Not my favorite episode, but “that’s genius. Best prank ever.” still cracks me up twelve years later.
Jim was such a villain in this episode, that's what i remember the most. He had a major fuck up with Pam and his Idea of "making up for it" was to exploit Dwight's deepest insecurities and force him to shell out (like you said) maybe 10k of his own money on repairs.
And at the end: "Why are you such a jerk? I'm trying to do something nice for my wife here" like Jim are you fucking serious, you're ordering around Dwight like a chauffeur just to try and get pies to fix your marriage problems that are entirely your fault, and then you're gonna get mad at Dwight when he isn't thrilled about the whole thing? What a bully.
One of my favorite episodes though, it's hella fun
Agree. Jim is trying to relieve his own guilt for the marriage problems that he created, but he's trying to do that at others' expense. He's giving Andy a run for his money at being the biggest a-hole in this episode. If Jim wanted to give his family a week of fun, then he should've asked for some vacation time.
One of my favorite post-Michael episodes
One of the best Season 9 episodes.
"dwight" is in he episode "mr. monk goes to the ballgame" a lot like in the office and his dog is named toby lol
Must confess I was not expecting our host to dislike the Philly arc this much! Though I totally understand relishing the break from the drama. I feel exactly the same about Work Bus even though I think the Philly arc works well overall.
11:17 one of my favorite Jim/Dwight bonding moments
It feels like a real stepping stone for them
After this show, you should deep dive each character in the Office that warrants an individual video and how their characters evolved or.....devolved.
Good idea😀
The roll call in this episode is a contender for cringiest scene in the series
Top 5 yeah but that Chris brown dance thing in the wedding Niagara episode. By far one of the worst things I’ve seen in any show ever. Not just the office. Skip it every single time. I’ll tolerate roll call sometimes out of laziness.
The Kevin pie moment was PURE CRINGE. Like the WORST moment of his character.
Nah, that pot of Chile cold open was waaaay worse IMO
@@lemhobbs4628 nah that was funny. He was so disappointed.
With the benefit of not having re-watched this episode in over a decade, I see it in a much more positive light. I like the "rest stop" analogy of this episode with respect to all the drama that we've had in the prior episodes and the upcoming drama. The thing that sticks out the most for me is what an a-hole Jim is in this episode where he's trying to ease his own sense of marital guilt at others' expense. Jim, if you're trying to make it up to Pam, then don't force things upon your coworkers.
After Jury Duty, I didn't think he could be that big of a douche again.
I like this one. It's one of the few in season 9 I don't skip.
"What do we want? PIES! When do we want it? PIES!" is my favorite post-Michael line.
Are you doing a Field Guide for Parks and Rec?? Did I ask this already??
#sixseasonandafieldguide
I always love it when you have a laugh
I actually hate the "The fat people have spoken" line, coz they all want pie not just the fat people.
I am a little surprised, this episode did not do it for me at all, and one of my biggest pet peeves is they got to a popular pie stand 5(?) minutes before closing and there are still all the pies available!?
I know i know tv.... but still
@Mulverine at 3:09, I swear that says Monkey and not Money.
NO why would you re-visit The Office? Your series has done each episode and each season justice. It's time to move on. Parks and Rec...
No, Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Why not both Brooklyn-Nine-Nine and Parks and Rec!
@@KingMaseyYou are a genius.

"I WANT WAFFLE PIES"
Come to St. Louis!
This is one of the least watched (post Michael Scott) episodes for me. I get that it's a break from the drama but it feels a bit cartoonish like each character is playing an exaggerated version of themselves. It kinda reminds me of the Gettysburg trip episode. Which is another one I truly don't watch often. 3/5
BTW, Dwight's politics has always been far right. He would've been the Shaman on J6 in an ALT universe 🤣
30 seconds ago posted? Lets goo
5 out of 5....but how many pies is that?
I'd only want another office rewatch if you actually criticize certain characters and not just play defense all the time
Re: Dwight's politics, I always got the impression that he was a dedicated conservative when he shouted "welcome to the no spin zone!!" in the customer complaint episode, but I never felt like there was quite enough to prove it...
... and then we got the Superfan episodes, in which (I don't remember which episode) Dwight asks Angela how he looks and she swells up with pride and says: "you look like Antonin Scalia" with a look that manages to be about 40% proud and 60% turned on. Dwight being honored by that compliment sealed it for me, in my head he was 100% on of the January 6th rioters lol
I really enjoy this episode.
the cold open is amazing the fart sound
You need to listen to the Office Ladies podcast. The cast refers to this episode as "Death Bus". Also, their podcast is delightful
Dwight is certainly a libertarian-republican, right?
14:30 Laverne is so cute❤🥹❤❤🥹
My guess is this guy is sitting on a gold mine of crypto and is doing this for the lulz. Good for him.
I didn't realize my man Heisenberg directed this one. Awesome! This is a pretty fun episode after some very very tiresome stuff. Nellie's story sucks; she is absolutely not qualified to take care of children; a conniving, racist, spendthrift who can't drive or act like a human shouldn't be a parent. I hate the whole "we know the other party is wrong but pretend they aren't and the other guy is a jerk so okay!" line of logic but its a decent payoff. Jim is a jerk in this episode like you said but I'm the dude who always thought that about him. Kevin and Creed steal the episode.
I have never been this early before.
Neat.
That's what she said
Honestly one of the best episodes in season 9
This was an OK episode, but 5 out of 5? Sorry, but this is a 3 at best. A 5 would need to be way funnier and rank high in the pantheon of the entire series. Work Bus is just not that. The adoption story alone takes it down a notch.
I think season 8 and 9 are doing things to me.
@@Mulverineyeah at the beginning of this series you said you were ranking on a curve of the entire series, but now you say you’re ranking episodes on a curve self contained within each season.
Truth! I’m working through setting my rankings for each season so I can eventually calibrate across the whole series.
2/5 episode definitely
PARKS AND REC PLEASE
A political breakdown of the office would be incredible.
The politics and religion of The Office would be a fun topic, I think. Those topics were always very generalized and downplayed, probably a good decision in retrospect.
If you do rewatch the Office, you should do a live reaction and discussion since you’ve stated many times that it’s been a while since you’ve watched the Office. Just a thought. 😊
Idk if it'd be that exciting to watch. My resting analytical face is just the :| emoji come to life.
@@Mulverine haha that’s also true 😅
RESTART PLEASE
I skip this one tbh
IMHO, \*this\* is the worst episode in the entire series.
Agreed that it’s up there. it’s hard to even make it through the clips in this video. S8 and S9 are just terrible
Second comment
I love this episode, the opening is cringey, i always skip it, but the episode has so many good lines and scenes, its one of my favorite post-michael episodes
2:59 lol Mulverine, I want to say you're so not black lol you always bring up the black jokes and (act) like you do you get them. Ain't nobody gone (black talk for a black situation) learn no damn PowerPoint unless someone shows it to us. There is the fear of "that's not how you do that. WHO TAUGHT YOU" "Oh don't you know how to do this?" "Show the new guy" and how all these examples lead to "well we don't need you anymore". We can't learn nothing new at a job cuz it often leads to getting fired. Just joking with you bout being black but this is like the 3rd "insider black" joke you've missed in the series.
Learn something new everyday!
oh sh- we are approaching the field guide ending🥲
this is gonna hurt like a motherfu.
