It was the bullets from Bond's gun. Armor piercing.

John suit is bullet proof but if you have weapons and bullets strong enough it can be pierced.
Not to mention the suit took alot of damage before the final shots. James first shot, the cigarette rocket, the point blank explosion from the pen, and the car miniguns. We can call it bulletproof but like any "bulletproof" armor, it will eventually wear down and fail after enough damage.

His suit WAS bulletproof. He took a hail of bullets to the back from James’ car. But bulletproof doesn’t mean it don’t hurt.

The gadgets
I love y'all but respectfully disagree with this one. If Bond didnt have all those gadgets, it would have been different, IMO😅
Even without the gadgets, Bond is still a tough opponent to face. Also, you can't have a fight with Bond without the gadgets, it would be like making a fight with Inspector Gadget, but asking the Inspector to take his hat off...
Bro please John Wick uses a pencil, books and a gun. Without weapons James Bond is even more dangerous let alone the comics version as well 😂
Bond having Supersonic reaction speeds compared to John's superhuman combat speed made this fight instantly over. If you understood how vs battles work, this is basically a death sentence without some insane hax to counter it.
I think John takes after the stuff he does in the 4th movie, this battle was before that.

John gets hit by a car every damm movie then walk it off like a sunday morning stroll. He killed over a hundred assassin in less than a week. Fell from a building twice, got thrown from the 2nd floor and landed on his back thrice and still proceeds to whoop everyone's ass. Bond may have all the gadgets but Wick is a goddamm monster
Exactly. To me, if bond didn't have any gadgets and it was hand to hand combat, John would have won. All the things he went through in 2 weeks and all the assassin's he took out non stop and he wasn't 100 percent when he took them out. Bond almost died in Casino Royale when he got poison but John had multiple injuries and fall off buildings more then once and that should have ended him, but it didn't and he was still alive and doing his thing
James Bond quicker tho even without the gadgets i feel like Bond still would hit a head shot first both are very skilled fighters and marksmen so i feel like the quicker person would win ultimately but that's just my opinion
@@gamerjay4310doesn’t matter, James Bond is much faster than John Wick. James Bond also fought the entire communist army in Comics 😂
