I have had a lake house for ten years. Lots of maintenance with the house, boat dock and the equipment (boat, jet skis...etc). It has been worth it. Family time is off the charts.
EXCELLENT video... Best advice every buyer should seriously review 💪❤... I have rented lake houses over the decades... There are so many "negative" surprises in addition to this... Such as early-morning local fisherman who are NOISY idiots, loud music drunks, loud-boaters, invasive kayakers, the list is endless... I say RENT only as life is stressful enough...
Thanks for your compliment. i can definitely say I've experienced (or participated in) mentioned activities. It definitely makes you think if its worth it. With renting, you may actually enjoy more since you don't have to maintain and have access for a short time. By owning, you do get to enjoy the appreciation of the property and income from those renters!
SID stands for suburban improvement district. They maintain the lakes, golf courses and community centers. The assessment is paid annually with your county taxes. It is not affected by the homestead exemption, meaning you have to pay it no matter what. Most lots in Cherokee Village it is $90, but lakefront lots with houses on them can be as high as $740; without a house as high as $340.
For the most part, they are more scared of you, and probably think you are sneaking up on them. In the time I've lived here and all the property I walk putting up signs and living on the lake, i have never come across a snake surprisingly!
No, this is just a thumbnail. If you watch this neighborhood tour, there is drone footage of lake thunderbird on it. th-cam.com/video/Nd1pwIyv4fo/w-d-xo.html

Can you explain the SID fee?

I couldn’t handle the snakes and other critters sneaking up on me.
