On the face of Griftah. I'm pretty sure if you buy the magic lamp he's selling, you can summon the Kripp genie. He can grant you a lifetime supply of salt, bless your arena runs and also provide a third hidden service. Any guesses on what that might be? 🤔
I actually love the way this card sounds. I've listened to it in few languages. It really worth more attention, because it perfectly represents that fun+random aspect of game we love HS for.
Hey Kripp & Rania! Thanks for keeping the content coming! I would like to request that when you talk about a card you put it on screen for plebs like myself who do not keep up with every new card. Thanks!
3:5, Kripp, i disagree with You on Griftah. I think it's actually much better, because you get to judge which cards are better for you, than for your opponent. For example: You control the board, and You get to discover fungalmancer, or some other win more card, then even if You don't get it, You don't actually help your opponent that much. Or, you're about to loose, and you discover flamestrike, or some big taunt. Does it really matter for your opponent? It's kind of like Deathwing, You need to choose the perfect moment, and realize the board, and the possibilities of both hands, accept, there beeing more fun decision making in choosing those "help me/doesn't matter for him" card, than in waiting for Deathwing :-)
Griftah is actually pretty decent in aggro/midrange decks, because you can often pick some whatever minions which your opponent has no use for. Yeti+ in most cases. You can also discover specific synergy cards like weapon/tribe synergies which you opponent can't always use.
There was a cut in the video, but when your opponent is targeting something with a card, you can see an arrow pointing it (pretty broken if you ask me) and in this case the druid probably did, since he had 0 mana left, it could only be moonfire About him drafting malygos druid, just a pun bc he had twig and moonfire :p
2:12 now I remember that my guaranteed Golden Legendary for preordering the boomsday project way back when was a disgusting Dr Morigan... so much disappointment so long ago
I don’t understand why Griftah is rated so badly, but yet Drakkari Trickster is such a good card even though they’re mostly the same. Edit: I guess by the likes some people agree with me
The reason it’s rated low and I personally think it sucks is that you don’t know which of the two cards you get hence sometimes you get shit and the opponent the good card.
The only encounter I had was playing Weaponized Piñata into Griftah into another Griftah into enemy frozen clone and that was sadly the end :( But fun encounter in the end.
OMFG I clicked and immidiately that "if you win 51% of the time you are shit in arena isn't constructed". Man when blizzard finally dies I'll be so happy
Kripp, can we have a video discussing the failure of Artifact? I’m not asking for a “haha epic fail” mocking video (not that I think you’d do that anyway) but a serious, neutral analysis of what, if anything, it means for digital card games and HS. Possible topics: How did the super team of valve, Garfield and DOTA go wrong? Was it simply the monetisation? The design? The marketing/attitude/atmosphere of the game? It’s unpopularity on twitch causing streamers to abandon it and derailing the hype train? Is it actually a bad game or a good game that’s been screwed over or misunderstood? Can it recover? Does it’s failure say anything about the future or present of digital card games? How cocky should HS be? Is Magic Arena going to work out differently? What does auto chess’ popularity compared to Artifact mean?
It seems like literally everything went wrong. Ooh! New Valve game! It's... a tie-in card game to DOTA2. Ahahahaha, hahaha, hahahaha. Aaah. Alright. And it... is not super viewer-friendly. Well, that'll hurt its competition with HS a little bit and damage its casual scene, but hopefully new players will still be interested. Oh! It's very aggressively monetized. Hey, where'd the casual scene go? Oh hey, it's everywhere else. Artifact seems like a novel game, but I fail to understand how they so efficiently made every possible mistake a major, always-online competitive game could possibly make on its way to becoming relevant in a crowded market. Because the fact is, Shadowverse is HS for degenerates and weebs, but it has way more public favor than HS does at times, and those two alone are enough to crowd the market and saturate people's time. There's no reasonable way to excuse the sheer amount of mistakes they made, but I bet an in-depth examination of how they made the decisions they did would make for a hell of a story.
I think they over estimated how interested DOTA players would be. Also, Firebat recently ripped the no-progression thing apart. Valve seems to have listened to a lot of pro players moaning about how much they hate the ladder grind in HS. So guess what kids, no ladder grind in Artifact. BUT. The amount of people that consistently grind HS for high finish legend and for whom rewards mean nothing is a TINY fraction of the player base. Normal players with families and jobs and school don’t play for ten hours a day, need rewards to build their collection, and the grind is not an issue for them.
For me the real question mark is Eternal. That game is free, reasonable for new players, complex, can be watched easily, and has high production values. Yet nobody is playing it.
@@kayfimt7769 I've heard good things about Eternal, even saw it on Steam a bit just here recently. I just haven't touched it because I've got a full schedule, but it reminds me of Duelyst in that it's a AA-looking indie card game with its own flair and charms. And I agree entirely, they way overestimated the interest of a MOBA playerbase in a TCG online game experience that just happened to have thematic ties to DOTA2. On top of how people are pissed that Valve's newest game is both a new IP and an underwhelming looking one, I think they tarnished their odds right out of the gate, along with whatever consumer goodwill they might have had otherwise.
