Passing the CPA exams is when you study hard, if you can't study or you don't have time for your studies I'd advise you get yourself a help like Mr Dylan.
sounds like the exam has changed since this webinar was posted. Core 1 now has 75 MCQ and 1 PC according to the exam blueprint. How would you recommend changing study strategy as a result?
I was able to pass Core 1 September 2021 exam by getting a NC in Financial Reporting and C in Audit & Assurance for the first case, and in the second case I got C for Financial Reporting, CD for Taxation, and CD for Audit & Assurance.
Congrats. I didn’t review my exam but unfortunately I didn’t pas the exam even though my module grade prior was 85%. I found the first exam difficult and the second easier.
@@leesword5227 I think what helped me a lot with passing was my university final year courses as they explained and did lots of examples similar to CPA so I was able to practice several cases before even starting my CPA. Also, time management is quite important so make sure you're doing the cases within the allotted time for each weekly assignment set. Better luck next time, you're not alone, Core 1 has the lowest passing rate out of all of its courses anyways.
@@JessicaSankar1399 yes would have been beneficial listening to this video during my studies. I agree my main problem was not finishing the practice cases within the allotted time, this was perhaps my downfall. It is mentally draining especially if you failed so finding the drive to reattempt core 1 is my first step!

@@GevorgCPA I just got my Core 1 exam results and I wanted to say your video helped me a lot in preparing for the exam. I somehow managed to get a CD on Tax and C on the rest. Thank you for posting such valuable content.
It shows in your overall transcript when you log it to CPA portal (the place where you register for modules). Once you pass CFE and graduate, no one really looks at it, so I wouldn't worry. If for some reason your employer questions it, have a pre-planned answer, something like: "The issue was with X. Next time I’ll do Y. I took some time off, kept studying and will keep trying again with a stronger mindset."
CD and C are worth the same and the number of C/CD you get gives you a certain number of points. So a C/CD does not offset an NC, however if you get lots of C/CD, you will "get away" with more NCs (eg if you have 2 NC but everything else is C/CD, you will very likely pass).

TH-cam, he must be a very awesome help
Yes you're correct but remember heaven helps those who help themselves, try studying if you can't study then get yourself a good help
CPA exam might seem so tough to pass but studying very hard is a very vital skill to win trust me.
Everyone has their own way, Dylan worked for me and studying didn't .
passed mine after studying so hard, I'm not discouraging anyone just wanna say do whatever you believe will help you pass.

i got NC in FR, C in Finance and C in Tax [Case 1], RC in FR and RC in Audit [Case 2] for core 1 exam in September 2020. Overall Result: PASS
Good job! This confirms that you can get away with max 1-2 NC, the rest must be RC or ideally C. Overall it depends on how others write on each AO.
That doesn’t seem true tbh I don’t believe it
Hi Gevorg, thanks for the videos. Would you please address PERT for those who are not in pre-approved program route. Thanks
thank you, i will be starting core 1 January
any updates for you?

I am very bad at tax.
what does NoA mean?
what is TCG / ACL?
thanks in advance!
NoA is Notice of Assessment. TCG is taxable capital gains. ACL is allowable capital loss.

Hi Gevorg. Do you know if failing Core 1 or any PEP course leaves a bad remark anywhere? On transcripts or letters and stuff?

Starting Core 1 end of April. Are you still providing webinars/tips/advise?
any updates for you?
Perfect explanation for new CPA candidates! Will Spring 2021 Core 1 session have a two cases final exam?
Very likely. The official update will be posted here: www.cpacanada.ca/en/become-a-cpa/certification-program-covid19-updates
Do you know if test for core 1 in 2022 will change to PC and MCQs?
Not confirmed, we know Dec 2021 is cases only at this point
Hi Gevorg, is it possible for CD to offset NC,?
And does the average for all writers determines a curve for passing threshold?
CD and C are worth the same and the number of C/CD you get gives you a certain number of points. So a C/CD does not offset an NC, however if you get lots of C/CD, you will "get away" with more NCs (eg if you have 2 NC but everything else is C/CD, you will very likely pass).
Yes the average performance makes a difference on passing.
For the passing threshold discussion, don't MCQs weigh more
It's not officially disclosed, but from my experience they don't. Check this new video I made on that topic: th-cam.com/video/ICPqnTfqZ_Y/w-d-xo.html
@Gevorg CPA Thanks. 3 weeks to the exam now. Hopefully, I pass and I will definitely take your assistance for Core 2.
any updates for you@@imranabbas854
Can someone say where is the Core1 module PDF??? I want to know how is it.
When you sign up for Core 1, you get access to D2L (Desire 2 Learn), CPA Canada's online learning platform. You will find all the PDFs there.
This CORE 1 case example is on the CPA website
Will the change to the multiple choice questions remain the same for the 2021 semesters as well?
Winter and Spring 2021 terms are still 2 cases, no MCQs, per CPA Canada.
@@GevorgCPA any update on the summer core 1? My exam is in September.
@@SummeRain783 Its still home based exam with 2 cases for Sep.
