Love how you simultaneously make it look so difficult yet so simple. That's the sign of a great teacher.

Hi Nate! Thanks so much for this! It’s by far the clearest tutorial I’ve seen so far. I’m brand new to jump rope at age 58, and really need lots of non-impact skills to practice so I don’t overdo it and end up with an injury. Liked and subscribed with bells on! Thanks again and rock on!

That is SO cool! I'm fired up about learning this trick. I jumped as a kid in Elementary school and enjoyed it, but as an out-of-shape dad I am excited about learning some of these new tricks!

Great video! Thank you. Mic release is definitely a tough one for me but I can already see the progress. A reason for a small personal celebration. :)

Hi, I want to do the skill on my right side using my left hand to turn, and in the video you say to go counterclockwise. Then why, when performing on the right side, do you turn the rope clockwise with your left hand? I have tried to make it turn counterclockwise but it is impossible, I find it more natural to do it clockwise!

It's been 6 months I'm trying to get it regularly.. just can't ! Either the rope gets caught on itself or my arm. If I make it I usually catch the rope and then it gets locked on my hand ! Watched all the tutorials out there 😅 Is there anything I'm doing wrong ?

I don't think I get that trick because I left my rope too long, what is the recommended measure?

Does it matter what kind of jump rope you have ?

Yes, a Short Handle Beaded rope will be the easiest to learn on. You can technically learn on any rope, but jump ropes are designed for different purposes. And the Beaded Ropes are great for tricky freestyle like this 😁

It’s pronounced Mike, because it is named after a microphone release

Actually it is Mick release and is abbreviated as Mic that's why his pronunciation is correct.
