@@UrbanSurvivor Ayy glad my content helped with your tests. As for further content, GF31 review is definitely in the works, and I may visit the China International Optoelectronic Exposition in September, where ADNV will have a booth showcasing their devices. @UrbanSurvivor between the NVG40 and Night Operator Max 2.0, which one would you recommend for airsoft? You ranked them equally but they still have their pros and cons for different used.
@@porgstew3657 are you worried about running IR lighting? If not, night operators would be good, but if you are trying not to run iR then I would go with the NVG40. Would depend on whether the people you play airsoft with are using night vision or not.

Cool to see new devices getting better. I'm not ready to switch from my analog tubes just yet, but if they get a bit cheaper and improve just a little more in the low light, I could see myself going to digital eventually. Think it needs just a few more years
I just gotta say, I’m seething and amazed with how the digital NVD market exploded as of recent. But the seething part was mostly because I bought my NVG 10’s with savings from college and wanted to up my airsoft capability. This was last year. One month after buying my NVG 10 the nightfox prowl came out. Then news about the NVG 30 came out. Then night operators started making waves with their new max 2.0. Watching my choice list go from either lesser pvs-clones with crappy drone cameras, the nvg 10’s, or 4x native 20fps binoculars to having 8+ 1x native nvg’s hit the market all for under $1000 is amazing but a broke college boy is still down $250
can you please check out the HRS31 or the Dl-31? the DNV-9 is also an option im very curious about. I would love your thoughts on these as your reviews are the best out there.
I'm interested in these devices specifically for stargazing and astronomy. I see a lot of videos with people walking around in the woods, but very rarely is this subject covered. It might be a good angle for you as a content creator as I think interest amoung the astronomy community is really going to grow as more information becomes available. I want to try some form of NVG for stargazing, but it's hard to spend the money when I don't know how it's going to perform in my use case. Great video, thanks.
I like AGM Gen2+ Lvl. 1 green phosphorus $2,200 it runs on one lithium AA battery for 50 hours. It's so clear and beautiful. And adjustable lenses are amazing for astigmatism. IR adds so much fun. Knockoff Norotos Low Stow is amazing as well. PA SLX 1X prism optic is amazing too. *Adversaries can see the cyclops Gemini reticle, but with a killflash and not using passive aiming you'll be fine. Ish. It's so fun.
I have bridged NVG30’s and would love to hear more about the wide angle lenses. Here’s another request for a dedicated video on that please. Also - do you have a link to the wide angle lens mod?
Hey GNG, since you import so many of these, can you ask them if they would be willing to open source the nvg10 and nvg 30 firmware source code? It would be really cool if the community could experiment with them and it might encourage firmware updates like they did with the nightfox prowls.
How will wide angle lens mod work for nvg30? I ordered nvg30 like half a month ago. Will I be able to apply it by myself or will I have to buy a new one?
I am blind in one eye and can't see out the other very good. I have complete night blindness. I want a monocular lens for riding motorcycle off road at night. What would you recommend for best night vision??
Idk man if you’re talking about using while actively riding off-road at night on a bike. Your gonna need something with incredibly good fps / latency and at those price points for digital your better going analogue for sure . Lower cost options are gonna be really hard to use properly without getting motion sick/ headaches or whatever
How does the PVS14 (even though it is analog) perform in comparison and where would it sit on the graph. It's cheaper than the G14P2 tho more expensive than the PVS14. Great vid! 👍🏼
I went ahead and added my Gen2+ Analog PVS14 scoring to this database - airtable.com/applWy7aBySisy3GY/shrELw6WYPCmxZ1E6 - Due to its higher price in new condition I would probably put it into the A Tier but if you can get a good deal on it then S tier. Thank you for the great question!
@@UrbanSurvivor Thanks! So it is a matter of preference? Going old school with analog or the modern route with digital? What would you pick if you have a max budget which only allows G14SE or PVS14?
Gen 2 virtual performance varies too much and it has tradeoffs. First is that tube night vision will have far, far better power consumption. However, Gen 2 degrades continuously over use depending on brightness unlike Gen 3 and CMOS.
Blows it out of the water. But you’re paying 8-10x more for it. Do what I did, go pvs14, white phosphor but don’t go to optics planet. Go to a dealer where they will show you what the tube images look like since all pvs14 devices are military rejects for one reason or another. They’re not manufactured for civilians.
The night op might be good if you are into airsoft noght ops and wantthat advantage but you probably want an eotech so its still essentially a $1000 setup. Though all the budget brands make optics with nightvision comparability.
Hi, I wanted to ask about Night Operators FUSION 3.0 Thermal & NVG.. I'm wondering if it's worth getting it, or if I should just get NVG30, but I'm really interested in the Thermal mode at NOF, or if I should look for something completely different. Thanks a lot for the advice.

Here is a digital answer ive come up with for a basic usable but really inexpensive unit. Able to survive repeated big muzzle flashes . A "Megaorei 3 "clip on day /night digital unit about$120 USD. Even records it's a Cheaper digital unit w camera and zoom But you don't use it how they tell you. Instead of attaching it to a magnifying rifle scope attach it to a non magnifying 40mm red green dot soup can sight. . It's nice and small and ideal for shooting the max distance such a unit is usable for
