That would of been heaving with people in the 70s: W,ton is a shadow of its former self. You only know that if your my age: the young don,t know any different. And this is happening to every town and city in the country. Todays primary school children, will in 20+ years time buy their wants online, which will further lead to the decline of the high street. When l look around some of these big shops especially the one that replaced Debenhams, Frazers l think it is called in the Mander centre, there are virtually no customers in there, and that was on a Saturday, how long can they afford to do that.....sports direct on the lower floor is quite busy, but the designer clothes section on the upper floor is virtually empty. I used to like wandering around the shops in the early 70s......now W,ton is very run down, with beggars and drunks: and the interesting shops of the past, replaced by charity shops, vape shops, mobile repair shops, and nail salons, how very sad this once great city has become.
I am glad you get the point. The reason why when I visit a city, what I film most of the time is their city centre and some major shopping centre, it is to pass a message to my viewers so they can see and tell for themselves what these places are like and if they are retrogressing or moving forward. Iv'e been in 18 indoor shopping centres and this is by far the worst, very tight cramped like a rabbit warren. Alot of the shops are cheap independent retailers horrible.
