Short button head screws through the tyres last a life time in comparison. Can't beat genuine but if your in a pocket pinch it will be better than slicks 👌
G'day...I have an HRU216 self propelled without the blade brake feature so I reckon it's about circa 2004....anyway I need help with:- 1) adjustment of the new throttle cable I fitted.as I think it either slips under the very simple clamp plate or some other issue...because it is running rich and puffing black smoke....like the choke is still engaged even if I nudge the throttle back... 2) I have the dreaded click click click from the wheel drive gearbox ....I was wondering how you drop the whole axle & gearbox assembly from the chassis so that I can investigate the selector arm and spring that you show in your video... Is it a big procedure to drop the gearbox? Cheers Rodders in Melbourne
The cable shouldn't slip if that clamp plate is tight . I will make a quick video showing how to take the gearbox out, but the wheels don't click if its a gearbox problem . Are you sure its not the wheel rachets
@@mowtech7397 Hi..thanks for coming back to me.....definitely gearbox issues...as I select each speed at it's respective detent....1...2....or .....3 the wheels don't drive and there is a horrible clunking sound like a dog clutch not engaging so I have to "jiggle" the orange selector lever until it finally goes into that gear/speed. On the other issue I described, I am assuming that black smoke and slow build up in revs...is the throttle cable/choke adjustment out of wack....and the choke is still active...or do you think I have another issue?....carbon build up in the head?....I have checked and set the valve backlash adjustment and it is fine....and was close to original spec....the other thought I had was to replace the muffler in case it is causing a back pressure issue...but I don't believe a simple four stroke would be that sensitive....your thoughts would be appreciated.
You seem knowledgeable regarding this mower. Can you tell me what the "U" stands for in HRU216. I know H stands for Honda, R stands for rotary, 21 is the blade length, and 6 is for the horsepower of the engine.
Another informative video. Well done. (My only suggestion would be to use a tripod or camera stabiliser/gimbal as the camera movement can be a little nausea inducing.)
If it is sounding like it is skipping at full engage all speeds try tightening your cable as the stretch we use 2 commercial use and one is 5 years old other is 18 months. The newer one was running like a dog so did the throttle fix worked a treat then started skipping gears after 3 months starting with speed 3 then 2 then 1 As expected. I tensioned up that cable to feel off the bar you engage with and it has not played up since. Hope this helps someone 👍
Awesome vid no nonsense straight to the points, much appreciated, subbed
Cheers for this video mate! Confirmation on a few topics.
What size screw driver fits the govner screw?
Can u put bigger wheels on it? so it will roll better

How do u replace the wheels?
Original bag works great, just shake it out each time to clear the vent mesh.
I’ve put a Styhl connect on not happy with it but no one seems to carry hr meters anymore

Great tips - thanks !!
That was pretty good info thanks .
The catcher bag info was great . Does the hours of use meter run on a battery and can you make a video on that ?
The hour meter is just a wire running to the spark plug

Mate I have no idea .it could be utility
