@@mrwednesdaynight Knowles comes from Yale Law School and tries to be as smart as ben but is also a clown. They are rivals in a way, but the fact that Knowles is a clown, thinks he's better than ben but isn't in ben's eyes, probably makes him a lot more annoying to Ben
@@sophiagomez5619 - I think Ben really doesn't like him though. A lot of the time on the backstage show's when Knowles is talking, Ben tend to drift off or rolls his eyes. I get the feeling he genuinely can't stand him for some reason, but doesn't want to show it too much so acts like it's only a joke.

I kind of like Matt. Whether you agree with his religious beliefs or not, the guy is quite honest in what he believes and isn't afraid to speak it. He did not jump on the Trump bandwagon right away either, has he talks about in this interview. He is a very principled guy and isn't afraid to criticize his own party.
He's really consistent, and I respect that a lot

He also doesen’t need to use his faith as any argument ever.. When pushed beyond scripture he always use a logical secular argument with real-world application, of course not a problem at all, as all he needs to do is to explain why, spoon feed the information that is compressed or metaphoricly written in religious texts as truth. I’m no abrahamist but can still understand the value of religious knowledge and I love Matt for being such a rational spokesman with such beliefs in an age that needs it more then ever..👍🏻

@A J So we blame entire religions based on what one of them does? When a Bernie supporter shot up a congressional hearing, we didn't blame Bernie because it isn't his fault. As a matter of fact, religion (besides Islam) specifically tells us not to kill. I wonder if you will get over you hate, and stop blaming an entire religion for something one person does.
@A J You specialize in writing extraordinarily long responses and managing to say absolutely nothing in them. He said killing babies is wrong, and you started by talking about disabilities. He was correct. Every child is high needs. Just because some children are more high needs does not mean that every single other one is not. That's ridiculous. Second, almost no pro-life person argues from a religious premise. We argue it by explaining there are 3 states of being: living, dead, and non-living. The dead were once living, and are not. Non-living was never living, like a rock. A fetus fits in neither of these, so by logical necessity it is living. That being said killing living people is not the answer to anything ever. You say you "hate suffering more" than abortions, but abortions are by definition suffering. Killing people causes suffering. You also mention that he is arguing from a sheltered position. Believe me I have never been in a sheltered place, I just believe that killing babies is not the answer. You notice lots of problems in our world, but you really didn't say much else. You insulted John and pointed to problems in our society as an excuse to rant at him. But feel free to tell me that I'm coming from a "sheltered place," but I grew up without a father in an 10 ft. X 10ft apartment. I came from nothing, and now I'm doing fine. And guess what, never, NEVER, did I think that killing babies was the answer to all of my problems.
Matt is the best one in the Daily Wire. I went from Ben to Andrew to Michael to Matt.

Even though I'm very progressive politically, I enjoy immersing myself in all sides. Matt Walsh is my favorite Daily Wire host, truly a stand up, principled guy.
jason666king Good on you. Everyone should be this way. I'm conservative and always tried to see both sides of everything. It's gotten a lot harder to do that these days. There are a lot things I've taken a liberal stance on too even being a conservative. Think for yourself and have common sense
@E Cox thanks. I like Matt primarily because his sense of humor is super dry, and his ideology is philosophically rigorous, well thought out, consistent and principled.
What kind of things make you a progressive?
@@monember2722 I've made several videos on this topic, you can check them out. But let me give you two cases where I reject the progressive agenda: I'm 100% pro second amendment, and I'm against most abortions after about 8 weeks.
First time Matt Walsh popped up on my feed from DW I liked him. I'd watch him and be like, "this guy gets it." No wonder! He's an actual devout Catholic! Keep up the great work Mr. Walsh, and this was a really good interview too.

I’d say that there are a few major distinctions. Matt Walsh is much more into domestic policy reform, while Ben is much more into foreign policy and economic policy. Overall, I appreciate that Matt is very conservative and blunt which are rare virtues.

In fact, I wonder if in a place like Iceland or Britain if he would even be born... quite frightening indeed.

I can not believe Matt never went to university and did poorly in high school. He has such a command of the English language. I love listening to him form sentences and his thoughts. Matt is my favorite man on TH-cam, second is Jordan Peterson. Third is Ben Shapiro . These men make me think. I am a 60 year old born again Christian woman who appreciates intelligent men.

As a Christian who's been working out his faith for some 30-odd years, I gotta tell you, no mature Christian thinks that God is _only_ love. Rather, we emphasize that point as a counterpoint to the all-too-common misconception of God as a high-handed judgy putz. Of course God is also holy and just and righteous, but all of these things flow out of the totality of His love.

Matt walsh has become my curreng favorite. Informative, funny and always e entertaining in ways he presents ideas and arguments.
This is a very good Sunday Special. I watch Matt's show often but getting to probe his mind and get to know him better is really.

I tried to watch the first episode of GOT about 3 times and I shut it off every time. Too much unnecessary nudity etc. I agree with Matt. Those images aren't a productive use of the hard drive space in my brain.
I read the books up until the fourth one and knowing what happens with that just turns me off from watching the series. Though I might watch the last few episodes just get closure on the story.

Matt Walsh is inspiring because it's very clear he is introverted and struggles to talk with people hense the constant eye shifting and Swaying back and forth, but at the same time he is a public speaker and interviews others on his own to get down to the truth and to serve his community. It shows anyone can achieve their goals if they believe in themselves and do their best!
I like that this is just casual. When it’s casual conversation it seems more personal.

I like how Ben got a loner like Matt Walsh to come onto the Sunday Special just to delay the inevitable day when he'll have to ask Michael Knowles to come on. Getting Walsh on probably went something like this:
Ben: "OK, no public figure is promoting a book this week, so I'll just have a Daily Wire employee on this time. *looks at list* Oof, well at least there's ONE person left." *calls Matt Walsh*
Matt: "Ben, why are you calling me?"
Ben: "Hey Matt, I want you to come on the Sunday Special. It'll be great, you can even do Backstage with us while you're out here"
Matt: "I don't think I'm the best person to ask, Ben. It would be a long drive for me, and I don't do any social interaction beyond what I have to. Try asking someone who actually works in the Daily Wire office."
Ben: "Come on, Matt. It's a slow week for guests, and I've already had Andrew Klavan on, so you're the only employee left who can do the show."
Matt: "Aren't you forgetting someone?"
Ben: "Who do you mean? You mean Jeremy Boreing?"
Matt: "Come on, Ben. You know who I'm talking about."

Matt: "Knowles, Ben. I'm talking about Michael Knowles."
Ben: "NOT A CHANCE."
Matt: "Why not? He's doing his show in the same building as you and Drew."
Ben: "Knowles has had INFINITELY more lucky breaks in his despicable life than he deserves. I have no intention of adding to that."
Matt: "Ben, I get you don't like Knowles, but I know you know it'd make more sense just to have him on. Even if you drag me out there for this week's show, it's only so long before you're in this position again and Knowles is your only option."
Ben: "..."
Matt: "..."
Ben: "I'll just make Elisha Krauss the guest then."
Matt: "OK, FINE. I'll drive my studio to your studio, and I'll do the darn show."
So looking forward to this episode! - I love Matt's perspective, he does a great show.
It's really enjoyable and mentally stimulating to listen to a meaningful discussion between two first rate intellectuals.

Really great to hear someone from the religious community understand that they need to go beyond the religious to expand the political coalition that values life, liberty, and western values.

I really enjoyed most all of this interview! Candid, timely (for seeing it in 2022), and excellent analysis on a variety of core subjects.
At the very end, I can provide one answer for why folks rush off to college at age 18: sports teams and scholarships. Financial aid and top choices of where to play and on what teams are often awarded to kids in their senior HS year. If they wait, others will take their place.
