

That a dry suit with under suit would be worn in cold water diving is understood. He even talks about dry suits when talking about the hood, the dry gloves, and the heated vest.
