    I love this video it looks so pretty. The hair cutting technique that you did to the bottom of the hair is called point cutting. This technique is what caused the uneven look at the bottom of the hair. I would not recommend point cutting on the bottom length of the wig. Instead cut it even with scissor at the bottom then use thinning shears about a 1/2 inche to an inch from the bottom to soften the line. Point cutting works great for layers. Also point cutting is great for creating an angle around the face. I'm a licensed stylist in California and did it professionally from 1987 to 2003 then I had a career change. When my own hair started to thin because of health issues I started wearing wigs. Synthetic hair doesn't cut like human hair but the hair cutting techniques are the same so it was easy for me to adjust. I have learned a lot from your videos and I really enjoy your tutorials. So thank you so much for what you do. I wear wigs or toppers almost everyday now. I hope these tips help your then way your videos have helped me :) One of these days I will have to make a wig hair cutting video to show some techniques.

    I'm one of those who likes my wigs straight. If I wanna straighten them, I'll spray them with water and put in a heat protecter then comb it out while its still damp. Let it air dry then I'll use a flat iron on the lowest setting. Or if I'm feeling lazy and want it done quick, I'll use the hot water in a pot method.

    Out of curiosity, have you used silicone spray instead of pledge? It’s pretty popular in the cosplay community and it doesn’t leave a greasy residue on the fibers! I’ve used it for a few of my long curly wigs and they’ve been sooo much more manageable because of it!

    is it possible to do this with a hair dryer instead of a steamer? i have a wig thats in that weird wavy-ish straight-ish state when its right out of the bag but i want it to be 100% straight so maybe the power of the steamer isn't as needed?

      You can find some good one's on Amazon. There's one company I buy from on Amazon called sexy baby. Their wigs are pretty high quality. They don't really tangle or shed at all. The only drawback is that it does take a little over a week depending on where you live since the company's based I think in New York or New Jersey. Nonetheless, they have really great hair.

    I love wigs but i don't have it

  • @ZaqVanity
    @ZaqVanity 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just be careful with how much you brutalise the hair when brushing it out. The steam works wonders but if you actually damage the fibre from repeated, harsh brushing, the steam can't actually fix that. That's why older, more used wigs get that 'fried' feeling at the end.
    Definitely wash your previously styled wigs before attempting to straighten - the residual product makes it harder to work through and leads to the above problem.
    Keep up the good work! Love your videos x
