I remember both your rebuilds from Weekendfreedommachines. About the same time I did my 332 that was all John Deere green down to the frame like the big tractors. I always wonder as I sold mine where are these machines now.
You have some beautiful machines. Impressive! I'm kinda sad that you got the flames and pinstriping on the va-deere though. In just black and yellow it looked so sinister and sexy. Now it has Mexican lowrider vibes.. Either way, thanks for the video and food for thought on eventual projects of my own!
@@harleyiron1977 that would be awesome, maybe i could bring a few tractors down to you in the future and get you to paint them all and then I’ll bring em back home and put them on display and in tractors shows and that!
I’m down south & when a wheel horse comes on the market it’s instantly gone. I’ve got a fleet of 6 tractors, 5 of whom are Deere’s one 73 st16 & I’m eyeing up a neighbors 317 that’s been sitting in a barn for probably a decade. Nice round fender, wish mine was that nice.
The hood must have had some oil or something come out off the fiberglass and the paint bubbled on the top so I did that to fix without having to repair the entire hood
II have a 317 series 2 and installed a remote kit like you did. I am still trying to figure out the best place to mount the filter. I was going to go with where you did but a buddy of mine said it would cause problems being above the full mark. Have you noticed any issues?
@@harleyiron1977 Thanks for the reply. I have designed a drip catcher to catch oil drips. I just do not like it above the flywheel. Assuming you still have it, will take the 10ish years as a good sign.
@@gregolson5532 I still have all those and probably 12 more but zero issues with oil kit I use that in tractor pulling and shows I’d does not have many hrs on it but still a beast probably my best puller besides the black diesel if it wasn’t a pressurized system I would have mounted under frame but access is better here
@@harleyiron1977 thanks for the reply , i got a oil filter relocation kit a cpl of years ago off a cub cadet, works great been on for almost 4 years now no issues
Hey buddy i normally have wheel horse tractors,,but i just got my first Deere it is a 1982 317 with the KT17 series 2 engine and only 365 hours,, i was wondering if you could tell me what is the model or kit number for the 3 point hitch for it ,, i would appreciate it , like i said it is my first John Deere and dont really know anything about them,, thank you it is appreciated,, and by the way you have the best looking John Deere's i have ever seen ,, again thanks..

Nice looking deer's you got. I've always been a wheel horse fan but I like deer's too.

It’s only got maybe 100 hrs on it now
@@harleyiron1977 Tractor pulls? everybody I talk to says hydro's are no good for that. What is your secret? Changing the pressure relief?
Seems like you could do a better job on that hex bolt on the 300's strobe light...
The nicest john deeres i habe ever seen,, where did you get the oil relocation kit from ? Im interested in that ,,
I got from Deere but I think it’s out of production now
