- A French woman who prosecutors say was raped by dozens of men while drugged by her husband, has told a court of her horror at learning how she had been abused over a period of 10 years.
Gisèle Pélicot who is 72 was giving evidence in the trial of 51 men, including her husband of 50 years, Dominique. All are accused of rape.
Documents before the court show that Dominique Pélicot, 71, admitted to police that he got satisfaction from watching other men have sex with his unconscious wife.
Many of the defendants deny the rape charge against them, claiming they thought they were taking part in a consensual sex game. But Gisèle Pélicot told the court she was "never complicit" in the sexual acts and had not pretended to be asleep.
This is a case that has shocked France,, as the details emerge in a public trial in the city of Avignon. Gisèle Pélicot waived her right to anonymity in order to shift the "shame" onto the accused, her legal team has said.
Taking the stand in court, she said she was speaking for "every woman who has been drugged without knowing it, so that no woman has to suffer."

The husband confessed to everything. And he said that every single one of these men knew exactly what they were getting into. The very fact that he was finding these men in a chat room which was created for men who wanted/or actually did drug their women and do stuff with them without their consent is very telling. I think the chatroom itself called "without their consent" or something similar. It was r*pe, plain and simple. And every one of them were fully aware.
The other big issue is with this case, that the wife suffered from serious symptoms (as you can imagine) and visited many many doctors over the years, including several OBGYN and no one ever found out what was going on with her. The mother and her daughter were in fear for years of the mother possible Alzheimer disease and such. So another investigation is going on to look into why for years on none of the doctors was able to see the reason of the symptoms despite the fact that the use of a "r*pe drug" would had explained all of her symptoms.
The only reason the husband got busted is because he was arrested when he took under skirt pictures at a mall. The police confiscated his phone and that was when they found the videos of the abuse of the wife.

Yes, she chose to give up her anonymity. He is entitled to anonymity until he’s found guilty and is innocent until proven guilty. This is so men who are found not guilty or falsely accused are not identified unlike in the UK where even if they are found not guilty, their reputations have been completely destroyed. As soon as he is found guilty, his face will be plastered everywhere and quite rightly.

The father was caught trying to film underneath woman's skirts in public. When the police checked his phone for more evidence of that crime, they found photos and videos of his wife being assaulted.
They identified fifty one people, but about thirty others were not identified.

Likelihood there is many, many more men over the years which aren't documented to have committed the crime as they wouldn't agree to being filmed or photographed. Then of course there is the 1000s upon 1000s of men who got off on the images, videos and stories shared on the disgusting websites the men were all using.
The problem is women choose to be with men in the first place. That is the real problem.
@ChanelLover2021 I'm not sure that for many women it is a choice. Many women are attracted to men and not women and don't desire or wish to put up with celibacy or no long term relationships. Then, on the other hand, you are clearly in a privileged position to be able to opt to not be with a man and not choose a man in many cases, since so many women all over the world in various cultures and countries are not afforded such a choice, unless they wish to make a choice to take their life to avoid it.
P.s to be clear I am all for women who are sick of this behaviour from the male gender to avoid them and decentre men from their lives, like seen in Korea. For those who can do this - good for them and I hope they find peace, safety and personal fulfillment in that decision. I would also like to see women just no longer putting up with and pandering to men and their sexual abusive behaviour in general. The more who say no to it and the more who refuse to date men that way then the quicker we will see men actually change their behaviour of it in society imho. Of course though other men need to call that stuff out and try guide other men to see that women are equals deserving of respect and basic safety, not sex toys for them to use and abuse. I knew of a woman that happened to in the USA but her lawyer talked her out of reporting it. In the end she just got a restraining order and he got away with it. 🙄😡

I've seen and heard of vile stuff but somehow, this one's new for me. It isn't violent or gory but it was that the woman thought she had a happy marriage only to have something like that done to her without her knowing for over 10 years. That's the stuff people make horror movies about.

In france, they do not show a suspect's face until they are convicted.In case they are falsely convicted while being innocent. At least 15 of the men have admitted to guilt while the others tried to avoid jail. So I imagine we will see the faces after the trial.

Honestly.... you don't get over it. You just learn to live with it and have to tey rebuild yourself and life from what is still salvagable and the rest from scratch. This sort of crime ruins so many lives. It is psychological murder of the psyche. Truly, some fates are worse than death. I imagine she is carrying on mostly now to seek and get justice, which will keep her going. I really hope she can find some form of peace and normality in the aftermath of things when her case has been heard and finished. My heart breaks so much for this lady and her family and for all the families of the other abusers.
