1. Level Epic: arrange a hit song in metal style, so it sounds better than original. 2. Level Legendary: add a djenty breakdown which fits the song as if it was originally meant for it. 3. Level Leo: compose original music that draws from a multitude of styles, yet is fresh, catchy and brilliant on its own, and use it for an outro.
Thank you for not murdering the hook and the melody - one of the best 80's pop songs out here in my opinion and you did it justice. Thanks for not screwing with my childhood haha
Man... I don't know how you're doing it, but it seems like every 80's and early 90's song that you've covered and put your spin on it has reinvigorated those songs of my youth. Thanks for giving me the gift of sharing these songs with my kids the way my parents did, but I get to get my kids into Metal.
I so love Leo. New, and old school covered. He puts his own stamp on it and totally makes the songs his own. Musician, performer, producer. Leo, you are truly A One Man Army. You are living the dream my friend. Thank you
How could any one forget Roxette. Leo keep your videos coming, i cant get enough of them. I wait eagerly for your notifications to pop up, thanks my friend your incredible talented. Cheers from Canada
I've listened to every song Leo's covered. This is my favorite. He brings his own unmistakable flavor, while doing perfect service to the original. And it benefits the most from the pop/metal contrast treatment.
Roxette was and is one of my few guilty pleasures. Yes I love metal and hard rock, but for a pop rock band, Roxette made some catchy tunes, their ballads had soul, and the music was excellent. Apparently I'm not the only one who noticed that! Awesome cover. Nicely done!
I’ve never been a fan of hard core metal... until now. Leo, I don’t know how you do it, but whatever you do, keep on doing it. Thank you for your always brilliant, thoughtful and creative renditions that honor the original performers. You sir, always bring the thunder with authority and class!
Its taken me four months to work up the courage to listen to this. I loved this song as a kid. I fell in love for the first time when this song was hot. I must say Leo, you did not disappoint. I'm so impressed you were able to do this with this song that means so much to me.
You have got me completely hooked. Its like hearing the songs for the first time and falling in love with them for the first time... and the greatest part I don't have to learn the lyrics - I already know them! Your amazing.
Very good, made me go back in time. Dude, you're just inspiring to me .. and I'm sure for many too. *I hope one day you will get the sound and creative quality you have.*
I love 'How do you do". It reminds me of being a kid and renting out 'ToeJam and Earl' for the Genisis and playing it all weekend, listening to How Do You Do, on repeat, on cassette.
You're the 1st person I've ever heard say that! For real! Except sum sportsball fans which I don't consider friends. All my friends feel the same as I do. You have a right to ur opinion mang. I don't hate you for it. Not that much. 😉🏓
i heard this on the radio the day it was released in 1988 and i was like this is going number one lol:) and your version is now number one in 2020! RIP Marie!:(
Hello, Leo. I love your work and can't wait to see what you come up with next. I'd like to respectfully suggest another collaboration with Hannah in a metal cover of "Come Undone" by Duran Duran. Thank you and keep up the great work!
I don't know if I'm proud or should be embarrassed about this being one of my favorite songs when I was growing up in my younger years. I had all but forgotten about it until now. Thank you LEO for giving The Look a new look and a revisiting of my childhood!
This song can't get on Amazon fast enough! So many I've bought from songs I loved growing up ( basically being the only things other than metal I'll listen to) but now I'm up to 3 cd's (yeah still cd's) and it's almost all I listen to. I wish I could get a request or two... I'd love to hear Under the Bridge by the chilli peppers or it would be hard but Bohemian Rapsody. So many I can think of from the 90's too. Keep em coming!!
amazing dude!!! thanks !!! every cover you make goes directly to my playlist!!!! didn't thought of roxette covers... excellent choice, what about one of them but featuring mary or hanna, when you sing with them it's mindblowing
Yer - him taking Temple of Love (maybe with that female there helped him with Africa- HUUUH) that will take that to a whole new level - that could be SOO cool.
Honestly, I haven't come across a single one of your covers I haven't liked, but this one is something special. It surprised me just how damn good it was.
Tuned in a few days ago....just soooooo impressed. THANK YOU for what comes from inside of you and your spirit to do these covers. God Bless you and your awesome family. Humble request- how about a cover of Cutting Crew's "I just died in your arms tonight"? :)
Each video you put up is only gets better and better than the previous ones. I love what you do with these songs, you breathe new life into them.. Thank you for all you do.
Love it!! One of my four favourite songs from my childhood. If you're feelin it Leo, -David Bowies China Girl -The Bangles Walk like and Egyptian And -Roxette's Joyride >:D
Leo! This was awesome. Can you do a cover of Barracuda by Heart? It was one of my mom’s favorite songs and tomorrow 8/18 would had been her 60th birthday but I lost her to cancer 4 years ago on 8/28/14. My mom would had loved your covers.
The mark of a great musician is being able to take a song someone else did, and make it their own while still paying homage to the original source. You sir are a great musician!
You jam as Hard as on Afrika when i first tasted your phenomenal ideas and covers.Your a legit viking musican. And a Gman as farther husband and ICON.Stay in that fresh air youre the dopest small crew.Respect soldier
Wow man, that forcefully, mentally, took me back to my youth ... was such a slam in to memories that I actually got light headed for a second. Good times.
3 things here: 1) Awesome cover. I do love how you manage to do a metal cover of a different genera and stay true to the song while definitely making it your own. Some bands struggle to pull that off once and you do it consistantly. 2) Love the pedal work. 3) I'd love to see you cover something by Suicidal Tendancies; from How Will I Laugh Tomorrow or Institutionalized. Keep up your awesomeness!
R.I.P Marie Fredriksson, amazing voice, im a metalhead but Roxette was always a guilty pleasure of mine
Me too. Sad to hear about Marie, she had a tough deal.
I'm not even guilty about this pleasure. 😎
Right there with ya!
Nothing guilty about roxette lol

Remember Roxette?
Joyride was the first CD I owned...
Doing any more Roxette songs? Been a while since i heard em so could be nice with your versions.
Yes, yes I do.
Very fun! If you do another Roxette you should do Dangerous! :)
Definitely do, still a fan. Great cover sir
In memory of Marie Fredriksson (1958 - 2019)
In memory of Marie, thanks LEO this metal version is great
RIP Marie Fredrikkson 🖤
You sir are a ridiculous talent! I'm surprised you're not signed to a major label! Fantastic!
Yup, going to be singing this in my head all day. Thanks Leo.
Lagbait
LOL, ain't that the truth, me too.
Who Dat!!
Could be worse. He could have covered "Heart and Soul" by T'Pau.
Leo you are brilliant. You got me with your style. I'm watching you from Mexico 😘
Mexico! Ha! Russian federation, Siberia hear you, Leo!
Hands down the best cover I've ever heard of this song.
100%
What about this one?
th-cam.com/video/nA2_mvYr5Xk/w-d-xo.html
Another great cover! Would have liked to see Hannah on vocals on this one!
Scrolled down to say this too
That would have been awesome 👏
Kevin Erdmann. I agree completely.
Love when he features Rob, Hannah and Mary! He should do a video with all three.
Mary or Hannah would have been a great choice
Just had to listen to this today. RIP Marie Fredriksson :(
Thank you for not murdering the hook and the melody - one of the best 80's pop songs out here in my opinion and you did it justice. Thanks for not screwing with my childhood haha
You continue to impress and entertain... thanks for driving my family mad since you have taken over my playlist....
All we listen to now is Leo!!!!
Damn that brought back my youth and made it 1000x better!!
Man... I don't know how you're doing it, but it seems like every 80's and early 90's song that you've covered and put your spin on it has reinvigorated those songs of my youth. johnnysacco100 me too! i wait for the notifications as well. this guy is awesome!
I've listened to every song Leo's covered. This is my favorite. He brings his own unmistakable flavor, while doing perfect service to the original. And it benefits the most from the pop/metal contrast treatment.
Nobody's gonna talk about that Hanson shirt? No one? Just me then? Okay....
Another great cover! Would have liked to see Hannah on vocals on this one!
Rest in Peace, Marie.

Two words, Leo: "Absolutely Exceptional!" You give a recovering, opiate addict, an immense amount of hope and inspiration...! Thank you!
Oooooooohhh what a great song one of my favourites songs from the beginning of my childhood.
I’ve never been a fan of hard core metal... until now. Leo, I don’t know how you do it, but whatever you do, keep on doing it. Thank you for your always brilliant, thoughtful and creative renditions that honor the original performers. You sir, always bring the thunder with authority and class!
My take has always been if I can make out the lyrics then it's not hardcore. So, I like this but hardcore not so much.
Its taken me four months to work up the courage to listen to this. I loved this song as a kid. I fell in love for the first time when this song was hot. I must say Leo, you did not disappoint. I'm so impressed you were able to do this with this song that means so much to me.
Excellent. As always. Leo is the metal cover king!!🕩🕪🎸🎧🎶🎵
You have got me completely hooked. Its like hearing the songs for the first time and falling in love with them for the first time... and the greatest part I don't have to learn the lyrics - I already know them! Your amazing.

Or even *"Hotblooded"* would be nice.
Yet another awesome cover! I'd love to hear a metal cover of John Denver Country Roads
growing up in WV makes a person hate this song! Not trying to be rude. Leo would do a good job for sure!! I hate the song. 🏓🏓
Eddie Dingle , I'm from Dub V & I love the song. Especially when you live elsewhere and feel homesick.
You're the 1st person I've ever heard say that! For real! Except sum sportsball fans which I don't consider friends. All my friends feel the same as I do. You have a right to ur opinion mang. I don't hate you for it. Not that much. 😉🏓
And I don't live there any longer
Eddie Dingle you're the first person I've seen from WV that hates it lol
