I can't blame Donna, she showed great hustle in the last few weeks, imagine playing 3 big events in a row on 3 different surfaces, she made semis at Wimbledon and went all the way at the Olympics, wishing her to recapture form at the US Open.

I know exactly what you mean, even these betting companies were favoring Verkic to win, but I knew that Krueger was gonna win this match based on her strength on couple of previous 2 matches that she played

Vekic played this game suffering from some kind of illness (looked visibly drained) and searched for medical timeout whilst she was leading. It was impressive that she even managed to be in front. Later, it became pretty much evident that she's just waiting for the match to finish because she was barely standing on her feet. She will come back at US Open, this things happen.
That's how she looks most matches.

for almost every single drop shot they showed, except for one donnas drop shots sucked and I was very surprised to see Ashlyn only run down one .....well of that they showed in the highlights
Krueger hits the ball mostly straight to vekic.
Hitting down the middle doesn’t give Vekic many angles so it’s kind of a smart play. Make Vekic beat you(which she sometimes can lol)

Смотрел первые 2 сета, Донна играла намного лучше, особенно на приёме! Но порой спорт несправедлив, во 2 сете при счёте 3-3 ей стало плохо, она взяла медик, могла бы закрывать на так, ведя с мини-брейком, но увы. На 3й сет попросту не хватило, считаю что Крюгер не заслужила победу
