    5:12 so I said Tola🤩🤩🤩 That is because the two sauces look so much alike and I was constantly saying tola in the voice notes. I deleted them, but that one decided to stay🤣🤣

    Love the okra. In Zimmi where I lived they called okro gombo, the origin of the American name for their version of this stew! I also lived in Sudan and would go out into the bush and pick wild okra! They were a beautiful purple and green colour. Sooooo good! in one week I will be living back in a tropical country (Belize instead of Canada) and will be able to grow okra. The krio in Belize has some commonalities with that in Sierra Leone! Small small world!

      Wow it's indeed a small world. The "gombo" word really sounds familiar. I've heard it from my mom and she's a Mende.
      Thank you for watching Anthony. By the way, you've got my dad's name 🥰🤗

    Looks so yummy, but its so interesting we all have different ways of cooking. I start off with the palm oil and ogirie andd add the pepper last even after I have added the dried okra as I like my foos spicy

    • @antoinettegeorge7267
      @antoinettegeorge7267  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know right, cooking methods can be really different, It's an art🤩🤩. I boil everything first because dried okra and tola don't need to boil for too long.
      Thanks for watching love

    So the same thing you did here by adding the palm oil to the dry okra and mixing, is the same as you do with the tola right?!

    Giving us back to back yumminess😍. I love draw soup and okra is my fave. My mom used to cook this growing up and I want to try it but we don’t have the powder here.
    You mentioned you can diy by cutting the okra into small pieces and drying out in the sun before blending. How many days should it be dried for?

    • @antoinettegeorge7267
      @antoinettegeorge7267  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks love. The number of days will depend on the sun, but when it’s dry you’ll know. It will change color from green to brownish and will have that hard texture. You can put a small amount into your grinder and if it comes out well, then you’re good. If you don’t have enough sunlight then I suggest you finish drying in the oven on low heat and check constantly so it doesn’t burn.
