  • In today's video, we head to MCO-Orlando International Airport to stay in one of the rooms at the Hyatt Regency. We have an early flight the next day so we thought it would be best for us to stay the night at the Hyatt at the Orlando airport. We have never stayed here before so we didn't know what to expect. We loved it! The Hyatt Regency located at MCO is a super nice hotel. We booked the stay, park, and go package that included our parking for the duration which was cheaper than just parking our car there. The food was basic but we didn't get anything fancy. We wanted to spend more time at the hotel because it felt like a resort! The staff was friendly and the rooms were great. If you are looking for hotels near Orlando International Airport-MCO, then you should look into staying at the Hyatt Regency. We would recommend it!

    We have stayed there several times for our very early flights back to Colorado before we moved to The Villages. We enjoyed it and it was so convenient for early AM flights.

    Very useful. Seems like the obvious thing to do. Thanks! PS. At 1:30AM, I would have gotten a room and slept late...and probably had a big breakfast before departing. 😁

    hope you guys had a great trip! we stayed there once when our flight was canceled because of a storm before they refurbished the place, and we were impressed by the rooms and that was in 2018 or 17 and it felt weird looking at the airport lobby from the balcony when we always looked up at the hotel balcony from the airport lobby

      I thought the balconies were closed for some stupid “security reasons” after 9-11 because they think some people sitting on a balcony are a security threat.

  • @beingkitschroeder2507
    @beingkitschroeder2507 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I think the balconies are locked because someone jumped a couple years ago.

    • @thealtemlife
      @thealtemlife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, we remember that story and figured that is what it’s from. It is probably best that they keep them locked.

    So, it's both a hotel and an airport combined into one?
    I never knew that until now.

      @@thealtemlife I've been to the Orlando International Airport fewer times and I've wondered what the upper levels were.
      It is quite convenient that the airport has a hotel in it so people can have a place to stay and won't miss their flights, especially when the hotels at the Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort are packed.

    • @thealtemlife
      @thealtemlife  14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @JoshuaModerwell agreed! Or if you are local but have an extremely early flight leaving, it is nice to have a spot to stay. We enjoyed it!

    Thank you for this review! We came into MCO in June from Calif for a week in The Villages, and when we were heading home I was wishing we’d stayed at the Hyatt the night before our flight because we got to the airport 3 hours early for a 10am flight out of fear of not having enough time. Was it very expensive if you don’t mind me asking?

    • @thealtemlife
      @thealtemlife  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You are welcome! It was a very nice place and it’s nice not having to rush around. It was around $350 I believe but that also included the 7 days of parking that we kept our car at the airport, which airport parking isn’t cheap. It is discounted parking when you pay for the package. So overall, it really isn’t a bad price if you think about the price of parking, it is well over $100 for that length at the airport, which would make the room price in the $200s for a resort like hotel! Not sure what the room price is without the park stay fly package.

    We are staying here tomorrow to kick off our 12 days vacation. Do you know if we park our car in Economy Lot (we don't have a park and fly room rate), can we just shuttle back to Hyatt from Economy Lot? If so, is there an entrance to Hyatt from inside the terminal? Thanks

    • @thealtemlife
      @thealtemlife  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! It’s a great place to stay and we hope you have a great time! Not 100 percent sure on these answers but you can access the hotel from inside the airport. There is an escalator that will take you up to check in. As far as the parking, you should be fine because as long as they get you inside the terminal, then you can walk to check in at hotel. They should offer shuttles that will take you to airport and from there you can get to the hotel. They make it pretty easy for you and it was really easy to check in and find the room. Hope that helps!

    • @thealtemlife
      @thealtemlife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! Yes we do! A couple reasons. 1) because we didn’t have to fight the traffic driving in the morning 2) we could sleep in a little longer 3) parking was discounted 4) it was a really nice hotel.
      Hope this helps! We would for sure stay again 😀

      @@thealtemlife Appreciate your response! We have stayed at the Tampa Airport Marriott twice and it was great too. It is older than the Hyatt, but still a nice to walk out the entrance and go right to your gate.

    We used to stay at the Hyatt either when arriving late or for the last day of a vacation. They used to have a great breakfast buffet (not included in the price of the stay) at Hemisphere Restaurant on the highest floor with great views of the runways. Unfortunately, the restaurant is no longer open for breakfast. Besides, just a short shuttle ride away, you can get good and clean hotels at half or less than what you would pay at the Hyatt and the convenience of literally staying inside the airport doesn't outweigh the price difference for me. On our last visit, we had a good experience with the Holiday Inn Express (with a great free breakfast) over at S Conway Road.

    • @thealtemlife
      @thealtemlife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the info! Yeah the price was the only real downfall but going into it, we knew it would cost more. We really liked the convenience of it but for some, it may not be worth it. We will have to check out the Holiday Inn Express sometime. Thanks for watching!

      @@thealtemlife Also, not sure if it was because of your room location or because of newer safety rules, but when we stayed there, we could open the balcony door and go out. Our room was located on the shorter side, I think, so we basically had the side with the lobby and the elevators on our right and the side you stayed in on our left. Also, our balconies were squared, with a big planter and some plants at the front, whereas yours seemed to be rounded.
      By the way, there are also rooms with outside views.

    • @thealtemlife
      @thealtemlife  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Brandis13 Yeah, there was incident that caused them to block off all balconies. It was nice for us to see the security entrance so we would know how long the wait times were. It would be cool to see hat the rooms with outside views look like. Also, we didn't have a chance to visit the pool. Have you ever?

    • @Brandis13
      @Brandis13 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thealtemlife OH, ok, didn't know that. It's kind a shame though to have those balconies and not be able to go out. I liked to watch the fountain from there. The pool is pretty small, but still OK, the sundeck isn't very inviting though. Also, I would have loved a hot tub to relax in, especially as the pool was kind of cool. Not really cold, but it definetly took some effort to fully submerge in.
      Also, the gym area looked pretty big and nice.
