Starting a DARK ANGELS Army | From Box to Battlefield

- Dark Angels have always been the image that comes to my mind when I think of 40k but I've never really had them as an army. So with the Lion being released and my desire to practice sculpting robes I thought it was about time to make them.
We'll be going through the entire process of creating an army, from bases, building, kitbashing, painting and decals!

Hey everyone! This video took me ages to make and you can see that by the length of the video. So I've added time stamps for some of the main sections.
Bases: 01:00

Yeah, all the new stuff will make great deathwing conversions
Doing marine joints used to be the thing I hated the most. Paint black,highlight grey,try not to get any on the armor. But now I love them, put down a layer of greyseer, then black contrast over the whole thing, couple seconds and it looks perfect
I'll have to try that. But I sometimes find I have less control over contrast. Maybe I'm using too much 🤔
Love Boarding Actions! The Dark Angels look great! Now you just need to put them up against your Space Wolves. :)

These models look fantastic. The basing is really top notch too. I already have a Deathwing army but this is inspiring me to expand out to the greenwing.

These look great and I'm such a big fan of this style of video. Long format, covers a bit of the whole project. You managed to fit building, converting, basing and painting all in to one session. I know a lot of people avoid it due to the algorithm and viewing tendencies but it's really lovely to see the box to battlefield process.

drybrush based plasma glow is a novel technique, I look forward to trying it on cases where I am only painting one plasma guy

Supercool project, really fun to see your custom work! I had a lot of fun customising my chaplain as well, I'm currently thinking about doing a custom lieutenant with cloth and the like.

Haven't finished the video yet, but you mention you hate painting the rubbery material between the space marine joints. What I do is paint them light grey, without going all the way to the edge to make it easier and then use black templar contrast paint, this makes it very easy and they still look great
I've used Black Templar before on lighter models before. But I never thought about painting it grey like that before. Thanks!

I would love to see some vehicles converted for some specific chapter, especially so ornamental such as dark angels!
Some ravenwing speeders and outriders would definitely be next on my list!
Great video! For part 2 you should add actual Deathwing and Ravenwing troops. You know, bikes and termies because no matter what BS GW spills primaris blade guard have no place in a proper first company. And maybe kitbash a Belial?
It does feel weird having non terminators in Deathwing. If I did part 2 I'd definitely do more DW/RW.

Yeah, it can all be very intimidating when you start off. I will probably do a dedicated video about sculpting cloth at some point. Might be easier to follow

I think those Dark Angles really shine excellent video real eye candy as their always pushed to the back in forty k. Now their Primarch is back kicking ass they should get some great new models and the Primaris Chapters should get something in White Dwarf ! 🇺🇦🤜🤛🏴🏴🏴👍victorys to the freedom fighters of Ukraine!
